I just wonder if they'll stil call the Allan Houston rule and 15 years from now on something like stomp the Shwub they'll ask "back in 2005 when the new bargaining agreement was made, what provision was named by popular consent after a player on whom it was not in actuality used?"

Makes for a great sports trivia qustion huh?
A glimmer of hope maybe?!?

he weighs less than sweets. Nothin to say about that huh?

we'll see.

half the age and twice the size. The guy doesnt rebound, cant pass and doesnt guard. Forget Mo T.. he's awesome, despite the fact that the best think Isiah could say was how valueable his contract would be in 2.5 years

Fish, gimme a break. If Isiah amnesties Shamdon and THEN waives JYD, there'd be even more of an outrage. "We got rid of JYD for nothing! That's so stupid!"

Not saying this board is a bunch of malcontents, but lol, you guys sure are looking for something to complain about. All. The. Time. The overreaction to this waiver is just the latest example. You'd think we just traded Ewing for Weatherspoon or something. Folks, it ain't that big of a deal, and it's not obvious that any other waivers would have been clearly better. Get over it, enjoy this nice summer day.

exactly... good post..

It all goes back to the Mo T trade. If Isiah doesn't make that moronic trade then they have the roster spot that they need to keep JYD and amnesty Shandon.

You're so far up Isiah's behind I can't tell if that's your nose or Isiah's duodenum.

Did you care less about Layden when he was here? I bet not. Same thing with Isiah.

I'm going to have to cry myself to sleep knowing that you hate me. It'll be real hard to fall asleep knowing t..Zzzzzz

Yeah, Mo T sucks so much that he's our best low post scorer. Better than Sweetney, yes. I wouldn't be shocked to see him play an important role for LB.

[quote]exactly! or do people still think we're getting Elton Brand for expiring contracts?!

I don't think anyone thinks we're getting Elton Brand. You keep using that example but its clear as day the Clippers are trying to contend this year. Mark my words, there will be a very good PF/C available at the trade deadline this year because there is one available EVERY YEAR at the deadline. Maybe it will be Pau Gasol, going back to that rumor from about a month ago but make no mistake about it, there will be someone available and the Knicks will be the team most loaded with the contracts and young talent to get it done.

there wasn't one last year! except a disgruntled combo guard named Steven Francis ooops I mean Baron Davis

Chris Webber doesn't count?

oh how can I forget the 35yr olds playing on damaged knees lol

First off, he's 32. Second off, he averaged 21 points a game on that bad knee in Sacramento last year and then went to the team that has the human blackhole on it and struggled. People keep wondering why players can't play with Allen Iverson... it's becuase he takes EVERY SINGLE SHOT. Webber had a fine year last year with Sacramento and if he were on the Knicks, we'd be in a much better situation then we are right now. Like it or not, Chris Webber is still a very good player.

those points were more atributed to Sacremento's style of offense of moving the ball around and eventually finding the open man. The Webber we saw in Philly couldn't get a shot up over opposing nba PFs who were healthy. I rather take my chances on sweetney and frye. But I definitely agree with the Iverson part. its impossible to surround Iverson with stars and expect the sixers to become a contender. You need to surround Iverson with the Mutombo, artest and big ben;s of the world

if you dont trade for Mo T and just release Moochie and Baker this summer the Knicks would save the $9mm they owe skinny Mo next year

looks like all of us have our panties in a bunch. usually happens to some when a knicks transaction happens, and for the others, well they're just cross dressers.

MARV WHERE ARE YOU?!?!?! we need counseling.
bigtime... MARV's absence has totally got us off the handle.

This thing is pretty funny. I mean, its the Allan Houston rule. LOL. And we waive Jerome, classic

you think stern and the other nba suits are just sitting in their offices laughing at us.

it is classic.

I only 200 posts until this thread

Tom I hope your right... I really do. This management really scares me with how they manage the money, and it does matter because there are players with long contracts attached to it.

this is about the time everyone starts flailing and using new york post quotes.

Mo is fat and lazy:

waving H20 does nothing for our cap situation whereas waiting for him to breakdown after 15games and then retiring does wonders for our cap and ability to get closer to adding a real frontcourt player

I didn't actually take the time to read all ten pages of replies, but I'm disappointed with this decision. I like the majority of the moves Isiah has made and the direction he has moved the team in, but this is one of the minority decisions that I disagree with.

I cannot understand what all the fuss is about?!

JYD was never going to play! I was at the Garden when he had that missed free throw, then got the rebound and dunked it back in, but that was last year, when we had absolutely noone else to backup the pf spot after Sweets fouled out in the second quarter. This time, we have a bunch of rookies to play, plus we have a guy, in Rose that has won Championships before, can play defense and is younger the JYD. Whats the logic for NOT waiving JYD? Maurice Taylor can do something that no other PF on the Knicks has proven they can do. Score. What happens if Sweets is in foul trouble, we're down a few and we need some frontcourt offense. Who you gonna call? JYD? I dont think so.

We had too many Power Forwards. Even though Shandon contract is a little bigger, it makes no sense to waive him, when you can make almost the same amount of money by waiving JYD, while at the same time, creating just a little more room for our younger guys to maybe prove themselves.

But even if you don't agree with my arguement, what's all the ruckus about?! JYD this year was going to be a human DNP machine. He was never going to play, and he doesn't provide anything unique to this team. He's a wonderful guy to have on any team, but we are in EXACTLY the same position with or without him.

I don't know whether I agree with waiving anyone if it wasn't going to be Houston, but the fact that it was JYD means nothing to me. Its a nothing piece of front-office in-team politicking. People here are going around in a huff like Isiah signed LeBron and traded him for Dajuan Wagner.Whats the big deal?!

which leaves me wondering what Rose's role will be. Taylor and JYD would've complimented each other better. Now Rose will get the majority of the bench minutes and Taylor will not be able to help us in the post and the developement of sweetney, frye & lee will continue to get stunned
