Cant fault Woodson for last year because Melo was the only guy capable of scoring but I have not been impressed this year with how the team plays without Felton. Its like Woodson is not earning his paycheck and just relying on his players

So frustrating. Yet Chicago and Indiana get buy without their best players

im not trying to rag on woodson, but thibadeoux is already a top coach in this league and vogel is proving to be a stud in the making. woodson is good, but he's not a top coach, he'll never leave his mark on a team like those 2 guys will.

we spent 4 games in a playoff series repeatedly trying (and failing) to force feed melo in the post. that was when we should have all started suspecting perhaps Woody isn't a master tactician...

You sound silly and uninformed.

who the hell are you?

I love when people resort to the "who are you" ad hominem attacks on message boards. LoL!

i love when people resort to the "silly and uninformed" on message boards. LoL!

If the shoe fits...

My recollection of last years playoffs is all the pg's being injured, Amar'e having one hand and Chandler being flu ridden and lacking anything resembling an offensive game. Thus, my simple questions is, who exactly was Woodson supposed to run the offense through? Also, we were playing the Heat, you know the team that beat the Thunder 4 - 1 in the finals and also had arguably the best and quickest defense in the league... I am all for reasonable criticism of the Knicks but crying about iso Melo last year in the playoffs is simply silly.

I personally wasn't saying it was dumb to try to put the ball into Melo's hands.

Just that we were basically posting him up. The Celtics were denying him the ball. We spent massive amounts of time every possession trying to force the ball into him and never made an adjustment/

There were more creative ways to get the ball in his hands no?

Everyone in the building knew the ball was going to Melo and the Heat are a great defensive team. There was no manner to get the Melo the ball where he would not be swarmed. I also recall Melo getting the ball in the post and on the perimeter. The Knicks were pretty much screwed when all their pg's suffered injuries.

I think this year Woody has enough personnel to compete and the Knicks have beat the Heat twice. Going forward Amar'e should get better and Felton should be back. This team will only get better and last year's playoffs are largely irrelevant and are no indication of how this current team will perform or how good or bad of a coach Woody is.

I have said a few times that the loss of Felton has slowed the team for a while, however, the anti-felton crowd refuses to give Felton any credit.

Everyone agrees they miss Felton greatly. Its just scary that we depend on 1 player so much with one of the highest payrolls in the league

Enough with the dumb Felton reaches. He sux as much as the knicks do. If we are relying on Felton to make us better, we r PHUCKED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

You don't understand how the knicks team is made up then.

I know how they are made up.

You do not know much about Felton.

When he comes back, the knicks will go on a mini run and he will be the same sh1t when it counts. AWFUL! Trying to be a JR like hero.

Agreed. he is a momentum killer. we were up 5 and then he came in and gave up some soft baskets. I love the guy but he can barely move

The less he plays the slower and wider he gets

I said a few months back that when Amar'e gets back he will greatly impact the offense, pull down a few more boards and give a block or two a game. When Felton gets back I fully expect Amar'e to go nuts with PnR jumpers, dunks and layups.

I also love that Shump is pulling down boards in traffic and shooting well.

These things will go a long way to curing a few of the Knicks glaring issues (rebounds, perimeter defense and paint scoring).

before felton got hurt, he was really pissing me off. too much bringing the ball up and taking his own shot instead of looking to get others involved. he should never be taking 15+ shots a game. if he could just somehow limit that stuff to only 50% of the time and only do it half of what he was, then i think he looks alot better and so do the knicks.

Exactly. Yet so many people can't seem to comprehend it. It's not about an individual but the effect he has on the team as a whole and how he fulfills the needs of the team.

Thats all the boos Melo got? Humphries got more at the Nets game
Knicksfan: Hypocrite league that fines players after the game for flopping but in the game and with obvious flopping they call the fouls.

the knciks need to win this game. we need to go on a 5 or 6 game winning streak because we have been mediocre this past month. I hate the nets but they are on fore right now.

Not with Amare back

I have to admit that Amare can help but lets see when/if he plays in the playoffs.

I still think that Amare and Tyson on the court at the same time is just off.

Yep with Amare back there is no reason for him to shoot more than 10-12 shots a game. Knicks really miss the little things he brings that don't show up in the stat sheet. If only he can cut down on the shots even if teams are level him open. He is not an efficient scorer. Just penetrate finish and dish. Run pick n rolls with Amare and Tyson to death. Set Melo up instead of having Melo run the offense

Very happy to have the lead at the half. Seemed like we were missing a lot...won't say "easy", but very make-able shots.

Amar'e looking very good so far, on both ends. The zone has definitely looked good, but Pierce, Terry, even Lee can shoot us out of it if they catch fire in the second half.

Melo forcing things, but I've been happy with how he and STAT seemed to have found a way to coexist. He's been rebounding, but C's definitely looking to pester him any way imaginable.

I love Shump. He broke Boston's momentum in the 2nd after they rallied to take the 40-34 lead. HUGE 3's.

My expectations have not been lowered because of Boston's 20-21 record. This is a big time game. Let's close it out in the 2nd half!

And it should go without saying, but **** Pierce, **** KG, **** Boston. That is all.

Amar'e has 11 points, 7 boards and 2 blocks in the first half. He is looking really good out there, imo.

+1
JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.
