lol, record?

dude won A LOT of games with the suns, with a good mix of players for his system.

this year, it's the best we've had and we are a good team.

yeah, he's stubborn...about things he clearly thinks will help the team WIN GAMES.

do you not want to win?

i read articles today, including the one you posted, but complained about quoting more than you liked, pointing to the reason for the short rotation...

but no, it's all his fault that hill, randolph, darko, hughes, mozgov, etc. haven't played well consistently...

notice all of them have questionable work ethics or are in need of time...

mda is a coach for a team that wins...

he has VERY high expectations of his players, which is actually a very good thing (in education literature)...

if we were a team that didn't worry about wins, those guys would play...

but we are.

i dunno how many times that has to be stated, but honestly, i'm not sure why i state this since i've never seen you respond to this point.

walsh and mda are playing the short term gain game, with hopes they can get better fitting players or sort things out in other ways before the trade deadline, or at least as much as possible.

amar'e is probably not going to play as many minutes, nor felton, if we have guys who play well and can be trusted to do so.

that's why those guys AREN'T PLAYING...

but no, some here want to coddle them while we risk losing games...lol

i guess we want to go back to rebuilding/bad team style...

all of the arguments railing on mda have been addressed over and over, but who cares, mda is the anti-christ coach, ruins youth, crashes and burns this team...

i ain't saying he's perfect, but i am not so harshly critical of his approach because it appears to make sense with the goals of the team.

win games, make the team's prestige improve to be attractive to others, and start to compete on a playoff level.

awesome game, and win...

negative. i predicted gallo MVP.

player of the game:

you miss me

MVP:

no questions please

okay, no problem. but also not sure what's up with putting randolph as player of the game and also had an mvp.

is there a big difference or one at all?

how are you defining either?

regardless you still put randolph as player of the game.

if donnie fired mike tomorrow it would not even be a bump in the road for the knicks. [mike] was not what the knicks have been missing for a decade, amar'e is. so now that we got the importance of mike out the way. to me winning as a team, is winning as a team.. not rotations that shrink as soon as mike's balls shrink.

thank you, martin. i was thinking the same thing, about curry.

i am AMAZED at the low level of expectations some who are obsessed with winning games have suddenly found ways to "make excuses" for end of bench players, who haven't met expectations.

how about POSSIBLY believing they are just not performing and we can't risk playing them.

why is fields STARTING and getting big minutes?

williams played.

douglas plays.

gallo, drafted the same year as randolph, plays.

EARN MINUTES then you can play.

right now, i don't see the end of bench guys earning minutes.

relax dude... no one's unhappy about a win... we just wanna see our bench guys get some burn in a blowout win... nothing wrong w/that.

perhaps it's those slinging mud at mda in any possible way to fit the view that he isn't "right" that could benefit from need relaxing.

there's always something to find "wrong."

it wasn't a PERFECT game, but really worth going nuts about?

seriously, no disrespect, but WE NEEDED this game.

no time to waste giving guys who clearly aren't up for the challenge to give the thunder a shot at coming back.

and notice...the bench SUCKED as soon as they came in.

in fact, my friend, lost some respect for the team when the bench cleared, saying, "there are some things to work on," but referring to the way the game ended...

hmmm...

who was on the floor then, against the other team's "scrubs?"

PresIke, you werent' even around for the game thread... i think you need to read through the entire thread before you comment on what's posted during the garbage time portion of the game... there were plenty of positive things being said about the way the team was playing all throughout the previous pages... do we have to keep harping about the same things after the game is over that we've already talked about earlier in the thread rather than comment about what's going on during that portion of the game?

fair point, TMS, i wasn't.

but i read through it, and as the game seemed to wane on folks were CLAMORING for randolph, etc.

i was at the game, and I NEVER THOUGHT OF PUTTING THEM IN until the game was IN THE BAG.

for our team, that means up 20 with 5 minutes to play.

because we've blown so many leads we need to build and keep confidence for the starters.

that's WAY more important than getting the end of the bench guys a few minutes to play.

i guess i am just amazed and tired of folks begging for guys who haven't proven jack to play when the team is winning games.

again, amazed.

