We saw first hand down the stretch Gallo winning a game by himself against NY when he came back. Gallo was the guy Denver wanted all along and they signed him to an extension. All the other guys were icing.
Melo has more game than Gallo, that is true. Melo has more pure talent. However, Gallo makes it up with his attitude and integrity. It's plain to see now, but I absolutely hated trading Gallo. Put him next to Stat and Chandler with Lin and you have something. The problem now is that Melo and Stat like the same spots on the floor and both of them see more help defense because of the other and Chandler. The spacing is poor. Melo can step out and hit the occassional 3 but its not his game. Gallo on the other hand, stands out there, thus creating space for STAT and when he has to he takes it to the rim very effectively. The perfect piece to the MDA offense. Oh and Gallo actually tries on defense and actually does a decent job. Gallo also takes the last shot without hesitation.
We should have known 2 years ago when Melo came in with Denver and Gallo matched him man to man at the end of the game. We saw it again this year only too bad, Gallo was in the other uniform.
This may go down as one of the worse trades in NY Knick history.
I was screaming that all along.. but most posters would just answer.. melo>> chandler, gallo and felton..
so OK..
sometimes NY fans deserve the mess this organization dishes out... birds of a feather...
but good analysis... now on another board, you have a contingent of people saying start baron davis because lin has more chemistry with the second unit.... rofl!! you mean the second unit that went 8-1? I have an idea, bench amare and melo and start lin and chandler with the second unit...
I at one point didn't think it was a bad idea to get melo as a FA.. but when the trade came up and we gave up everything including the rights to radio city music hall, i was pissed... for me, this is the worst trade in knicks history...
