Ah well. It's nice to be a True Knick Fan:

That stupid scumbag melo. I sure hope he doesn't think leading the best team in the NBA means anything

I'm wondering if you going to ask this after every win.

The season is still young but based upon the overall play of the Knicks thus far it is safe to say 55+ wins is in the range of reason. The Knicks are now 23-6 under Woodson during the reg. season. At what point do people realize this is likely a pace they can keep in regards to defense and team play which will translate to wins.

a 5-0 start is great and 55+ wins in the regular season is a shiny record... but we all can agree that the real prizes are a) top 2 conference seeding and b) a strong ECF showing.

lets hope the knicks are not crowing and ready to rest on their laurels like you and others are ready to do!

Well, to accomplish (a) and (b) the Knicks most likely need to get to that 55+ win "shiny record".

I'm wondering if you going to ask this after every win.

I'm wondering how many wins qualify as a quality sample size.

After the next win, I'll definitely ask again, but you'll notice I left a 4 to 5 game gap between question points going forward.

I'll admit that I didn't like the trade at the time. But we got Felton back, and there are some nice pieces around Melo now. This is a good-looking Knicks squad. Gotta give management some credit.

More than some credit. Grunwald deserves a huge amount of credit.

I don't think getting Felton back should be considered a good thing yet. He's been pretty bad overall and was absolutely brutal last night.

Now the joy of my world is in Zion How beautiful if nothing more Than to wait at Zion's door I've never been in love like this before Now let me pray to keep you from The perils that will surely come

A quality sample = n + 1,
where n = the number of games Carmelo has played.
Just kidding.

I judge individual players based mostly on how they perform, not how the team performs. Melo seems a little better this year than in the past but not substantially better. I consider him a B+ player in a very good situation. He'll have to shoot more efficiently, pass better, and/or rebound better in order to move into A territory.

Brutal?! Were you watching the game or stat watching? If you watched the game, you'd know that Felton made some key baskets in the 3rd quarter to keep us in it while the Magic were pretty much lights out. He also made some nice passes to Tyson to seal the deal down the stretch. Wondering, if Felton has been brutal thus far, how would you classify Lin's season?

I will never ever like the trade.

But that does not mean I don't enjoy watching Melo and glad he is a knick.

Getting Tyson was not part of the trade. Nor was smith, or Lin, or Novak, or Woody.

Teams go in differnt directions and have unique opportinities as time goes on. We are way past all the "what ifs".

I thought he cost too much at the time.

I am glad we were able to eat BIllups deal and get tyson. But nobody thought of that when we made the trade.

We are 5-0, happy and enjoying it, but just keeping persepctive.

Now lookng bck, since Raymond Felton has returned, we really murdered Denver during this trade. Replaced a below average Gallo with a top 5, elte NBA talent in Melo.

Melo has replaced Gallo.
J.R Smith has replaced Wilson Chandler.
Tyson Chandler ha replaced Timofey Mozgov.
Raymond Felton has returned.

How any Knicks fan could've been against our franchise landing a true franchis leader in Melo was (and is) beyond me. Walked away with a top 5 talent.

this is probably true but not a given.

there have been more than enough 55 win teams that did not get a first or second seed.

knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%

Yes he does. The main concern was getting depth around Melo and Stoudemire with limited resources. He did that as well as anyone could have. Getting guys like Felton, Smith, Brewer, Novak, etc for under market value was unreal.

I could understand this perspective better if Melo had turned out to be Marbles.

We had Coke, we traded it for Pepsi.

We now find out two years later, that Coke's main ingredient is bird guano.

We still have Pepsi, which we find is made with a rather high grade of pure cane sugar. Not top 5 grade, but cane sweetness none the less.

Some people I guess, would still miss Coke.

THE FUNNY thing is guano is a highly effective fertilizer... bird guano is actually a decent fertilizer.... but it also has other uses, as a fungicide when fed to plants through leaves.. pretty good info I got from my friend who is an ecologist with the CDC here in Atlanta..

with that said, I miss the coke with the bird guano, because I was looking forward to steady growth.

instead we have pepsi with what you call a lower grade cane sugar? well why would we want that? the sugars we find in soda are not healthy as it is, and you are championing a lower grade? but I guess it is fitting, sweet to the taste buds initially, but sooner or later you notice the weight gain, sluggish behavior and then.. boom, diabetes.....

no thanks.. give me the Bird guano, i can use it as fertilizer to help my product grow, and then I can use the rest to grow sugar cane and sell the rest of that to the pepsi loving fools out there , make a few billion and watch them get fat....

Hey, it won't be top 5 cane sugar.. but you can feel free to call it " THE BEST PURE SUGAR IN THE LEAGUE".
