i'm complaining about the price we had to pay to dump $10 mil in cap space which included swap rights to a pick that could very well end up being in the high lottery next year along w/a 1st rounder only protected to 5 on top of Jordan HIll... i'm not heartbroken over losing him, tho i don't think he ever got a fair chance to show much of anything in NY... if u think u can draw conclusions about the type of player he's going to be based off 24 games u may have missed your calling & should be working in an NBA front office... i'm sure Donnie could use the help.
Walsh doesn't need any of our help. He and Mike noticed well before us that Jordan Hill sucked and they dumped him and his 2.7M 2011+ salary without a thought.
And this price you speak of is pretty damn low. A bum in Hill, a 2011 swap with a mediocre team, and a 2012 pick that shouldn't be all that by then if we do this right the next 2 offseasons.
Why you cling to the hopes that Jordan Hill, and selecting 10th or worse in 2011 and selecting 18th and worse in 2012 was going to be a solid foundation to build a franchise on is beyond understanding.
And to get rid of Crawful and Zachass all we had to dump was another bum in Mardy Collins.
Final price tag for reducing a 100M+ payroll to 17M? Mardy Collins (Bum), Jordan Hill (Bum), 2011 Swap with a mediocre team, 2012 pick that shouldn't amount to much of anything.
That's a freakin' coup by Donnie.
Sweetney > Hill
Butler > Hill
FWill > Hill
Sergio > Hill
TMac > Hill
Jordan Hill will be hanging with Sweetney and Butler when his rookie deal is up.
Why you're freaked about dumping this trash can is way out of the bounds of logic.
I know we disagree on the trade, but facts are important.

They dumped Jeffries. Hill and the picks were the price to dump Jeffries.

It's a big price if they don't. The concern is the Knicks have not done anything right the last 10 years, so they do not inspire confidence that they will the next 2.

Hill and the picks were traded for 7 Mill in cap space, not 83 Mill. It would have been a great trade if they took Curry's salary of 11 Mill.
Sergio > Hill
Sergio fills a need on the Knicks no doubt about it, but he was available for a trade exception that Memphis passed on.
Does Hill suck? Maybe, but the point of argument against the trade is the Knicks overpaid. Regardless of what you or I think of Hill and the picks, it was a steep price to pay for Jeffries and that is the consensus around the league and the media, that is they overpaid.
One more thing, Houston traded Landry to Sacto and insisted on Hill to be included eventhough Walsh resisted adding him. So at least Morey, houston's GM does not think Hill sucks.
But no one knows for now, big men take time to develop. In a couple of years we will know the answer.
