![]() Finally the Knicks played a defensive brand of ball - Knicks basketball. We won the first two playing into the Pacers style and came close again in game 3.
The Pacers came out hard, but we reeled them in and, outside of Turner’s 3 3s to start the 2nd half, couldn’t really get things going. TH is a really strange star - at least in this series, he takes long stretches where he’s off ball, being little more than a spacer/decoy. Perhaps he lost his mojo/was playing hurt again. I’m just amazed that their best player was such a non-factor. Burks was a real difference maker today. His 3s were true and defused some mini Pacers runs. Somehow Hartenstein grew another hand with the shot to the neck on Jackson. That was pretty funny. The announcers were strange tonight - I looked down at the score and the announcers never said the Knicks were up 25 or 30. They seemed a bit biased at times, making judgments on replays of a single angle. I’ve gotta say, Scott Foster, for all the flack he gets, kept a potentially messy game under control. I believe we’re 3-0, or maybe 4-0 this post season with him officiating. He doesn’t hate us - he seems to respect our team’s interpretation of the rules. :) that bodes well if we are to continue our playoff run. This game felt like we found a way to play 7 core players yet find a way to get solid rest time for our starters. The Knicks play much better with Achiuwa as our backup center than in a 2 big lineup. “That was two, two from the heart.” - John Starks
