Maybe it's time to move on. Seems like every thread is a Hate Melo thread. What do you think?

I tend to agree with you, but I'd be willing to try it for a few weeks and see how it feels.

And maybe a break would give them the opportunity to come up with fresh, new reasons for Melohate/KnickSomerism.

To be fair I think people should be more neutral in regards to melo. Yes there are some who hate on melo BUT there are some who also are never critical of him.

Wanting what's best for the organization is not being critical of Melo

It's a fact that he is older and it would be wise not to max him out

Yeah, there aren't even some (plural) who hate him. I'm not sure about TKF but I know everyone else here wants him back at the right price.
yea your right... I wonder how TKF feels abou that

I thought he did give a figure around $12 mil per but I could be wrong.
Regardless, "some" typically implies plural

I believe that he said that he doesn't want him at any price.

Maybe he said that. I don't know why it bothers people to a point where they would start threads complaining about it.

I don't want him at any price... I don't like the way he plays, I don't like his vibe at all. for 12 mil, I would like a Loul deng, Iggy, paul george type player.... if possible, I like the two way forwards especially those who can defend the wings, and initiate offense for others... And preferable one who is younger than carmelo. I just rather start fresh here... can he help another team? I am sure he can, but I want to move along without him....

you hate his hair too. Dont forget that insufferable way he doesnt totally tuck in his shirt.

I think most every GM around the league would agree that Deng or Iggy are much better building blocks that Carmelo Anthony. Good insight.

Cue Bonn with the advanced sabremetrics showing Deng or Iggy are lightyears ahead of Melo in every imaginable stat that makes any true sense towards winning basketball.

Followed by a +1's interchangeably by the tkf/dtkf combo, explaining the low-rent intangibles that Melo presents to the game that kept either of those players from establishing chip dynasties.

Luol Deng, GOAT.

A lot more good posters have retreated because of the constant negative BS from people that barely watch the games. Remember HARDCORE, Marv, vdesai? fishmike is one of the few from the original group that is still posting regularly. Yes, the forum lost some that were pissed because we traded for Melo but lot more slowed down on posting because they would get attacked anytime they said something nice about the Knicks.

I see. There's really nothing nice to be said about the Knicks but hopefully Phil Jackson changes that

I believe that people find him irrational/illogical and just filled with hate.

As opposed the DK who is less emotional/less hate and has far more substance to his arguments.

You are pretty consistent in your belief that too many inefficient players get overvalued. Do you really need to come the defense of others so often? Its like treating them like little kids who can't battle alone.

Melo is having a more efficient year this year but thats not because he changed his style, he is just hitting more shots, especially from 3. I hope that Pjax will make him more of a team player.

There are a handful of posters who always come to the Melo-lovers defense too. You don't see that? I used to be in TKF's shoes - the one person that Fish and a few others attacked nonstop. I know how nasty it can get.
I've been posting here with TKF for over ten years now and I know how much he loves the team Gallo.

And people here are willing to talk about that. I mean thats really the big thing on the table right?

But you recognize why Melo finished 3rd in MVP voting last year. You recognize why he won player of the week. You recognize the very good things he brings to the table, so I for one enjoy hearing your thoughts on what you think is the best way to build this thing.

As opposed to loser/cancer, everyone from the GMs, sportswriters, fans and other NBA players are wrong and Melo is really a terrible person bla bla bla you have heard it. DK actually got pissy because someone posted how generous Melo is and how is charity is one of the best run.

I am 100% with you Guns... I want to see the Knicks fighting for a title year after year for another decade. With or without Melo.

"Forbes fashioned a short catalog of charitable celebrities in an article entitled The 30 Most Generous Celebrities at the head of 2012. Authors, actors, artists, comedians, models and athletes were applauded for the selfless acts, including NBA superstar Carmelo Anthony, whose generosity included providing a total sum of $837,200 ($500,000 to Syracuse University and $302,000 to The Living Classroom Foundation)"

anthony's salary: $18,518,574

302,000 divided by 18,500,000 equals 1.3%

whats next?

1. Chews with his mouth open?
2. Been known to ignore his salad fork?
3. Says "Um" too many times?
4. Does not put the seat down after using the toliet?
5. Does not sort his laundry?
6. Fails to always signal when he turns?
7. Does not inform host when out of toliet paper?
8. Puts back empty cartons of cereal?
9. Does not cuttle after sex?
10. Does not put ketchup cap back on after using it!!!!!!!

the biggest turn off for those guys was the lack of interesting anything on the board. I mean Islesfan was a funny dude. Insufferable but funny. Guys brought comedy and personality. Now its just about hee-hawing until you win an arguement and derail every thread into a how Melo's all star appearances and all NBA votes are a sham.

After last year this team has been unwatchable. Until now

That's the problem. It's extremists arguing back and forth with each other and getting no where. Been going on since day one of the Melo era

not sure i agree.. for instance what is extreme about mine or DK's opinion? I don't want carmelo here and I listed the reasons.. I never called him the worst player in the league, just not as good as many here believe.. DK went as far as to say he can tolerate him at a certain price.. how is that extreme....

