If the Knicks hit more shots and their damn free throws down the stretch, they could've won this game. Hope this preps us for another 7 Wins.

Let's Take it out on the Mavs on Sunday, with Melo back and JR on the floor.

Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

You know it got to Fields head. He is so soft any change will disrupt his fragile rhythm. I don't think it got to Shump & Lin's heads as they are confident players. Not sure about Novak don't know much about his toughness but he was 1-8 from 3. Walker was like 0-5 but he just stinks

Knicks down by three with 3:30 to go...STAT setting a pick for Lin...Lin waved him off called Chandler to set the pick and went for his...Come on...This can't happen...Sure he has taken the big shots before...But a night when STAT is on..Lin isn't the go to guy or Chandler...And he kept going after that...

This is where the staff has to show Lin in film sessions and practice what is the smart play in those situations. Dude has been a starting NBA PG for about a minute. We've got to remember that Lin is virtually a rookie in terms of his NBA experience. He practically has none. What I do like is that he's a smart kid and is willing to learn and accepts his mistakes. It would help if he had someone to back him up too. I'm pulling for Baron to get healthy cuz his experience would really be a good thing for Lin and the team.

Lin has to know he isn't the first or second option on this team...I hope he isn't believing the hype...BD get healthy soon..

It's also not a good thing that the Knicks are seemingly always in these all out battles with these basement dwelling teams...

It's not but I think it has to do with not having enough shooters to put weaker teams away. Occasionally they get the pistons and kings and get hot from the perimeter but for the most part guys like Walker, Fields constantly miss wide open shots. Also since returning our D hasn't been as good when Amare is in the game which is scary especially with Melo returning. Holding bad teams to under 90 isn't really a great accomplishment

Bound to happen sooner or later. Hopefully this will give Lin a bit of a breather publicity wise, the pressure on him must be enormous. Teams are having a look at his game and figuring out his weaknesses. Lin is the kind of player who will work hard to make the necessary adjustments. Lin seems to run into trouble when he buries his head and lunges at the rim, can't see the trap. Fields looked shaky, that jumper did not look good. Shumpert showing why his offense isn't ready for prime time yet. He has the skills, just needs to develop it.

Stat has very little lift left, don't know if its permanent.. I wonder were he is going to be in a couple of seasons. As I mentioned earlier, I worry about the window on him and Chandler although I think Chandler has more time on the clock, he plays like it anyway.

My goodness!

Its funny how we demand consistency from our team and the first moment we see trouble, we revert back to dissing the team.

You really thought we would go undefeated with Lin?

Teams have off days where shots are not falling. New Orleans took us away from our winning game and what they gave to us, open shots, we simply were way off.

Now D'antony sucks, we are a losing team and Dallas and Miami will destroy us? Do you guys remember we are getting back Melo and also getting J.R?

Come on, fans! Show consistency and faith in your team. We know why we lost. We missed many opportunities and were sloppy, but we also know that with J.R. and Melo out there, the offense wont be stopped this same way.

Trust me he knows he isn't the 1st or 2nd option but last night no one was making their shots so he had to score.

Oh, and let me add that there were many positives:

1. Lin still made a solid line, even in an off game. Sure, the 9 turnovers are unacceptable, but we have to understand it will happen to him since he and all the team are still adjusting to each other. Even in the loss, Lin was leading us along with Stat. Can't wait for Melo to join the party.

2. Stat is getting closer. The guy just came back from a terrible personal situation and is still getting his legs back. He isn't here yet but is closer. He knows he hasto improve his D, but with us missing open shots, we needed him to carry us and he helped keeping us close at the end.

3. We missed many open looks, we missed free throws (the most alarming issue during Linsanity), we made lots of turnovers, New Orleans practically played a perfect game... and we still only lost by 4. This team won't quit. Again, imagine this with a better shooter and scorer in Carmelo. Also add J.R.'s shooting and penetrations. Can't wait.

Bottom line: We are getting Carmelo and J.R., which will make teams change their gameplan on us. It will be impossible for them to take Lin's game away and do the same with Carmelo's. Stop one, get burned by the other. J.R. will be huge with this, since he is exactly the kind of SG we need in a gam like this. They too the uptempo game away from us and Fields came crashing down.

If you aren't still excted about this team, especially with help underway, you have a deeper problem.

I am not sure who this is addressed to. What I find frustrating is that we couldn't pull the game out. If we want to be a good team we have to find ways to pull out games like these from bottomdweller teams. The spirit we saw over the last few games was just missing, it looked like old lethargic Knicks. It starts with bad defense from Amare, I think theteam feeds off of TOs the defense creates to build momentum, yesterday Amare was bystander watching people score as usual. Tyson looked like he was mad at Amare a couple times for being completely clueless. This was of course compounded by bad outside shooting and forced passes leading to TOs.

TKF on Melo ::....he is a punk, a jerk, a self absorbed out of shape, self aggrandizing, unprofessional, volume chucking coach killing playoff loser!!

I'm not sure who it's addressed to either! I thought people were being reasonable in this thread.

I thought the ROAD games against Minny and Toronto we pulled it out pretty good.

There are games were we lose, and games we get beat. NOLA beat us last nite.

To some degree we got role players who have some fragile aspects to them and might be unnerved that any slight mistake will be amplified with two players coming to eat their minutes and a third (davis) eventual.

Not everyone will play. It sucks, this mini run with Walker and Novak playing big roles is bittersweet for them!

Novak should stay in the rotation and I think D'an has stated it.

The game of our role players was taken to a higher level because of Lin's penetrations and passing. Make it harder for Lin and you make it harder for anybody else, especially when some are already off.

That's why it was foolish to disregard Carmelo and Amar'e during the Linsanity. Teams were going to adapt to Lin and our role players were going to be off at some point. When your main game is uptempo but you have no other pieces that can create their own shots, score in the low post, etc., you will suffer. This is why Melo and J.R. are so important for our future.
