Jason Kidd ----- I think he's become an outstanding coach
Chris Paul ----- this was via Isola and it would be extremely interesting (even as a player coach)

If we somehow get Kidd that’s the precursor to Giannis

Possibly

Knicks poach a head coach from another team? With all our future assets?

I think Kidd would be a really good fit here but I wouldn’t give up draft picks for him.

Kenny Payne, Mike Woodson were as well. I think.

Seems like over the years Thibs went from a guy who would do anything for a job and to get another chance, including allowing his boss to dictate his staff, to going back to “my way or the highway” after finding success here. Seems like his refusal to take suggestions on the starting lineup and bench only to do it under desperation later did him in. I could see how that situation would get him fired when the stakes are so high.

Thibs has been known to butt heads with the FO before he did with the bulls they got security to escort him out the building

I’ve always liked Kidd as a coach and he would probably be my first choice but he’s not available unless you want to send the mavericks draft picks.

I'd love him as a coach but can't see it happening with the #1 pick coming in etc

Maybe but the interview with Kidd and Nico after trading Luka was pretty crazy. Kidd looked like a hostage being forced to say he loved his captors. He clearly was blindsided by the trade and didn’t support it.

He got the Don Chaney special, huh?

Good point - we don't always know what insiders may know. It's possible a guy like Kidd (given the shocking move from Luka) could somehow be more available than we realize.

between espn and tnt the only people I like are Breen and Harlan. Reggie has been trying really hard to be objective but still fails.

everyone else including shaq and chuck can retire at this point.

Good thing TNt lost the nba. 25 years of Barkley bashing the Knicks f that fat f.

I loved Barkley for the longest time. But it seems lately he just wants lazy, controversial takes rather than anything insightful

always thought Shaq was a dummy. He was one of the most dominant guys I ever saw but never really worked on his game and was and is a megalomaniac

I truly hated the van gundys as analysts. their schtick was tiresome and I know JVG is popular around here but (a) never got it done even with super talented squads and (b) the schtick about no blood, no foul etc. c'mon you quit; you're a phony. he was better than his brother Stan though

This would have been the Ousmane Dieng, Jalen Williams, Jalen Duren draft where Knicks used assets to get space for Brunson.

Briggs loved that guy.

he has turned into quite the player.

you barely see Dieng mentioned though who was the guy OKC picked with our slot

I was referring to Cooper fLagg. Why wouldn't Kidd prefer to run with that guy, AD, Kyrie etc.

As I mentioned before I have to imagine they would not have fired Thibs without having already sorted out who the coach would be, what he would do with the roster, etc. How could they get into that depth with Kidd who is currently employed. I get it there could be some back room dealing, but can't imagine at this level with Kidd.

That said, I love the idea of him

Giannis loves Kidd about as much as any player loves a former coach … this is pretty heavily documented

this is a good point. I forgot about that

What about Cooper though. You don't think Kidd wants to coach him with far less pressure than Knicks will create

Not beating top tier teams is not a reason unto itself. Why we did not is.

The list is pretty long man. Whether you choose to accept it is on you.

Its our speculations or interpretations. Im get that. Just wish to know details thats all.
I accept it. Not the first time this happens.
