yes... well, with Gallo leading the Nuggets up the standings folks can no longer laugh about the garbage role players we gave up. So now lets focus on draft picks which will surely yield nothing.

and I hope its me... I honestly do. If Melo leads the Knicks to the finals, or hell, even to a game 6 or 7 in the conference finals I will most happily buy two rounds at Stout (33rd) for the most die hard Melo minions. Because thats a tiny price to pay for a lot of good playoff basketball to get to that point. Book it dude...

Sadly, and speaking of ebs and flows things are returning back to normal arent they? Melo hasnt played defense in a month, and Melo's great games are followed by those 8-25 shooting nights where he still manages 20ish points to keep up that precious scoring average his minions and MVP touters will cling to.

People here really think I hate the guy, I dont and never have. I just dont think he's the caliber of player you can build a team around. Ive never seen it. Impossible to win in the playoffs when the player you so heavily rely on is totally inconsistent.

Like I said... hope Im wrong. Cheers to the first 5 minions if Im wrong.

Pathetic!! Way to point out 1 thing I said out of the 11 things I listed. When can't argue focus on something completely out of context. Really thought some of you were smarter than that... welp.

For reading comprehension, I was building upon the point I made in my first post "Tired of hearing about draft picks. How many do you watch college basketball, because the upcoming drafts are weak!" Not this upcoming draft, the next few drafts. That quote was to further point out how weak the upcoming prospects are ... it just focuses on this draft! I tell you, some of you need help. Like I said ... facts. Whether we have our pick this year or next year it doesn't change the fact that whoever we draft will most likely have little impact .. but draft picks keep being brought up.

Try reading before making blind assumptions. I wasn't hardly focused on draft picks ... I took yall arguments and asked questions. But okay ...

How can anyone say the next few up coming drafts are weak when the best players play for teams like Kentucky for 1 year and bolt to the nba at 19?

Athletes fight all the time in sports. Why are you singling melo out as someone who is now habitually susceptible to having his head played with, because of one incident? He is a human being, not a pre-programmed robot who is incapable of having a bad day. Jeez.

So the "everyone does it" defense. Except that not everyone does it. Not even close.

There are certain players we know can be provoked. Artest for one. Danny Ainge when he was playing. So not everyone is the same. And one thinks that it can be controlled if it is an important game? Reality shows it's not the case. Remember Zinedine Zidane in the World Cup Final headbutting the Italian defender Marco Matterazzi? Materaazzi had said something about his mom and sister. Well Zidane got ejected from the game and France lost. The World Cup Final is only every four years, and has a much bigger worldwide audience than the Super Bowl. People are assasinated at times in their own country for making mistakes (Colombia). So yeah, certain players can be provoked much easier than others, and it can be done at crucial times to the detriment of their team.

Im not using it as a "defense"...im wondering why you are singling out melo to the exclusion of others? Almost every major athlete has gotten into an altercation during their careers, varying in significance. Your conclusion about Melo isnt holding if you are measuring him with a standard different then other athletes. Comparing Melo to Artest is ridiculous.

Gallo been sucking most of the current season and a large part of last year. I am glad Gallo decided to show up in Jan. 2013 though. LoL!

No one will acknowledge this... too busy picking and choosing what stats, months, or arguments to focus on. I'll admit he's playing good this month, happy for him. It's weak to wish ill will on someone ... not that type of person. But it's hard to ignore his inconsistency ... something the denver post and other sports outlets have pointed out on a number of occasions...but i guess it's just Knick haters. I think some of you should visit denverstiffs and get the nuggets fans perspective on things, especially when they are losing.

It's been plenty of discussions from long-time scouts who advise trading your pick this year and even coaches and analyst who have concerns about the new few drafts based on who's in college now and the incoming freshmen. I haven't found or listened to 1 person who says the 2013 draft class is anything close to 2012 ...

We are one month into the college basketball season, and if you are a NBA draftnik like us, you might be losing hope. With no clear No. 1 prospect at the top of the draft, the inevitable "what's happened to all the talent in college hoops?" debates have begun.

