Now that he is coming to the Knicks we should forget about the rest of his NBA career and focus on him being a role player on the Mavericks for one season and use that to define his career. Tyson Chandler is the best center of this generation and deserves $14 million a season for his career 8 points, 8 rebounds, 1.5 blocks average. Tyson Chandler is a legend in the making. I hope to retire his jersey when this is all over.

your posts make you sound like a whiney little sarcastic bitch who pouts when he doesn't get his way

Well stated. Perfect assessment of the situation!

Your the type of guy who would run the other way if he saw me in the street.

Go back to being a bandwagon Knick fan 'FeltonandAmare'.

I'm not physically imposing. Ugly maybe , but not physically imposing.

Just saying bandwagon dudes like this guy need to sit down.

Medusa was ugly and she used that to be physically imposing by turning people that looked at her, into stone. How do we know you are not the same?

Melo on Chandler:

“He would fit in very well,” Anthony said at the event, which benefited the Carmelo Anthony Foundation. “He’s a defensive guy. He’s a good rebounder. He’s a real force on the inside.”

While I agree with what he is saying I don't think he should be the guy saying it until it happens. Chauncey played with him for three years and is given a lot of credit for getting Denver back on track after Iverson.

Meh. CB got his $14 mil and he's a big boy. He had to know that one way or the other he was out of here. CB and his agent are sounding all bent out of shape, but they had to have a pretty good idea that this could happen. Melo and STAT are probably ecstatic about the prospect of having a legit Center after the CP3 thing went south.

I'm just wondering what they'll do about PG. Will they wait until teams Amnesty players, in particular Baron Davis before they make a move? I think this would be a perfect situation for Davis given his skills and talent.

i gotta ask: has a team ever "signed" a player to contract using space they had not yet created? this has to be a first, no?

No they haven't actually signed anyone yet. The deal will go thru once they deal with Billups. It seems to be the only thing holding up any announcement of an agreement in principle.

i just hope all the talk is not pre-mature. as much as i'd hate to see the amnesty wasted on Billups, this move really addresses a major need.

Although I like the idea of getting a defensive minded center that allows Amare to play the 4, this is a pretty sizable commitment to an injury prone player who has played one full season in 3 years. For the cost involved in terms of money, cap space and the ability to acquire another star player, I'd hope for better numbers than 10 pts, 9 rebs and 1 block a game.

dan gilbert, is that you???

jk, welcome back, isles. i think the defense will be much improved by this addition. as we know from the ewing/camby days - a defensive minded center effects the entire team defense concept, etc. it's worth the money.

But thats the thing. Better numbers from where? Whom? The players available do not have better numbers.

I understand it and it's good to see a legitimate defensive center on the team but he better stay healthy and on the court. It's a risk.

yes, it's a risk. but even bynum and noah missed significant time the last few years. dwight is invincible, but harder to get. knicks front court has now been in the WCF in 2009 (melo), WCF in 2010 (amare) and won a championship (tyson). that's a good foundation, still in its prime.
