I don’t even need mandatory minutes for all of them. Just don’t play 8 guys 40 minutes a game. The algorithm gives and the algorithm takes away

We don’t know how good RJ got. We don’t know if Julius decided to bring his brain to camp. Maybe the whole media stuff around Mitch is BS and he comes in and dominates on defense and turns into a monster. OK, probably not but you get the point. It is easy to see a scenario where RJ averages over 20 a game on better shooting and the better he plays, the better off the team will be. Obviously none of these things can happen too.... and then we have no choice but to tank..... again. “Whenever I’m about to do something, I think ‘Would an idiot do that?’ and if they would, I do NOT do that thing.”- Dwight Schrute

![]() No tanking.
1. It was never a guarantee of much (only about 25% of the time did the worst team win the first pick) and it's even less of a guarantee now in the new lottery odds. Try to win. If you lose, ok you can live with it if the team shows effort. If you lose on purpose you lose the locker room, lose the vets, and lose respect. Everything in moderation. Even moderation.

The surrounding cast are mostly new journeymen, young guys, flawed guys, or a combination of the three. All of whom also have to learn and execute a new offense and defense. The Knicks still need better PG play and they didn’t get a star/reliable scorer on the roster. The FO wisely weighed that against good picks and only made the caveat to take on talent that could drag us to many wins if they got a sweetheart deal (aka Westbrook with assets coming to the Knicks or Hayward on a Two - Three year deal). Instead they rolled the money on, got guys who might be tradeable and kept it moving. Recognize this year for the rebuild/development year it is. The algorithm gives and the algorithm takes away

![]() Road games an miles not understandable so we tilt toward the familiar? “Conspiracy/Tank”?
What are the other teams that us are hitting the road? They in the same boat as us? We usually only look at things thru our lens. LIke “Leon does not talk to the fans”. Do other teams talk to theirs? What about knicks requesting they hit the road. Gives them more attendance later in the year if fans allowed back in the building. Remember, its a business being run too. Benefits beyond revenue? We gonna suck early so get it out of the way. Team can be better later and at home its easier. Some teams are tired from late bubble playoff runs. Are they given a better earlier schedule? Are the other teams “Screwed” also non bubble teams? 8 teams did not play a game since Last march. They are rested. Tanking: This team won’t tank. That does not mean they will go out and get veteran burnout players to make a short term run to mediocrity with old players. This is the roster as it is. Play them hard. If Frank and Dennis don’t cut it, move on. I see Randle starting and its on Obi to take his job Same with Mitch. If the wins happen thats great. If not, we keep on keeping on. Funny, for how long we been including mitch as some untouchable future god and now in the span of two weeks he is an Agent Succubus with a questionable work ethic? Let the games begin! |

![]() Sambakick wrote:No tanking. So many interpretations around the word tanking and what it means to different people. Knicks HAVE to solidify a top 5 pick. This is the 2003 draft again; LeBron, Melo, Bosh, Wade. After that you have a pick of Darko, Kaman, TJ Ford, Hinrich, Sweetney, Jarvis Hayes in top 10. Think any of Denver, Cleveland, Miami, Toronto would have played to win a few more games for the 10 seed in the draft lotto? Play the kids. Play everyone. Just don't overachieve. ![]() There was a funny Alan Hahn interview on Knicksfan TV, especially when Frank was brought up (there's an ongoing thing among fans that Alan Hahn hates Frank):

![]() martin wrote:Sambakick wrote:No tanking. Look at the NYGiants as an example. Nobody is saying they wish the Giants would have gone 1-15 this year. This is such a valuable year for the young players on the team. They're playing meaningful games in December and just notched maybe their best win in 8 years in a game they were given no shot of winning. All Giants fans are happy they have a good growing team and no body is whining about not being in position to draft Trevor Lawrence. The new lottery odds don't overly penalize teams that try to win. Didn't the 7th or 8th worst record move up to draft Zion and Morant two years ago? Or am i misremembering? There's no reason no to over-achieve if your team is actually good enough. The worst thing to do would be to take a team that is playing the kids and doing great and putting the breaks on them on purpose. My ideal scenario has the knicks fighting for a respectable finish, and getting a little lucky in June when the lottery is held. I think any of the Top 8 players coming out this year could've gone #1 last year. Everything in moderation. Even moderation.

![]() Knicks Fan Tv saying:
-PG rotation is looking like DSj as starter, Payton as backup, Frank unlikely at that spot -Unfortunately the Mitch rumors seem true, org isn't happy, he hasn't come into camp in the best spirits- he's got to get it together -Knox looks good -Buddy Hield for Randle and Frank rumors was legit- from 3 sources, including the whole team thought it was going down (that was last week when the rotor broke). Seems to have fizzled out (maybe draft compensation was the sticking issue), maybe keep an eye open for it later in the season. |

![]() smackeddog wrote:Knicks Fan Tv saying: Also mentioned RJ looked just as good as Obi when it comes to conditioning. I’m personally stuck when it comes to Hield. I love the player but having him at the 2 and RJ at the 3? Yeah that gives us shooting and RJ the extra spacing he needs really bad but that’s so small. How are we going to guard LeBron or Kawhi when we make it to the NBA finals this season? “Whenever I’m about to do something, I think ‘Would an idiot do that?’ and if they would, I do NOT do that thing.”- Dwight Schrute

![]() As a frank fan, I do this deal for Heild. I know many of you wanted to flush Dennis but that talent has a high ceiling. RJ to me has the potential for an elite 3. NO doubt he can move over and if Knox gets right you have choices.
SAC wants draft pick? Not at those prices. They can flip Frank for a pick. I hope Frank does find his space and sticks. Was always happy Ariza had a good career as well as Gallinari. If the knicks are going to improve we have to move forward. Helield makes THjr type money. Avg Shooting guard wage. Sac should have figigure Bogo out before this but thats their problem. As for Mitch, well well doesn’t this suck. Seems more times than not these guys find themselves where they are suppose to be. This kid for all his talent should have gone to a top notch school but he didn’t. He could not stay but two weeks at Kentucky. Western Kentucky! From Wiki: In July 2017, Robinson had enrolled at Western Kentucky University for the summer semester, and practiced with the team for about two weeks before a planned team trip to Costa Rica. Sources then indicated that he had left campus, and his room was cleaned out.[12] He was then suspended indefinitely for violating the team rules.[13] After speaking with head coach Rick Stansbury, he was granted a release to transfer,[14] and barring an unexpected decision by the NCAA, would have had to sit out the 2017–18 season. I know we all counted our lucky stars with this one. He was our “scratch and dent”. Thought the scratch was on the back and nobody would see it. Come to find out the defect is on the “Mother board” and there is something wrong. The signs were there all along so we should not be suprised. I suppose if Mills was still here we’d blame him. LOL. As a second round pick we did not blow anything so its no big deal. I suppose this is no secret so its not like “We should have traded him when his value was high”. No, his reputation is on him via team USA. Also there are times when Agents have to be frank with clients. Klutch might have not been all to happy with him either or his effort. Agents make investments in there clients getting them ready for a pay day. If players don’t reciprocate the effort its could very well been them dialing it back and just as happy to see him leave. Maybe they wanted hm in LA trining with “A” listers but he instead wants to hoist up 3’s vs midgets and get loved for it. T |
