I was talking with my sons about this and what we should do in the event we don't get Lebron. Since it's highly possible that he won't be coming, we have to have a contingency plan. Who do you think we can get that has leadership skills or mentality? It seems that in building a winning team you can't leave that element out of the mix.

Look at how positive the effect of adding Billups was to the Nuggets. The team isn't perfect but he made a positive improvement IMO. Who can we get that has those kinds of qualities?

We may have to overpay to get such player or make an unfavorable trade. As of right now a player that comes to mind who isn't the caliber of player Billups is but does have similar leadership qualities is Raymond Felton. Now ask yourself how much coin do you really want to throw at this guy?

Overpay?? You are starting to sound like Zeke.

That clip shows how frustrating it can be to watch Lee on defense.

in terms of a leader, i don't really see one in this year's FA class other than Lebron & Wade... then u have guys like Manu G, Dirk & Ray Allen who can be leaders but i don't really think we're in on any of them.

i don't view Bosh or Amare as leaders, but they can be featured offensive players... if we were to sign either of those guys, we'd have to also sign a PG who can get them the ball where they need to get it or make a trade for one... that PG would also have to be the leader to get the most out of the team next year.

Bring in Patrick Ewing as head coach and Oakley as assistant and watch this team grow. You have to have something special to be a real New York Knick. Ewing will get the respect and he will get us a true center and probably train him himself. This game had bad coaching bad egos and no defense. David Lee will not get 12 million a season and if he does the team is crazy. Take 9-10 mill and run.

doesn't matter who u bring in to coach this mess, none of these guys have what it takes to be a leader as it stands now... none of them have stepped up when the team needed them to step up... this has been going on for the past several years... this team needs guys who are willing to throw away their egos & their personal agendas for the good of the team before we can ever start thinking about gelling as a unit.

agreed... dude just stood there & gave Evans a clear path to the basket like he always does... if the roles were reversed & it was Lee who just got shook out his boots by Evans off the dribble, Fishlips would have made sure to rotate over & make Evans pass off to Jason Thompson or draw the charge.

Lee is too focused on his next contract & putting up his double doubles to worry about playing any D.

True that we need a leader. That is why Walsh tried to sign Grant Hill or Kidd. Didn't happen though. Why would Grant Hill or Kidd want to come here when they can/are playing on a winning team.
