I think there was an ability there to move up to get Whiteside --C Torrance--PG at our pick and than if they wanted Fields--they couldve taken him there. I didnt see the effort from the Knicks to be creative to fill needs and taking guys not projected very high. That doesnt mean they wont be right--but the strategy or the extra effort was not there imho.

Fields can score bottom line. He's a smart player who's team had a relatively poor year. But this guy wasn't hoisting shots to lead the conference in scoring. He shot 49%. He was also 2nd in the conference in rebounding and a top 20 player in the draft in terms of getting steals. I think its just a guy that flew under the radar that can play the game.

The more i read about Fields the more i like.

22 & 9 and he got to the line 257 times last year. That last number is a real eye-opener...We'll see..

If this is true, there you go.

Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

I don't really like Jordan. I am a bit dissapointed we didn't get Whiteside when he slipped out of the first round.

DraftExpress actually has his blog as part of the write-up for him.

May be a replacement for Chandler, if we have to move him.

I feel a little better about Fields than Rautins, but I'm still stunned by what we picked up.

Me too. I hope we checked in with Sac & at least inquired about the availbility of Whiteside before we picked up Jordan..Not bad though. I do feel a little better..

I knew before this draft there would be 10-12 undrafted players with legit shots to be on nBA teams

maybe this draft will go down as the role player fill in draft

I find it interesting that some who blasted Isiah's drafting and reaching in the past are now falling over backwards to make excuses for Walsh for doing the same. Those two were not on anyone's top 60 list. And to now make excuses for reaching is just hilarious. These are the type of things that I keep track of. Oh well good luck to the new guys and I hope they have long careers.

Nets look like they have a serious plan in place. Lebron or no Lebron. Should be an interesting summer.

Well let's be careful not to have a bit of revisionist history here. The players that were bitched about were reaches in the first round with much better players available (Frye at #8, Balkman at #21, in particular), not the second. The teams were also in very different situations. Isiah's teams needed high-ceiling players. Our team next year may be most in need of role players.

So, before you go implying that people are hypocrites, please consider these contextual differences. I find it more concerning that people are so hung up on potential, which much more often than not, does not pan out.

Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

Who cares if we get Jerome Jordan? D'Antoni isnt going to play him unless he can shoot 3's. I guess some forget we had Darko who is better than Jerome Jordan offensively.

Jerome gets to rot on the bench for a year.

July 8th needs to hurry up and get here.
