Yeah...I'd rather take my chances with that Australian pt guard, who I've never seem play.

I’d rather try and get Deangelo Russell, Minnesota will not keep him if they draft Jalen Suggs or Cunningham.

Lonzo Ball does not impress me considering the money it would cost to sign him.

So you want to get a worse shooter, worse passer, and significantly worse defender on a worse contract. Make it make sense.

Russell is actually the better shooter, especially when you consider the shots he created, and their passing isn't far off. Ball is the better defender, no question. My problem with Russell, and Ball to a greater extent, is that their effectiveness can be greatly diminished in the half court. Yeah, Russell has a solid mid-range game, but it's streaky.

Both arnt perfect but bottom line is that this team needs a PG who can create and space the floor in the worst way.

I think, I'd feel more comfortable throwing the bag at Conley or Lowry for two years. Those Jaeln Brunsin rumors are also starting pick up steam

Thats the safer option and probably the smartest. Brunson is nice..would be the weakest playmaker out of them and I think the Mavs rate his as untouchable if Windhorst's words can still be trusted.

Today we stole a win from a game that we should have lost. 99/100 times the Knicks lose. It kind of feels like the basketball gods helped us grit out the games be the Grizzlies and this one.

It just shows the players on this team don’t quit and believe they have a chance until the buzzer sounds. Love it!

Regarding Zion - this guy is unbelievable - he’s really out of this world. They need a CP3-type floor general to show them how to win.

Zion our new Savor StarhucK?
You draft them or you sign them. We signed Randle and THAT’S how it gets done!!!!
I love Zion. He is amazing. I’m not a physiologist and can’t road map what is to become of that body but if I’m NOLA I look to maximize his value at some point.

My take is the fat kid in youth basketball eventually slimmed down or could not move anymore to keep up. This is not a “fat kid”, he is a freak of physics. But eventually it catches up. He looks bigger than he did last year. Not fat, just a Juggernaut of muscle built like a football player. He is Lawrence Taylor. I’m not making predictions or future “told you so”, just that I’d be nervous about that body. Any young player can go down and careers shortend. But this is just something I have never seen before.

Its' close but I think I would prefer Brunson over Ball. I think Brunson is being held back because of Luka-ball. I watched this kid win 2 'chips at Nova (how many college athletes can say they won multiple championships in college). He was the engine that drove that second championship team. As much as I love Lonzo's vision and ability to push the tempo, Brunson is better at getting into the paint and finishing. Brunson is also shooting a better % from 3....Dude is tough as nails, physically and mentally and is a winner. However, he's not a unrestricted until next summer....

Lets say the Pels flame out in the playoffs. If Zion wants to get traded to NY. This would be the offseason to do it. Randle is posting elite numbers. Still young.

Im guessing it would take Randle/Mitch and a couple of unprotected first rounders. Maybe a second as well. Not to play down the amazing season Randle ia having. But if Zion wants to be a Knick, have to try and make it happen. Sooner rather than later, if he wants out. Odd he spoke now. This early.

After this season, Zion's still got 3 years left.

I don't know how either team could justify making that trade right now. For NO, obvious reasons. Zion being viewed as their franchise player and making amends for the Anthony Davis fiasco.

On NY's side, Randle has built up too much goodwill to ship him off now. The way he worked himself into an all-star, setting the tone for this team and winning back a fanbase who had written him off. What do players think around the league as they watch this unfold and see NY ship him out the same year?

2 years left after this season, then an RFA. Zion and Luka, are the two players you drop all future plans, to try to make a deal happen. Sentimentality goes out the window when a multi-generational player wants to be traded to your team. You dont even think twice when they arent even close to their prime yet, but already putting up superstar numbers. Thats how you win championships.

You dont let opportunities like this pass. If in fact there is one. Not suggesting it is a fact. Only saying if Zion wants out early, wants to be traded to NY. You do what it takes to make it happen. Short of trading his wingman RJ.

Taj Gibson was great in this game, he saved some important Rose misses and did some other stuff that goes under the radar

I'm not in that camp. I don't see Zion having a long and successful NBA career. Man is a load, no doubt, but that's a lot of weight and pressure on those knees. I think he'll continue to get all-star nods, maybe a few seasons over 60 games, but I see a lot of risk.

My own skepticism aside, if NO approaches you with the offer, it's one thing. If you go to NO with the offer, which you have to expect 99.99% will be rejected, AND then it leaks that you were shopping your self-made cornerstone - you've just shot yourself in the foot PR and chemistry wise. There's not a play here, certainly not this year or next.

I would trade Randle plus the two Dallas picks but no more, no unprotected stuff. There is a huge risk that Zion would quickly go by way of LJ. But worth it to reunited him and RJ, as long as we do not mortgage our future.

And NO, of course, would not make such a deal.
