After last nights mess up, Suns and Wiz have sorted out a trade without the Griz:

I presume this is a chemistry move for the Wiz to try and sort out their locker room. Suns get a PG who expires after this season, and Oubre. Maybe they trade away Josh Jackson in another deal.

They weren't going to resign Oubre, so this trade makes sense. I don't think he was the cause of the chemistry problems. People worry about his off the court interests being distracting. But he doesn't sound like a bad teammate. I doubt this moves the Wiz past mediocrity. I wonder if we could bring Josh Jackson in for two second-rounders?

Raps/Pacers was an amazing game. Great to see two teams get after it on d like these teams. Green was a huge addition for the raps. Turner and Oladipo are going to be very good for a long time.

Wizards showed a lot of character to get the win. Beal and Bryant were amazing.

Nets have their own pick for the first time in years. Losing gives them a higher chance of a higher pick, which their franchise badly needs right now (I'll wager they miss out in free agency). If you're not a championship contender and aren't really a playoff contender then yes you need to tank to give yourself the best shot at adding talent to your roster.

Interesting note in regards to trading for Antonio Davis:

https://www.si.com/nba/2018/12/26/anthony-davis-pelicans-trade-rumors-lakers-warriors-celtics-lebron-james?utm_campaign=thecrossover&utm_medium=social&xid=socialflow_twitter_si&utm_source=twitter.com

The Celtics are lined up as the Lakers' prime competition for Davis, but due to a quirk in the collective bargaining agreement, they cannot trade for him as long as Kyrie Irving is also playing under a designated player extension -- effectively until July 1.

Means if Boston to make Davis trade, it would have to be AFTER they make their first round picks this coming draft.

But you always say that it tanking creates bad habits and its not a good thing. Other than you likely don't care about the nets, why is it good for them to tank but not us?
They have a style and a system because they have had the same coach now a while and a few players they are committing to. Your seeing results and thus can say its a system. We have a system but little results so your label its nothing. Because of that Nets are a bit further ahead in one area, but they did not draft deep young talent. They got Lavert and Dinwiddle along with Russell and were patient with them over two years. You get not half a season into a new era and your all up in arms aflame in your distain.

This sounds like a typical knick still thinkING the draft is the only way out of misery..

the NETS players are progressing and developing nicely and it shows in the win loss column.

Mills said hE's pretty happy with our development, because our guys are not getting down on themselves after losses...Thats a good sign for him....LMFAO..THEY DONT GIVE A FCK WHETHER THEY LOSE OR NOT..

Did you think Boston would make a run this season for davis? No doubt Celtics are a bit overloaded with Talent and the redundancy is not easy to manage along with egos and expiring contracts.
They are prime to make a big deal.
In my fantasy pea brain I see one thing we have that could be attractive to the Pels and its KP. Im not down for trading him but for AD that's a different story. Pel get back a star they can sell to their fan/ticketbuyer/sponsers. Lakes and Celtics don't have that. Its not straight up deal as we'd have to send something else but usually you trade a top tier player you want an allstar in return and another starter. Lakers have Ingram, ball and Kuzma. Nice young core but no allstar. Celtics I doubt trade Haywood and could move Tatum as its centerpiece but he is not an allstar. The kid might still be an alltime great but that's not something you can sell right away. Trading Davis for picks and prospects is deflating to its fan base. Nola has yet to taste success as a franchise and thus has to still look at things not exclusively as winning formula but as an entertainment company.
KP would have to be resigned and be down with that move. Im not saying it will happen at all, but just a scenario that makes sense for the Pel's. I really don't know if Pels are thinking like this or down to do a deep long change with yoot and picks. If so then Im way off base.

When has the knicks built a team thru the draft and stayed with it?
and if its been a while, how can you call it "Typical"?
Typical was the 54 win woodson starphuch retirement season you so lovingly like to recall.

Good podcast with some Knick stuff in there. Sam and his partner talk about a couple of Hardaway trade scenarios as part of the pod.

It's been awhile. Like 30 years. Howsabout listing the 1st round draft picks since Ewing the knicks were supposed to build a team around?

I think "Typical" is a reference to the prevailing fandom approach to collecting shiny new things via the lottery and then rooting brainlessly for home-cooking as opposed to inheriting or buying other people's stuff.

54 wins and a division title is all we have to show since Ewing/Sprewell. Unless a star with a cool nickname and being in the lottery every year is your preference.
Which leads to even more new shiny things, I get it.

And yes, I'll be the first on the shiny thing brainlessly rooting bandwagon should someone fix the ping pong balls so we get the new Jesus of Mount Zion. The Golden Zoobie?