Fast forward to 2014 .... and it's a huge drop off between 1-6 and 6-10. But basically if you're not in the top 10 ... don't look for someone to make an huge impact like Shump or Faried.

“The draft lottery was always supposed to be about exceptional players going to the worst teams,” said one of the scouts. “We’ve eroded the concept of ‘exceptional’ – exceptional doesn’t really exist anymore.”

Both scouts say that erosion can be traced to the so-called “one-and-done” rule that governs draft eligibility. Under the collective-bargaining agreement, U.S. players can’t be in the draft until they’re at least one season removed from their high school graduating class.

The unintended consequence of that, these scouts say, is players with pro aspirations now consider one season of college ball the maximum they should stay.

“Now they think one season is the ceiling, not just the floor,” one scout said. “That creates a problem.”

The problem, both said, is while this is better than kids turning pro out of high school, you’re still using high picks on players a long way from finished products. The days when a Tim Duncan, Grant Hill or Chris Mullin entered the NBA, with a clear understanding of how those players would fit, are long over.

Anyway, not really trying to focus on this 1 point out of several others...just asked how many of the posters actually watch college basketball and think it's as strong as the past ... As a fan of the Knicks, I wish the draft was going to be strong, it's just not looking good.

That's the problem when people have agendas...I'm not saying Denver is screwed... I'm saying for the Knicks and all the other teams as well... the draft picks are not a good thing to be so focused on and upset about. This is why the Nets had no problem giving theirs up. You don't think they have ppl studying these things??

This thread is silly. I was a huge supporter of Gallo and hated trading him. The truth is he IS INCONSISTENT. It is too bad. We always blamed in on MDA for the way he was used but no, It is him. The Melo trade was a no-brainer in hindsight. I say this and I am still not convinced that Melo is a championship caliber player but he is better than he was.

Without Melo, you never get chandler, much less Kidd and the other vets.

Amare started it all. NY paid a premium for him to get respect. It worked.

I am happy for Lee and Crawford. THey are doing well and I would trade Amare for Lee today but at the time, NY had to do what they did.

Stalking? Don't flatter yourself over some internet discussion board buillsh**... You responded to Fish about what I wrote and agreed so I addressed both of you. It's really not that deep, I barely discuss things with you and when I do it's on an adult level backed with facts instead of just spitting out agenda **** or baseless opinions, but you easily forget things so I don't expect you to acknowledge that.

And further more ... I really didn't even look at your name when I responded .. just the fact that you stated "good call" about something that was taken out of context and flipped into something irreverent...but add me to whatever list, don't care an ounce about that. Not about to argue about how the knicks are screwed or this n that on a "Knicks" forum, especially when they're 2nd in the east...how stupid is that.

Knicks couldn't have signed Melo as a free agent. The Nuggets weren't going to get stuck like the heat and raps did the previous summer. Melo didn't want to wait for the new more restrictive cba that the owners were promising to get after the lockout.

the nuggets had no say if melo said, I am not resigning and I am leaving next season.. melo wanted money, years and to go to a city of his choice.. he wanted all 3, since that was the case it put denver in a position to then get some value, and boy did they.... good for them as they came off well and dolan got his toy...

The Nuggets didn't have a say unless they traded him at the deadline which was what they would have done. Melo would have had to give up a ton of money to leave as a free agent after the new cba was put into place (25 mil was the number they said Deron would have given up to go to Dallas). The Nuggets and Melo both wanted a deal by the trade deadline. Melo might not have been a Knick but he wouldn't have been a Nugget. You really can't ignore the economic climate and what had happened the previous summer to the raps and heat.

TKF and dk7th where are you?? Answer the man. I still believe you are the same person and I probably would be willing to put up money as a bet to prove it. Maybe let Martin hold it until I'm proven wrong or right.

THey are doing well and I would trade Amare for Lee today but at the time, NY had to do what they did.

gony, you see the money we offered chandler? believe me, that is how we got him...
I think for the most part guys follow the money....
