Our offense was pretty weak, all we had was Melo going Iso, hope it gets better. We only won the game because the shots did fall and my good Dukie played some good D.

On the positive side, these are games that superstars win for you. When the team is having a hard time, superstars can put a team on their backs for a quarter/half and steal a victory.

Next.. this officiating was horrible.... to let dwight howard sit there and play a college zone all game is a joke..

Amare played a great game.. didn't shoot much, but shot 6-10 and 8-10 from the FT line, he defended better, hit the boards and most of all didn't force the issue.. still finished with 20/9

TD: hit some big shots, didn't shoot well, but played under control..

Billups played better and hit some big shots..

Melo: 39 points and 10 boards... yea, we know he can do that.. but his defense and intensity on both ends from start to finish set the tone.. if he can do this every night, we will be competitive.... yes we still have holes, but a good effort goes a long way.. monster game...

Shelden williams: Unsung hero.. his defense and key plays helped us get this win..

I think the knicks still doubled too much and the threes down the stretch were ridiculous.. almost cost us... we also rebounded.. 43 boards to the magic 44.. that was key, only 9 off rebounds for the magic.. limited the second shots..

much needed win.. we still need to pick up the pace, get amare more involved, but I will take the win.. about time..

Definitely need to get Amare more invloved but our pick and roll is nonexistent now. Seems like Billups doesn't run it at all.

TD is great off the bench, but this team needs a burner at PG who can defend and see the floor. that will benefit amare the most..

get a SG who can create

get a center...

billups is a nice player, but I can even see him on a team like the lakers, running a slower paced offense..

I don't mind the Iso..as long as the Ball Movement continues after the double team. It's a offense within itself if you are willing to pass. Amare was open several times once Melo got the ball but Melo didn't feel comfortable passing over Dwight Howard..Only one team has a Dwight Howard.

The only reason the iso is working is becuase Melo can score form just about anywhere. Wonder how it would work during playoffs though? I am glad that Melo is taking a huge load off of STAT in the scoring department. But we have to have Fields completely integrted into the offense if we want to do anything in the playoffs. And yes we need intensity like we saw today.

Agreed with the bolded part. I was talking to a friend of mine while watching the game and told him that we need a playmaker at the point. A playmaking pg who can break a play, get into the lane draw the D and get some easy shots for Stat and Melo where they dont have to fight for their own shots all the time.

Also agree about the center and sg. Although, depending on the type of pg we get (if we get a scroing pg like a Kemba Walker), Feilds can play a Doug Cristie like role for us.

this looked like a playoff game tonight. the thing with melo is that he can do that against anyone.

i was impressed by his defensive intensity tonight. need to see more of that.

good win.

they can and should win all three of their next three games.

Feilds/and Williams' 3's have been off lately. Some have been wide open.

Yeah he has great speed and can shoot the 3. Not sure about his finishing skills..that's important too. How many layups did Felton get in this offense. Billups or Douglas rarely finishes at rim. Billups is a good player in his own right but the threat at the rim is not there.

Curious to see the type of intensity this team comes out with against the Nets on Wednesday. Need to follow this up with another W.

Just glad the team gave 110% and got the win. This team still has issues on offense right now, but if they can dig in on D, there's no reason they can't win games. It's funny how the defensive effort level was there tonight. They didn't just let guys shoot 3's without a closeout. That's all that was missing from before. Guys fighting over picks, playing ball denial, help D, etc. It was very noticeable when someone failed to get a hand up like on that Jeffries play against Richardson.

Overall I like the way they played. They had a plan on D and executed it very well. It wasn't as good in the 2nd half, but it did slow the Magic down in the 1st half.

We're definitely pipe-dreaming here. Knight nor Walker will be available when we pick. I bet Fredette will still be on the board, then the team that picks before us will snatch him up even though they wont even need a pg.
