well, since you asked . . .

i buried my best friend yesterday who put up a great fight against brain cancer for 15 months. i got to be with him the night he died and i got to address the congregation yesterday. it was a lot of consolation to be with his other friends and family and to just talk and talk and talk our memories of him. i took the great advice of caseloads and fishmike and others here and loved him while he was here and appreciated every moment and every day. and that's what i plan on continuing to do. and if i can stay up tonight (i'm a little burned out but i'm gonna try) i'll tune in and watch us take on phoenix. that's life too.

thanks for asking man.

Hey, I'm just catching up with the thread. My deepest sympathies to you, Marv, at this difficult time.

The Suns won because they're at home.

and because they're better than the knicks..

Nash is better than Marbury. That's the only way they're better without Amare.

are you serious? what 3 point shooters do the knicks have?

suns are on a 9 game streak... knicks won't win 9 games for another 2 weeks

don't let the fact that we were close fool anyone... the suns missed a lot of shots.. but lets not get ridiculous

Why do the Knicks need 3 pt. shooters to win?

Big deal. If the Knicks traded Marbury for Nash they would go on a run as well.

no, the three point shooter comment was in response to you saying "Nash is better than Marbury. That's the only way they're better without Amare."

the suns are way faster, score way more, shoot way better, pass way better, ARE way beter than the knicks in every aspect except post play (with amare out)

I have to agree with you TemujinKnick. I certainly wouldn't mind a won/loss record like the Suns....

oh well who cares that we lost, the point is we can be a very good team this year, especially if the offense gets better

Yep. The Knicks will be very good. All they need to do is reduce the number of turnovers, improve their offense, their free-throw shooting, and their defense, and they'll be doing fine.

the defense is already good enough, free throws have been improveing tool just the offense that needs to improve

Phoenix is not a good team, they're just a good run and gun team, A good team doesn't need to take 28 3-pointers. When the playoffs come around they will be sitting at home after the 1st round!!

Yes but dont forget, theres this guy named Amare sitting injured on the bench right now, but he will be ready for the playoffs. I hear hes pretty good...

When Curry and Frye learn to pass out of double/triple teams and the Knicks learn better ball movement, there will be improvement.

Seriously, that's true, and it's very promising.

the fact that we were close means alot, did you happen to see the final score of this game 81-85 this is the same team that scored 125 against the blazers the other night, even though we lost there were definite signs of improvement in this game

the knick fan part of me wants to say "yea we played great defense..." the realistic part of me remembers the suns missing a whole lot of open shots...

but as a credit to the knicks, feeding the post in the first half really slowed the game down, and limited the suns ability to pick up the tempo...

but that was a terrible 4th quarter, our offense collapsed

look..we lost and the feeling sucks...but we have improved mightily since the season started..we've gave games away due to inexperience, offensive ineptitude down the stretch and stupid turnovers or missed free throws. We missed 5 free throws from the line...if we had made 5..we'd win..if we hit 4...we'd be tied. The knicks defense has been lokking better and better and its good to see frye and robinson developing. Marbury was doing his thing, but i think he's playing injured cause i caught him shaking the arm he injured against the clippers numerous times in the game.

Our problem is we start games off great, but we fade to quick...we need to maintain our energy throughtout the game and we need to play better defense down the stretch, we cant let role players like bell or house beat us....Marion had a 14pt 8 rebound game...

Defense is improving, but offensively we looked so unsure on so many plays ,especially the postups..the guards need to do a better job lobbing passes as alot of the lobs came in with 6 -8 seconds on the shot clock.

Im not worried about our defense, its the offense that bugs me. As great of aplayer marbury is, he needs to step up, but its just not him, others need to help out when its needed.

All in all tho, i see major improvement and im an optimist, im hoping all the strides we made help the team in the long run.

Because they don't have a true PG.

Hey AD didn't play tonight, rose was limited as was taylor, we played the young guys, they are learning, we are no longer pushovers, yea frye had a bad game, but he battled, got fouled a bit in the post, but he will earn those calls with the refs one day, he still fought hard, can't fault the guy for wanting to compete, that block he had on marion was nice.. nate guarded nash hard late in the game.. we are learning to play the right way, I like it...

I dont know why im arguing with therapist. obviously the suns are a better team than us which is why they won, but they beat us very unconvincingly, we were close the ENTIRE game not just in the fourth when they were missing shots. i dont care what anyone says, cuase last year everytime we played the suns we got blown out badly, the fact that we were close definately means SOMETHING. even in a bad shooting night the suns would have beaten us by alot more if we were the same team from last year

Another day, another loss... I know this is rebuilding and Im ok with it in terms that we have a lot of talent, but... Dam! This really sucks! And the thing is that we play well, but its always a bad stretch that defines our loss. Today, that run at the end of the first half was a killer. It set the tone. Its sad to be a fan and not be able to expect victories. Sighs...

the knicks will get victories soon, the knicks should be playing alot of home games coming up. and all those road games may have made us a tougher team, so im actually optimistic about the future.

Fryes back to he basket game is in the gutter. Thats not his thing. He generally had no clue what to do with the ball on the block and looks like he lacked the leg strength to pull off the 1 or 2 moves he did get a chance to attempt. Playing him that way exposes all kinds of holes in Frye's game and Isiah's I would've taken him over Bogut kool-aid splashin'. Its like when LB played Curry 42 in the opener, 30 minutes or more just ain't happenning.

ah, bogut has no back to the basket game either. but if you noticed the time that frye did make a move in the post and score, or the fact taht the suns were constantly double teaming him, I think he got fould a bit, but hey, he is due a bad game, missed a few jump hooks that he makes most of the time, you look to find fault, where there really is none....