Not to take anything away from Amare, but he's not the kind of player where you just roll the ball out there and let him do his thing. Our 3-8 season start attests to that. He's a player that could easily be misused to dreadful result. I think our 13-1 streak is largely creditable to D'Antoni's adjustments to the PnR, floor spacing, tempo, short rotations, etc. We could be doing a lot worse with other coaches who don't quite know how to get it to Amare where he likes it and how to empower PGs. It's no coincidence that Amare and Felton are our key contributors. (Which isn't to say most coaches wouldn't feature them, but they might feature them to a 3-8 result as we initially did.)

This is the thing some don't understand. Mike is a good coach and when he has players that execute what he's teaching them, his teams win. As i've said before, watching this team you can tell that they're well coached. You can't just roll the ball out there and expect a team to play this fast and with the teamwork they exhibited on both ends. They said they worked on D and O during the 3 days off. You could see the team was ready.

IIRC they weren't exactly a feature item at the time and 3-8 would lend that phrase some credence. 10 more wins and we beat last years win total. With 10 new guys on the team. I think the Knicks are ahead of schedule and gaining confidence in each other. I have seen some flashes of impressive basketball by this team.

VERY impressive wins for the Knickerbockers.

Durant still gets his 26, but I thought Gallo played him well. Was hoping to see Danilo attack KD like he has Melo, but he had a nice game - strong D and good ball movement.

Glad to see Turiaf make his impact on the game and keep up the energy while Amar'e sits.

Amar'e MVP! It's freakin' December and we have MVP chants at the Garden? I LOVE IT! Dude just makes it look too easy sometimes.

As much as we rely on Amar'e, Felton is just as important for this team. We really need that backup so Ray can get a rest. TD had a good game today, but I still don't trust him leading the offense.

Fields and Chandler have just been so consistent for this team. When Amar'e gets crowded, Wilson just finds a way to make something happen. All the while, Landry is busy racking up another double double.

I'll end this with everyone's favorite bench warmer. AR takes one shot in his limited minutes, and I still find myself in a facepalm. Still forcing things too much (albeit, finally saw a couple minutes, sure he wanted to show something to the coach). When Randolph can show it in practice, he'll find minutes. In the mean time, I'd rather see this team play without him.

cheers

mda looks good when the knicks win. true. but would the knicks be worse off if coach spo was head coach of new york instead of miami

I know you have read what my opinion is on this many times because you are quick to comment on it. I think Randolph should be given the chance Mosgov was given. Ten minutes a game to get some rythm and flow. Its nothing outrageous but there is a track record with D'Antoni of not developing guys. Douglas did not get any run until Walsh traveled with the team last year to evaluate the players and coaching staff. I am excited about Fields and the fact that D'Antoni has been open minded about playing him. I am sure some of what D'Antoni has done as well as experience has helped Fields. But Fields came out of the draft ready to play so I am hesitant to give too much credit to D'Antoni. He had the smarts to recognize that his 23 year old rookie was an nba ready player and he put him in the starting line up. That is fantastic. He has done other guys wrong and bringing Randolph off the bench last is just another way to tell the youngest guy on the team that you have no faith in him. At least he didn't scream at him tonight but that has happened in the past.

THIS ISN'T TRUE! So many times people keep putting this out there, but TD was a rookie but still saw games where he got a ton of minutes early on. He would play well and see a lot of minutes and then there were games where he didn't see a lot of minutes. There were certainly some DNP's, but he was never totally shut down over the course of the season. I can repost the gamelogs I posted in another thread to prove it. The thing is that even with an off season to train TD still hasn't grown from where he was last year. It's not about the minutes you get in games. You have to grow and show you can execute in practice to start with and then the coach will gain confidence to put you in games.

AR simply has to keep working. I think he'll eventually get his chance and it's not gonna be because you think DW is forcing him to play.

I don't know how else to put this to you, but only Mike knows the truth about AR and how he's preparing and what his state of readiness is. You can only guess as to whether this kid is ready to contribute. You can only guess as to why Mike is holding him out of game action. As much as Mike wants to win, there's no way he'd hold back a player that could help him to win games. If you think that you really don't know what kind of person Mike is.