I think it is more extreme to keep hearing things like, top 5 player, best scorer, when there is actually evidence to the contrary that would refute that..

when I say I don't want him because he is not a winner, I can point to things like his playoff performance and record. when I call him inefficient, I can point to numbers..

what I see here guns, are diehard melo fans who will see it no other way than for everyone to either love him and agree that he is a superstart worthy of lebron and Durant praise(although they will readily admit he is not on their level, even making this more confusing) or you are a HATER....

dude i don't want to hear about it. 1.3% of a salary this enormous is insignificant. the dude is GREEDY and nothing changes that.

12-13 million per year will change that perception.

knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%

10. Does not put ketchup cap back on after using it!!!!!!!

dude i don't want to hear about it. 1.3% of a salary this enormous is insignificant. the dude is GREEDY and nothing changes that.

12-13 million per year will change that perception.

...you're kidding, right? You cite a source on Melo donating over $800,000, and then call him greedy because one of the donations was a mere $300,000? The whole point of donating is that no one is forcing you, i.e., an act of charity. Complain about his basketball, but bitching about charity is not a good look for anyone...

I've been posting here with TKF for over ten years now and I know how much he loves the team.

Yes. I do see that - I do not have a side and I just like seeing sane thought out arguments. The hate spewing and illogic that it turns into is kind of pathetic (this is for both illogical extremes). I was also surprised that when he makes arguments about players like Iverson, you are not willing to call him out on it.

And yes, there is that ignore feature but I also have a hard time not staring at a six car pileup.

I disagree with him on Iverson but he already has 30 people yelling at him. I didn't think I needed to pile on.

fixed.

just sad... really sad... I thought a woman scorned was something to deal with... battered poster syndrome is even worse..

Leave your mom out of this!

But hey its cool! You can get over this. We survived Marbury. anything is possible.

You just need to open your eyes TFK.

Start with a daily affirmation:
Carmelo Anthony is an all star and thats OK.
Carmelo Anthony is an all star and thats OK.
Carmelo Anthony is an all star and thats OK.
Carmelo Anthony is an all star and thats OK.
Carmelo Anthony is an all star and thats OK.
Carmelo Anthony is an all star and thats OK.
Carmelo Anthony is an all star and thats OK.
Carmelo Anthony is an all star and thats OK.
Carmelo Anthony is an all star and thats OK.

Get back to me...

my mother is no longer living, so I left out out of this 13 years ago..

This is just another example of how horrible and incompetent of a poster you are..

To add to the fact that instead of taking your butt kicking on the forums like man, you take the female route.. such girlish behavior...

that is sad.. really sad...

oh Im not here to fight! You have already owned me! I thought that Melo was good but you have shown through your dedication that he is garbage and a cancer and we would be best served by letting him go.

Funny you refer to me as a scorned woman but cant take a "your mom" joke. So we know your delusional and the p word. Sounds about right.

The only sad thing here is you actually care about this. Google it! Look at your own work! RealGM, Ultimate Knicks, Slick sports (thats just the first page). All forums littered with you crying your anti-melo Jihad.

Then you get all sissy and say you dont really hate him the Knicks should just move in a different direction.

Ok two sad things... the above and the fact that you dont even have the balls to simply admit you cant stand him and want him gone. That I could actually respect more than your highlarious attempts to be sound unbiased and somehow informed.

But hey... I took you out of my sig so you should appreciate that :)

Luol Deng, GOAT.

this is the type of baiting and childish posting that I am surprised is allowed to go on here... really am surprised..

What's wrong tkf? Did I hurt your feelings with a pre-emptive post? Jeez... I thought you would really provide us with a truly forum-beat-down argument that would leave us all speechless in our stupid MeloLove.

Instead we get whining to the moderator? Female, indeed.

Will you be telling everyone stories about martin and andrew a few years from now?

A lot more good posters have retreated because of the constant negative BS from people that barely watch the games. Remember HARDCORE, Marv, vdesai? fishmike is one of the few from the original group that is still posting regularly. Yes, the forum lost some that were pissed because we traded for Melo but lot more slowed down on posting because they would get attacked anytime they said something nice about the Knicks.

I see. There's really nothing nice to be said about the Knicks but hopefully Phil Jackson changes that

the biggest turn off for those guys was the lack of interesting anything on the board. I mean Islesfan was a funny dude. Insufferable but funny. Guys brought comedy and personality. Now its just about hee-hawing until you win an arguement and derail every thread into a how Melo's all star appearances and all NBA votes are a sham.

After last year this team has been unwatchable. Until now

The sad thing was that Islesfan was right most of the time.

Yeah, the forum etiquette statement used to actually mean something.
Maybe it's time to move on. Seems like every thread is a Hate Melo thread. What do you think?
