i don't think is about money. it's about Lin going back to the Rockets to try to construct a deal the knicks wouldn't match.
at some point you have to ask - does this guy want to be here? and is that the best player to have on board in a season you're supposed to be all in.
we already know there's tension between melo and lin. and we know woodson backs melo...
STILL. that said... i think letting Lin go would be a HUGE mistake. bad move.

I'm not a big Lin fan but I find it strange that he has never said that he wants to remain a Knick or that he hopes the Knicks match the offer so he can remain in NY.
I believe this kid is NOT about team winning and just trying to make a name for himself. While in NY, he was always be mentioned behind Melo and Amare. In Houston, he instantly becomes the man.
