Mike's only excuse as to why we lose is that we didn't hit shots.

"We play our way and we will continue to play our way. Shots just didn't fall tonight."

His way, of course, is Shawne Williams guarding Gasol and defensive bigs on the bench.

Tough loss..

we lost because of size, simple and plain.. lack of size.

chandler and williams combined for 7 boards.. lakers had 3 guys who had more.. Kobe 10, odom, 17, gasol 14..

Felton off night, needs to facilitate when his shot is off..

Amare had a tough night. got going in the second half, but it wasn't enough, rest of the team was cold..

fields good scoring first half, not much in the second half, but he was on kobe for most of the night, so he gets a pass..

Williams took some bad shots, and he doesn't box out..

chandler got cold and he also needed to crash the boards..

Tough game to win, when you are having to battle size like that... we needed more production from our bench.. walker had a decent night, but that is not enough.

We should bounce back and beat portland..

21-15

Reality is that we're a jumpshooting team. When we hit shots it then opens the floor more for Amar'e. If we don't hit those shots, teams pack it in and cheat off their man to help stop Amar'e from driving. It's a very simple thing. It's not a weakness, it's just a fact of life for a team that doesn't have a ton of bigs that can play effectively. If we hit our shots and FT's like usual this is a much different game.

i agree w/u... but when you have a jumpshooting team & your shots aren't falling, then you need to get your points at the charity stripe... Amare did a great job getting to the FT line tonight... everyone else on the team was settling for 3 pt shots... Bill Walker took 7 shots off the bench, all of them were 3 pointers... he only made 3 of them & missed all 3 FT attempts at the line on another one he attempted... we can't be getting that kind of shot selection out of our 6th man off the bench... Wilson C took 5 3's & missed all of them, only got to the charity stripe twice for 4 FT's... we need Wilson to penetrate more to the hoop when his J is off, & the same goes for everyone else on this team... Felton should have been doing a much better job of penetrating as well tonight, but he was sleepwalking through the game all night... this team is not good enough to beat teams like the Lakers unless they're clicking on all cylinders.

Yeah I think when the team isn't slashing or attacking it's a sign that Felton isn't really on his game. He's been having some bad mental games. This one I didn't really see him take control of the team when we needed it. Usually he'll setup some solid plays to get us back on track. Just didn't happen tonight. Amar'e finally got going, but Felton still didn't seem to me to be fully in the swing of it. Everything starts with those two and then you can get guys like Chan, Fields and Williams stroking and driving etc.

2 FT attempts from our PG is unacceptable... i'm not even sure he took those off fouls either, i think they were both technical FT's from Ron Artest & Bynum.

Toney Douglas, 2 points in 24 minutes, 1 for 4 shooting... we're not gonna win many games if we're getting that kind of production off our bench.

Ok, all things taken in consideration, the cheerlear pictures in the game post go from fugly to tasteless - no wonder we lost this game.

He's also stated publicly on his show that he'll tell the media that the reason they'll lose is because they missed shots, so I am pretty sure he's well aware of the exact reasons they lost. I wouldn't get angry over that.

The Knicks gave it all they had. Yeah, they missed shots, but they got killed on the boards, missed free throws and frequently forced the issue.

They'll beat the Lakers at the Garden.

The length of Bynum and Gasol along with Artest thuggery did us in. We also missed Gallo's rebounding and defense. Shawne Williams got exposed a little. The open 3s did not happen for Shawne as they closed him out pretty good. Gallo would have feasted in the lane if they keep closing out 3 point shooters like that.

I agree with everything you said except the Gallos rebounding part.

Amear and Felton were 1-13 in the first half. And there were a hot mess of open shots the Knicks missed. No flow to the game and it ended up being iso ball all game. I think that's what did in the Knicks.

Felton looked extra medioce on a night where Amear was less than superman.

one thing I do notice is that gallo at least boxes out.. if anything, it keeps another body off the boards.. lakers had 3 guys with 10 or more boards...
