Amare and Carmelo - particularly Amare - should take some responsibility as "leaders" and blame themselves for the poor defensive effort. They're supposed to lead by example and they aren't. The coach is not going to get on their case because he's awful so they're going to need to police themselves and step up and take the criticism. Yeah, you can say "we need to play better defense" but say that after you say "I, personally, need to play better defensively as a leader of this team". I haven't heard that said once. You are leaders. Act like it.

Take the blame when it is there, not just the congratulations.

I'm still not sour on just yet. Maybe his mustache has a hold on me. But I just feel like defense is more about an individual player's pride on the court than schemes and screams by the coach.

Even worse than the other night..Other night, we played like GARBAGE and deserved to lose..Tonight we played well enough to win and came up short..Shitty defense, lack of solid interior play..Outside of that one play where Jeffries converted the 'and 1' layup he was GOD AWFUL, including the last play of the game where he passed up a wide open Melo behind the arc in favor of some rediculously low % pass down low..Re-read the Trent Tucker rule --- .3 of a sec IS ENOUGH TIME to get a shot off and Melo has a very quick trigger..So much for Jeffries smarts huh??

i don't think so. remember amear agsinst the celtics?

Amare set then shot..that's why it was late.

But to me that is on Dantoni..why even put Jefferies the offensive scrub in that situation?? when I saw him taking out the ball I knew it was disaster

Why even add Jeffries to the team???????????????? Now I'm not gonna pin the whole loss on him, but come on man, the dude adds nothing to the attack out there...We're playing 4 on 5 on offense whenever he's on the court (even worse than when Turiaf's out there) and the man is just so GODDAMN OVERRATED by the coaching staff & management in these other areas, areas they try to convince us he's helping the team..HE SUCKS!! PERIOD. THE END!! Again, just like I said before---who the flyin' F did he stop tonight?? You don't wanna say 'stop,' OK fine..Who did he even slow down tonight??? All of their key players went off..We had no answers..I thought this guy was brought back to be an answer defensively?? He's not..That's it..

I can't get twisted up at the last possession when it just shouldn't have come down to it, period.

The sad fact is the Knicks gave up too much height (Mozgov 7' and Gallo 6'10) and defense (Chandler 6'8 and strong as an ox)

The Knicks are too short

I just wanted one major move made from the bench and a semi moderate move(Gallo or Chandler) to the roster.

Would love to see what BROWN CAN DO FOR US

This is true...They should be ashamed of themselves for allowing Tyler Hansborough to just go off on them 2 games in a row like that..Un--F'in--acceptable...That can't happen.

We've let scrubs like Christian Eyenga and Samardo Samuels dominate us. We may be small but that's not an excuse to give up 115+ points to garbage teams.

You are saying that we are playing 4 on 5 on offense with him. I'm just saying we are playing 3.5 on 5 with him defensively. And he's about .75 or 1 of that equation.

yea, some of us wanted smaller moves... most felt carmelo would solve the problem of us losing these games.... but again.. whatever...

Brown will never get into the game.. not this year and not in meaningful minutes... I mean, we cut corey brewer without giving him a minute.. a guy who could have given us a long wing who defends.. this organization takes two steps forward and 3 backwards it seems..

Finest was commenting on Jeffries' worthless contribution on defense... i happen to agree w/him the guy brings absolutely nothing to the table other than a charge every so often, he is a horrible post defender, can't defend the PnR & isn't a good shotblocker... wtf MDA sees in him is anyone's guess.

After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.

You can't stop a 7'2 dude from hitting a hook shots.

but you can stop him from getting good position

Samardo Samules is no scrub. He is strong as an ox and a hard worker.

When you compare the frontcourt matchup, being too small has everything to do with it.

Hibbert is 275 pounds? Who is boxing him out?

D'Antoni has to go. Its a given now. And if that means Walsh leaves with him, I'll be sad but I won't care.

Any other coach would have this team playing AVERAGE defense, which would've won us the last two games and many more. D'Antoni amazingly has them playing ZIP!

I hear you guys, I just can't get twisted up by a role player's game or lack thereof. So OK we don't have Jeffries in the game, we win?

Our problems were front and center before the trade.....none of them dealt with Melo but that's who we keyed in on. I wonder what kind of moves we could have made besides going for Melo if that's how much we were willing to give up in assets to get better?

I sent you an email. Funny thing is had Vogel not been as patient with his bench and deciding to go to Hibbert and Jones late Hansbrough was about to molest 40.
