Harris might be a nice buy low guy. Thibs would love his defense. But his three point shooting has been all over the and he gets injured a lot.

Agree - I would pass on both as trade options but Oladipo would be worse IMO

I'm all for gathering assets (draft picks), our future should be prioritized over our present because any trade off for improving our present at the expense of the future is the trap the Knicks have fallen into for decades. I'd love to KEEP Randle and let the young guys get playing time, draft more youth/depth, create competition, sign a free agent or two in the future to help plug weaknesses. The top teams now have a few years before they fall(except Philly), I'd like to be the young team ready to fill that void, fa's will flock here.

I'm down with trading Frank and Knox for a solid long term piece. I still think we need to address 2 issues: PG play and a solid 3 & D glue guy at the 3

+1
Winning as a result of attempting to win. Along with working diligently on stopping the other team from putting the round thing in the hole.
Imagine that.

Ya’ll are too much.

Tank one more year, get really good talent, this isn’t a normal draft. It’s really to good to get on your high horses.....

It’s so good the knicks should probably consolidate both this years pick and that 2023 pick and try to get into the top five.

The algorithm gives and the algorithm takes away

Maybe we should just forfeit all the games and watch the G-League?

To quote a fabled former poster, "play stupid games, win stupid prizes".
You have no assurance of Cade. Or anyone else.

We could tank and end up 8th. Again.

Oh, and let me know how your conversation with Thibs would go over about tanking.

We can package picks, and move up without tanking. Would rather give up an extra second rounder, or give up a player, the franchise is OK with trading.

This franchise has no "muscle memory" when it comes to winning, or the playoffs. Cant keep kicking that can down the road.

Very difficult to trade this year. Many teams have no picks to trade. Most teams are within 3 games of each other. Not worth it to force a trade. Team can beat most teams and has gotten better with rose — no Utah or la in east

Moving up in the draft is very rare. Few teams do it and few teams move down.
If a draft is heavy with PG’s, and say team has start young PG like Memphis or ATL, then perhaps they move down.....Knick have to be damn strong conviction for a specific player to concentrate assets for that young man!

Just about every year there's somebody people think is worth tanking a season away to draft. FYI, 40% of last year's All-NBA team were drafted 15th or lower.

This is true. It's also true that NBA Championships are won by an elite and limited number of players, most all of whom are drafted in top 5.

I love these takes.

I'll just insert New York Knicks as a tweet woo woo"

Yeah, it’s a weird take!

This is true. It's also true that NBA Championships are won by an elite and limited number of players, most all of whom are drafted in top 5.

And if my calculations are correct, out of the last 10 NBA championships, only two elite top five drafted players won rings for the team who drafted them: Wade/Miami and Irving/Cleveland. Not counting Lebron in Cleveland since he left and came back.

So there are multiple avenues to get those elite players other than tanking: find them outside of the top five, trade for them, sign them as a free agent.

If somehow when the trade deadline passes and the young core of mitch, randle, rj, Quickley and toppin are still in the roster and by some miracle they are able to add Lonzo ball(trading payton in the process) get Mo bamba to back up Noel while mitch is out and somehow trade for Lavin and still leave a first round draft pick for the next 5 years, that is a team i want to see grow for the next 5 years. Can we atart holding on to players and stop the revolving doors for a chance. Can the front office embrace some form of roster stability and see how this group can grow together
