Toney may be young and fast.... but he's one of the slowest decision makers i've ever seen at the point. and he picks up his dribble at the point.

i'd be willing to bet money toney isn't the starting point guard on christmas day in the morning.

i think bibby starts for a while, then hopefully baron.

Toney Douglas is a "paint by numbers" guard. Too deliberate and WAY too predictable.

The years Mike Bibby played with the immature Atlanta Hawks stunted his game. With a veteran team he can manage the floor much more effectively and not be depended on for as much. He has the ability to lead.

Shift Du Jour

Bibby
Shumpert
Carmelo
Stoudemire
The Big Fella

Landry Fields is the sixth man
Harrelson is nice
Jeffries is 6'11
Balkman is Back

Baron Davis like the big city.

earl, you and i are in complete agreement. and the knicks are back. 2012 really must be the apocalypse.

It's only one Preseason game but doesn't look like any improvement from TD or Fields.

One thing I'll say though is if they keep teams under 90 points most games their offensive inefficiencies can be covered. I recall one play where James spun into the lane and met Tyson Chandler with both arms raised which caused a walk. Last season that was a layup with no resistance.

Because of their defense abilities, I'd like to see a starting backcourt of TD at PG and Shump at the 2. I agree with others who have said that Shump is more of a 2. Our offense will come when we are intense on the defensive side. I'm not ready to throw TD under the bus just yet, but I am not enamored with his play.

I agree with whoever suggested making Fields the 6th man backing up both the 2 and 3. He just doesn't fit with Melo. Let Bibby back up TD for now until we see what BDiddy does. If Jorts continues to work hard, he can back up the 4 and 5. I liked what I saw from him today.

Great game by the Balkster today, but we all know it's an aberration, don't we?

Remember the way it is in that starting doesnt really matter with MDA, just crunch time minutes. That being said, I would rather have shump and TD off the bench for a nice 1-2 scoring punch.

How awesome would it be if we get Davis. Davis and Bibby would probably be the best point guard combo the Knicks have ever had, barring injury of course.

I like the idea of Douglas Shump of the bench but I think Fields would flourish as backup SF because like others have said he is not a SG

If not Baron, who I really hope we sign, then we definitely need a starting PG because Douglas clearly isn't that. I really think Mike D needs to realize Douglas fits better as a backup SG off the bench providing instant offense. This could move Fields also to the bench and Iman to the starting lineup. Keep Bibby in the bench too, just get another PG.

Many here agree to this. Lets send the e-mail to Mike D on what he should do.

one thing: this nets team is horrible. holding them under 90 should be a requirement for every team in the league.

the offense has to hum, no matter what team you are. dallas and miami were amazing defensive clubs last year. their offense was also highly efficient. you need both.

toney will lose us games sooner or later if he keeps starting. probably sooner. i like the kid, it just shouldn't be his role.

I'd sure love to have "The Mayor" Wilson Chandler back on this team....
I know that he's a RFA and not available until late Spring....
and that Denver will probably match....but out of all
the players who left in the Melo trade, I liked him the most.

Dwight Howard is probably dying to come to the Nets after seeing that game.

If the Nets don't get Dwight and Deron Williams goes to Dallas... it's gonna be a sad first season in Brooklyn for the Nyets.

Hey, if he can make this effort consistent, it'll be all the better for the team. We drafted Balkman, so if

At least he'll be able to make rotation and we'll have another semi-reliable offensive option.

Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

You won't have to send MDA any emails if TD isn't cutting it or if fields isn't either. One thing about MDA that I never worry about is his offense. Iman will likely earn a bigger role as he develops so there's nothing to worry about IMO.

I did like what I saw from the defensive effort. There was much more hustle and communication. The energy was high. It's a tough thing to deal with that Motion offense and a mobile guy like Deron.
