Nuggets are fuego and still have the 3rd SOS in the NBA...22-9 since a .500 9-9 start

so you are saying lebron, Durant and George? I do like george a lot, he is turning into a fantastic two way player... have no argument there at this point.....

Yeah as of not now but RIGHT NOW I'd have to go...

Durant
Lebron
George

In that order. I can't ignore what this young stud is doing on both sides of the ball. He's pretty much an ELITE 2-WAY player. He locks it down and is uncanny with his Dynamic play. It's incredible how productive he is offensively when he doesn't have tons of sets called for him.

Elite two way player? What's elite about him offensively and defensively?

Well let's see he takes 15fga/gm shooting 43%(fg) and 39%fg(3pt) 82%fta. He's only 1.5-.5% behind Melo in shooting % categories which isn't a huge gap and Melo's ELITE offensively right? Currently George is at 18ppg/4ast. He can do pretty much everything offensively and is surely more Dynamic than most players in this league offensively.

If he attempted 5fga/gm more along with the rest of the chuckers in this league he's a 24-25ppg scorer and probably averages 1ast more/gm. That's ELITE level. He's a threat to score 20ppg or more every night.

Defensively are you kidding me. Since the middle of December he's notched 12 double doubles. Leads the league in Defensive Win Shares and has pretty much all year. He averages about 8reb/gm, 2stls/gm and locks up the best offensive player every night. You obviously aren't paying attention to him enough, not that you should just saying.

yea, the pacers don't have granger, Hibbert is not playing at the level he did last year, yet the pacers are right there near the top in the east.. when I watch certain players, I look at everything they do when they are not shooting.. this guy is very much engaged in every aspect of the game, especially on defense.... if I had to chose and lebron and Durant are gone.. I take George.. yea, yea, even over my homie gallo who would be my 4th choice at SF..... I just like these rangy guys who can do multiple things at the SF spot.. Deng would also get much consideration from me as well..

You are a funny guy. I really enjoy your posts and this is not sarcasm at all.

you do realize I am talking about small forwards.. I am not talking george over chris paul if given the choice.. but as a SF, i agree with 3g on this issue.. for me, I look for different things in a player, I am a huge fan of steph curry, nash, jrue holliday..... sometimes I watch the game within the game with certain players, and it is entertaining in doing that alone.... I like guys like Batum and Aldridge... if you get a chance, look back at how Aldridge has transformed his game.. dude used to be a jump shooter. pick and roll shooter.. now this guy has a legit post game, I mean fake left, turn right, in your face.. great footwork.. I love to see the transformation of players, get out of your comfort zone to become the best you can be.... for me, that is what makes a "player"!!!

I was never sure if you actually watched NBA games but now I'm convinced that you don't and just go off of ESPN/youtube highlights.

P.George is a talent and well on his way if he continues this path but already saying an ELITE 2 WAY player?...naw.......this is like saying Houston has the best back court in the league.

But it's your opinion and you are entitled to it.

You mentioning players like Gallo/Batum and can't forget about guys like Pierce/Young/Leonard/Gay/Granger man this is a pretty deep position in the league,

Yeah sure because when there were fans who figured Harden to be All-Star caliber ELITE offensively when he showed flashes were dead wrong in advance right and they never were watching the game.

Yes but if he chucks more his shooting % may decrease even more than it has this year. Which makes his 42+ % even worse. Also, I would like to see him get to the line more. Anyway, enough of my humble opinion I will leave the scouting to those who really watche the games. lol.

the bottom line for any elite player (someone who can help his team in the playoffs on the road) is whether he can defend-- that is a baseline expectation. offense can come and go but defense is forever. paul george is up there with the best small forwards in the league on that score. that's why he will displace granger.

advanced statwise-- he is a little low on TS% but he will increase his trips to the free throw line eventually and it's easy to see him reaching an elite 58%TS in the next couple of years.

his usg/ast ratio is an astonishingly low-- and good-- 1.26 which means he creates cohesion and chemistry when he is on the floor.

granger is no more efficient than george while being far less of a chemistry guy with a usg/ast of 2.26.

knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%

Paul George is a freak, modern Tmac

If I could construct a team with a big 3, without ALL STAR starting
I would choose

Holiday
Battum
Noah

obviously, I chose 3 versatile/defensive/skilled/ TEAM PLAYER's
While none are max players, they can all play uptempo or half court
Plug in some scorers and the team is set

Gay/George in there or a Love/Aldridge/Dirk

or some cheaper salaries in

JR Smith and Taj Gibson

I feel ya... I said this before.. this league no longer has the depth of super talent as it did in the past when guys like MJ, malone, Hakeem, Robinson, ewing, isiah, payton, were all in the league.. today, we have two really elite talents.. Durant and lebron.. the rest fall in line and a lot of them are very close.. so for me, if you feel that stars are the way to win, and you don't have the best two or 3, then you better build a great team.... which is why I like what you are saying and I agree..

for me, I love jru at PG as well, a young nash would be ideal for my team, but now, Jrue would be the man or even tony parker.. I would go with gallo or george at SF... and either noah or ibaka at center... of course this is assuming that we can't get our hands on Durant and lebron...

Once again Eye Test then stats back it up...Basketball-Reference.com and Hoopdata and Hoopstats....

Flat out stud, legit argument to be ranked 3rd best small forward in the NBA "right now"

Actually adding Ibaka in to the PF with that roster would be quite sick defensively
The thing about the 3 players I chose is you could go with defensive players, offensive players, are average on both ends to fill it in
The core that I chose, on DEFENSE, it would allow many different philosophies/schemes with their defensive abilities/length/speed/athleticism
You simply could choose to play 1v1 defense or the help defender could come from many different players *which gives deceptiveness*

Jrue Dat

Jrue Dat

Jrue Dat

I hear what ya'll are saying there. Obviously they are the crem de crem Lebron/Durant but there may be 1-2 players in this league if healthy and offered in a trade for either their GMs would have to think long and hard about it....those 2 players are...

Derrick Rose(although I loath him as a point guard)

Kyrie Irving(Uncle Drew There Do Dat)

But yep you put this young crop of 2 ways on the same team I'd put them up against anybody to win

Jrue
Gordon
George
Ibaka
Noah

Oh I see Earl Clark dropped another double double yesterday with 14/12 and a clutch basket made late from a Nash assist. Speaking of which did anyone see that nasty hook shot Nash made yesterday? EPIC!

Keep it up Clark make sure the Lakers pay not only Dwight but you too.

Al Jefferson to SA?
Didn't realize San Antonio and Utah were so close...

The San Antonio Spurs are the frontrunners to acquire Al Jefferson, according to a report.

Jefferson will be an unrestricted free agent this offseason and the Utah Jazz are unlikely to re-sign them.

“Those teams are practically incestuous, they are on such good terms internally,” one NBA source said.

Dennis Lindsey, current GM of the Jazz, is formerly of the Spurs' front office.

This is likely why.

You simply could choose to play 1v1 defense or the help defender could come from many different players *which gives deceptiveness*

oh yea, and I like diversity with a team.. makes it hard to gameplan... I rather teams try to game plan our style instead of a particular player...
