Ugh, how does everyone not see this? It's pretty amazing the everyone here is waxing nostalgic over teams that struggled to win 30 games.

i think most of the supporters for Craw here envision him and the team being more successful when he is the 4th best player and not the go-to guy. and really, for $2.5M, without having to give up picks and/or youth, how can you really dislike the deal?

But he always thinks he's the go-to guy. He's a chucker who looks for his shot and every once in a while throws a pass.

Now the joy of my world is in Zion How beautiful if nothing more Than to wait at Zion's door I've never been in love like this before Now let me pray to keep you from The perils that will surely come

When the game is on the line, Crawford is lights out. Case closed.

Nope. Jamal Crawford is the go-to-guy when he is asked to be the go-to-guy. When he was here, we had no consistant g2g. So he did it. In ATL, their 100 million dollar man is scared to be the g2g and so is everyone else on that team. He did it there too. Here, he will not be asked to be the g2g. There isn't a coach in the world that has ever called him a selfish player. Nor a team mate who has publically called him selfish. He has done what he has been asked to do. And that has been to create off the dribble. Here he will be told to defer to Melo and Stat first and foremost. It's literally just that simple.

Ummmm, why would that be the case? Who said that? Funny. Fact is, teams need GUYS who are able to hit those clutch shots (I.E. Kobe, Gasol, Odom, Fisher......Celts come to mind, Dallas comes to mind). You need guys who are not afraid and have a track record of hitting tough shots at crucial times. He's a guy who can do that. Think of his many buzzer beaters. It's called options.

http://82games.com/1011/CSORT11.HTM According to the list, he's nothing special in the clutch. He scores less in the clutch than a whole bunch of players, including Toney Douglas.

Close to home. RT @jwquick: Agent Andy Miller confirms Portland's interest in guard Jamal Crawford. They have offered 2 years, $10 million.

Sounding like Portland.

also, Blazers would need to immediately amnesty Roy to get Crawford?

The irony: Crawford, Roy are very close and live within minutes of each other in Seattle. For Crawford to be Blazer, Roy needs to be waived

yeah, but the medical retirement thing can take a while to get approved. remember, it took almost all season for the mobley thing to get reviewed and the league eventually decided mobley's money shouldn't come off the knicks cap?

Sounds as though Portland made their decision if they've already made him the offer. And if Roy's already called it quits, nothing for him nor Jamal to be mad about for Blazers making it official.

Still holding out hope until anything official is announced, but my expectations are swaying.

Yeah, if the Knicks' offer is only @2.5 million per, I just don't see him taking half the money. It would be the kind of selfless move you just don't see pro athletes making, ever. If the Knicks can sweeten the offer by throwing in players and working a sign and trade (like when the thread began: Balkman, Walker, Douglas), then I think they can make it happen. I get the feeling he really wants to find a way to NY. But you can't expect the guy to sacrifice that much money--move to him, Knicks. I still endorse that original deal. But if it doesn't happen I gotta think he goes to Portland for double the money. Make the deal, Knicks!

Oh, and C2D, I think you found your new sig with that 'Dislike' graphic.

This would explain the hold up if they have to amnesty Roy first

If the Knicks don't sign Jamal Crawford, they'll shift attention to Maurice Evans, Shawne Williams and Baron Davis: tinyurl.com/c3tp5oe

I would take Baron Davis over Jamal Crawford and I'm not even a Davis fan.

Evans could be a good pick up. Role player, good quickness, defensive minded with good range. Does the little things

if the choice is between jamal and shawne, who do you go for?

the jamal fanboys all talk about his ability to score, especially in the clutch. while i agree those are his best qualities, they are also redundant given caremlo and STAT.

shawne knows his role and gives us needed size/length. we lose a capable ballhandler in jamal, but we gain a guy who could guard any front court position in shawne. just based off last year, shawne is a better 3 point shooter too.

i'll say i'd rather have shawne. don't think he's the better play but i think he's the better fit.

jamal should go to portland and put up 20 a game. does he really want to come here and be 6th man again? he's trying for one more contract (only 1 yr deal)

Shawne is definitely the better fit. UNLESS Crawford is content being a facilitator first. If he focused on finding the open guy, penetrating and kicking, etc, I think he'd be unreal on this roster. Too much evidence shows that won't happen though. So based on player history, id take Shawne.

Wouldn't be a tragedy if it was Crawfoord though.
