anyone hear if/when the trade will go through? did curry pass the tests?

I read that the tests will take up to two days to complete.

this makes me nervous
Don't be. With Zeke, the fix is always in. Nothing like this or getting Larry Brown or getting Robinson is ever happening in the time frame we are exposed to.

Crawford probably gave Zeke all the pertinent medical data weeks ago, and then they got together with Curry's agent and put the screws to the Bulls.

Eddie Curry is all of 22 years old and playing for Larry Freakin' Brown.

Stand back, relax and enjoy the growth of an entertaining squad about to become a TEAM

Two hours after the trade was approved by the league, Knicks officials insisted they were doing everything they could to clarify Curry's health issues. But they will not ask Curry to take the DNA test, a step recommended by a prominent expert in the field. The Knicks will rely on other tests, said Isiah Thomas, the Knicks' president, who disagreed that acquiring Curry was a risk.

"We've followed this for a while, and the research that we've done from afar led us to the point where we thought we could make a trade for him," Thomas said after the Knicks' first day of training camp at the College of Charleston. "We've talked to all of our doctors, and now the second phase of it is to get our hands on and get an eyeball on him."

Curry had a physical examination in New York on Tuesday and was scheduled for more tests Wednesday morning. He could join the Knicks in time for practice Wednesday evening.

If Curry fails a physical examination, the Knicks could rescind the trade.

The Knicks previously reviewed Curry's medical records, including those related to his heart condition, and Thomas said team doctors consulted with the heart specialists who examined Curry the last few months.

"I feel very confident in our medical staff, that if he passes the physical, we'll be real lucky to have gotten a guy such as this," Thomas said. "They don't come along that often."

Curry had been working out in Chicago with Tim Grover, Michael Jordan's former trainer. Thomas said that if Curry passed his physical exam, there was no reason he would have any limitations when he begins practice with the Knicks.

Man this issue was on my mind big-time yesterday.

Prior to the trade I hadn't wanted Curry because of his game.

Then the trade happened and I let it go because I want to root for my guys wholeheartedly (bad word but it's what came to mind).

Then I started thinking about the heart issue and it haunted me all day. Like Fish I had horrible visions of him dying on the court and what that would be like for everyone involved.

It's similar to my feelings about Tommy Hearns or Evander Holyfield returning to boxing. And Tommy's trying to talk Sugar into it too!

Isiah said in the press confernece that it's against NY state law to force someone to take the DNA test. I think everyone involved is taking the wrong approach. I think he should take the test. The doctor who recommended it is quoted as saying that it can prove that you do have the condition but can't prove that you don't - you can get a false negative. OK, if it comes out negative, then at least everyone involved has done everything they can. If it comes out positive, then you deal with the situation based on medical facts and make it an open situation, not hidden in the closet. Can a player play with this condition? Exactly what are the risks? Has medical technology advanced on this subject since the day of Reggie Lewis? Are there things that can be done to minimize the risks in any way?

Is Eddy Curry allowed to sign a waiver saying that I alone accept full responsibility for making an informed medical decision as an adult? Can the Knicks become full partners in owning up to this by saying that if God forbid he passes away from this condition we'll pay his wife the entire amount of his contract? These are horrible circumstances but my point is I believe there are better ways to deal with them by not having everyone put their heads in the sand. Find out the facts and try to make some responsible decisons owning up to them. I like it a lot better than the denial option. Believe me it will go down real real bad for everyone involved if something tragic happens and everyone had played the ostrich game.
