Maybe it's time to move on. Seems like every thread is a Hate Melo thread. What do you think?

I tend to agree with you, but I'd be willing to try it for a few weeks and see how it feels.

And maybe a break would give them the opportunity to come up with fresh, new reasons for Melohate/KnickSomerism.

To be fair I think people should be more neutral in regards to melo. Yes there are some who hate on melo BUT there are some who also are never critical of him.

Wanting what's best for the organization is not being critical of Melo

It's a fact that he is older and it would be wise not to max him out

Yeah, there aren't even some (plural) who hate him. I'm not sure about TKF but I know everyone else here wants him back at the right price.
yea your right... I wonder how TKF feels abou that

I thought he did give a figure around $12 mil per but I could be wrong.
Regardless, "some" typically implies plural

I believe that he said that he doesn't want him at any price.

Maybe he said that. I don't know why it bothers people to a point where they would start threads complaining about it.

I don't know why it bothers people to the point where they post about why they don't know why it bothers people to a point where they would start threads complaining about it.

I knew someone would do that. Starting new threads on the topic takes it to a whole new level though.

I believe that people find him irrational/illogical and just filled with hate.

As opposed the DK who is less emotional/less hate and has far more substance to his arguments.

You are pretty consistent in your belief that too many inefficient players get overvalued. Do you really need to come the defense of others so often? Its like treating them like little kids who can't battle alone.

Melo is having a more efficient year this year but thats not because he changed his style, he is just hitting more shots, especially from 3. I hope that Pjax will make him more of a team player.

There are a handful of posters who always come to the Melo-lovers defense too. You don't see that? I used to be in TKF's shoes - the one person that Fish and a few others attacked nonstop. I know how nasty it can get.
I've been posting here with TKF for over ten years now and I know how much he loves the team.

Exactly. It is fine to disagree with him. If it's not enough use the ignore feature.

I don't understand the need for all the extra drama and witch hunt stuff for less than a handful of posters. When hundred others post weekly

Yes. I do see that - I do not have a side and I just like seeing sane thought out arguments. The hate spewing and illogic that it turns into is kind of pathetic (this is for both illogical extremes). I was also surprised that when he makes arguments about players like Iverson, you are not willing to call him out on it.

And yes, there is that ignore feature but I also have a hard time not staring at a six car pileup.

so here is what phil is thinking ....

That's the problem. It's extremists arguing back and forth with each other and getting no where. Been going on since day one of the Melo era

yea.. substance. This was one of my favorites:
DK: Melo is not a top player
Fish: How does the dude go to the all star game every year?
DK: Its a popularity contest. As opposed to the GMs and writers who vote for the all-NBA teams
Fish: Ok.. Melo beat out Paul George last year (2nd all NBA team vs. George voted third). So hows that?
DK: They got it wrong.

Or the 1000s of posts stating how Melo is not a max player... not even close, and no team is going to give him the max. Then I say really? Betcha a $100, then that Melo gets the max.
DK/Bonn: He was just "guessing" Melo doesnt get the max.

We could do this all day, and Bonn you are the master of agreeing to things like that... and nobody attacked you on this board for your viewpoints. You were asked about 1000 times to quit being a snitty poster, saying nothing and purposely getting under people's skin. When you continued people treated you like a snitty poster who says nothing and tries to get under people's skin... maybe you have a bookmarked thread that disputes that.

Its not "this board" or "these guys"

Its life. If your steadfast in your defense of something that almost nobody else agrees with or believes, and you advertise those beliefs on a forum set up to embrace the opposite your going to get flack. If you continue to do that after being brushed back your going to get more flack. Eventually if you persist it will get more hostile. I would think smart guys like yourselves would have the self awareness and understanding of your surroundings to understand this. Clearly not as they have already left/exiled/kicked out of other KNick forums for their always openminded views on Melo.

For what it's worth. Was just talking to a knowledgeable Bulls fan. Told her Melo might be going there but she wanted nothing to do with him. Just wants Derrick Rose to get healthy

Jeez, and I thought mrainman was finally on to something here...

Imagine a board full of centrists:

Nalod: "Hey, not to be off-topic, but I find that I really really like JJ's jumper!"
Centrist1: "True that! Smooth like silk!"
NonExtreme: "And people said he wasn't a max player! Fools!"
IKindaSortaLikeMelo: "That Brooklyn owner owns our little troll! "
whoreallycares: "Hey, what about AK47 straight up for Tyler! Any takers?"
JR'sMaybeAFoolToday: "I seriously doubt their are incentive bonuses in Toure Murray's contract"
LinWasNiceButItsOver: "Anyone know if Chris Smith is playing in Bulgaria?"
I'mFinallyOverTheTrade: "Could the power of Phil still get Dick Harter as an assistant coach, even if he's dead?"
StatsAreMyLife: "Tyson has better off the court metrics than Gallo"

I tend to agree with you, but I'd be willing to try it for a few weeks and see how it feels.

And maybe a break would give them the opportunity to come up with fresh, new reasons for Melohate/KnickSomerism.

To be fair I think people should be more neutral in regards to melo. Yes there are some who hate on melo BUT there are some who also are never critical of him.

I don't want him at any price... I don't like the way he plays, I don't like his vibe at all. for 12 mil, I would like a Loul deng, Iggy, paul george type player.... if possible, I like the two way forwards especially those who can defend the wings, and initiate offense for others... And preferable one who is younger than carmelo. I just rather start fresh here... can he help another team? I am sure he can, but I want to move along without him....

you hate his hair too. Dont forget that insufferable way he doesnt totally tuck in his shirt.

I think most every GM around the league would agree that Deng or Iggy are much better building blocks that Carmelo Anthony. Good insight.

A lot more good posters have retreated because of the constant negative BS from people that barely watch the games. Remember HARDCORE, Marv, vdesai? fishmike is one of the few from the original group that is still posting regularly. Yes, the forum lost some that were pissed because we traded for Melo but lot more slowed down on posting because they would get attacked anytime they said something nice about the Knicks.
A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.
Maybe it's time to move on. Seems like every thread is a Hate Melo thread. What do you think?
