Obi has a great 2nd quarter. He got a lot of boards and helped us go one that run.

Thanks. I'm just watching the box scores. Will Brunson and Grimes be able to walk or run tomorrow? Saw Josh Hart with limited minutes ..

If Hart breathed they called a foul on him. Ref vendetta. He couldn't get the mins bc of the fouls

If that's the case, let's put Deuce in for a few minutes to set hard, bone-crunching moving screens on Lowry or Vincent, just like Bam, just to get the refs attention.

I don't understand why they won't play him. His perimeter defense can help

Live another day….

- Brunson offense simply amazing basically an offense in himself
- RJ really playing solid/smart/tough basketball to a kid I’ve been very hard on (changing my mind)
- Julius —— don’t care about any stats he stunk. Went to bench we down 10 and immediately score 13 straight
- Grimes — some bonehead plays and odd decisions defensively but kudo’s to going 48 with positive play
- Mitch - solid effort but brutal offense—— pin the tail on the donkey from FT but Mitch is likable
- Thibs tried hard to blow this game —— thought numerous bad decisions

Now need game of our lives Friday — maybe that 1 is Julius for 48 (who knows)

Let's go Knicks!

The Knicks played solid basketball after the first quarter. While they still relied heavily on Brunson/RJ/Randle, the game played out differently with Hart off the floor. It added some element of unpredictability - certainly the Heat have spent a fair amount of time trying to neutralize Hart's all around contributions that their game plan was thrown off a bit by this change. Grimes had a very solid (fantasy) stat line. While he didn't score a lot, he had 5 assists, 4 rebounds, 2 steals and 2 blocks - basically he was deeply involved in the game with numbers you'd expect Josh Hart to contribute.

We dodged bullets with our weak free throw shooting. We can't blame it on Mitch. It's understood that his free throw % is like a good baseball batting average. No reason why the Knicks couldn't go with Hartenstein if need be. But the erratic free throw shooting of Randle and RJ is a little disappointing. (RJ generally came through today).

Looking forward:
* We need just 1 win. 1 win means we get to play again. 1 win regains us home court advantage. No one said we had to win game 3 or 4.
* Miami has 2 opportunities to close out this series, though they have to be worried that momentum has swung a bit. The Knicks controlled game 5 for the last 3 quarters.
* Knicks team health - Grimes may have hurt his knee/leg. The good news is that Randle and Brunson are looking healthier.
* Still very low output from the Knicks bench - previously touted (at least by me) as the best bench in the NBA. We're seriously getting away from our the formula we used when we were at our best during the regular season.

These games are little fun - Heat like starving hyenas setting illegal screens and biting ankles

Been my main problem for 3 years.

Just posted a sentiment that reflects that. The 3/defensive breakdown is more deadly than Butler is, especially with us having had a double digit lead.

We were leaving guys - particularly Robinson/Love wide open.

Brunson over helping on numerous occasions or just leaving him and Julius caring about 70% with Love

Thibs post game press conference chose not to get a fine critiquing the refs. Take the fine and blast the refs for letting Miami allowing moving pics and other things. Take the fine.

I don’t we were down 10 at end of Q1 - Obi came in and I think we went on 13-0 run.

Thibs would run Hart and Grimes until their feet are ground down to the ankles before Duncan Robinson would see the court.

And we’d never screen for Dunkin — he would never get a 3 off with us. LOL

It really would/could —— he hasn’t hurt us at all, past few months but Thibs limits him to 30 sec intervals

This game was a real emotional rollercoaster. The refs need to go back to ref school.

30 secs is actually an improvement. Before long Thibs will start giving 1 to 2 minutes. 😱

So at least whatever happens to the series we've gotten a better RJ, a functional Obi (with some good spurts), Grimes hopefully in a breakout. IQ got hurt but of all our second team he seemed to have made the least progress (and lost several mil in the process) and Deuce still needs time.
