Do you want to see examples of this feature working well? Send me an email if you want and I can give you my username and password to a forum that uses the ignore feature.

Do you really wanna hear something funny about this feature. Someone can put it on against someone else. But other people will be telling that person 'do you know what he's saying about you out there'? That person would immediately turn it off to see what's up and get right into an argument. I used to see it all the time on another board. People need that stimullation, of conflict. It was funny as hell! People just can't stay away from a good argument, especially when it comes to the team. That's when people started really' getting nasty and eventually getting thrown off the boards, like I was. But I was mainly thrown off for my political beliefs.
I'll never trust this' team again.

I wish there was a kill button.

Anytime a relative logged on, I could trick them into signing up on UK, and then hit the kill button.

Bye Uncle Bob.

DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

Why don't you start a haters forum and do war dances or something.
I'll be at the game on Sunday. WoW I can't wait to root for my Knicks. You haters won't take my joy. Stay home and vent!

How old are you exactly?

The constant pandering of various posters here is really getting old. There are many other posters who I enjoy reading their posts but have to read through these one trick pony, condescending nimrods posts. This is a fan site and fans do have a right to have differing opinions but some of these guys are attention grabbing post whores, who enjoy pissing off others. I just believe this doesn't belong here.Just a thought.

And what if someone doesn't agree with your opinions? This is a simple attempt of a lover trying to dominate the board.

Please don't. We're trying to get away from that kind of talk and you're likely to spew 20 consecutive, in three or four threads. Lets all try to enjoy each other.

It took awhile to catch up to the end of this thread.
I'll never trust this' team again.

I would like to see an ignore button but if they decide not to have one so be it. Maybe one day when the UK gets together I will come and meet some of the people on this forum and you will see why people call me Papabear. Yes I'm a big dude.

Papabear

yeah, & maybe if you come out to one of those you'll see that not as many racists or "haters" proliferate this board as you may think

Papabear Says

Like I said before I won't go there but TMS at the next gathering just make sure you introduce yourself to me so we can meet face to face. I wont bring up the race card and I truly hope you don't. I just got to meet you guys face to face it will be fun. Especially the Knicks lovers.
Hey what about Crawford?? All offense and lacking defense. Hopefully he will step up on D. When I played power foward thats all my coach preached, defense. If the Knicks and when the Knicks makes the playoffs it will be because they are playing defense.

Papabear

hey man, meeting face to face would be awesome, but it may be a little hard for me to get out to a UK get together now that i'm living in LA... but if you ever get a chance to come out West when the Knicks visit the Staple Center, let me know & i'll buy you a round... ur gonna see that i'm nowhere near the "hater" that you seem to think i am for some reason... i've been to a few UK pick up games & get togethers last year & i'm sure the guys will tell you i'm a pretty cool dude, except for the fact that i look like the kid from the Goonies.

This is how the feature is being used on Yahoo, MSN, Yes Network, ESPN etc.

I don't understand why you are so against a feature you are not being forced to use.

These sites you mentioned get thousands and thousands (in a few cases, probably millions) of hits and people passing through them. There is a difference in qauntity here. If your gonna make your argument, make sure you cover all the facts, before proving your case.
Think about it! Why do you think I mentioned big forums instead of a little one? If I mentioned little forums wouldn't other dumbasses say those forums are too small?!? I mentioned big forums just to prove it works for everybody. There are smaller ISP forums like viconet.com, powweb.com and/or the dattebayo forums that have ignore features and works fine. If you are going to make a counter argument, make sure you cover all your facts before you call people out.

I really don't get it.

This is a Knicks website, not a website where people come to talk about a bunch of different topics like politics or something. People come here to talk about one topic and thats the Knicks. Is there really a need for an ignore button in a case like this?

And lets be honest, there is really only a handful of people complaining about this subject. I'm going to venture to guess there are a good 700 people that are members of this site and out of that, 20(max) are complaining about the need for an ignore button.

To be honest, I'm a fan of the super intense arguments. I find it entertaining. HAHA!! Maybe if more people took it for entertainment we wouldn't have people bugging out so much. I find Islesfan absolutely hilarious. He's a really funny guy if you can get past the point that he's dogging your favorite team. I mean, how funny is this:

There are some very sensitive, very emotional people on this message board. And you know just how to rile 'em up. Should we have an ignore feature? Or should they take a step back and think to themselves, "Hold up. This is just one person on an internet forum."? People need to lighten up.

I'm innocent. I'm very very innocent.

That's funny stuff. I mean, he's a character, a parody of the most angry fans and he does it well. The fact that some people are so easily riled up is not his fault.

This site is not overrun by negativity because there is no ignore function. This site is overrun by negativity because the team has been in the dumps year after year. There is no such thing as lovers and haters. There is just hopefuls and not hopefuls. An ignore feature will not change that.

But yeah, if you really feel like you need it to enjoy the board then I guess I hope you get it because I feel bad that you aren't enjoying yourself. My advice: loosen up, roll with the punches, keep it light, don't read the posters you don't like.

Post of the year nomination. I agree with everything you said. Thanks for saving me some time typing

Guys: Stop taking people so seriously and just ignore those that you don't like. It's not that difficult. I haven't read a Solace or Allanfan20 post in years.

I always feel that most of the people ignore me anyway.
Why waste time on the button?

i'm sorry, did you say something?

Whatever happened to arkrud? That guy used to post here all the time. Oh well.

I am here.
Nix took some of my joy away by leaving...
I am watching the games to see what this team is about
Also Rangers are doing great... No insult to Iseles...

It certainly affects me. It dumbs down posting and creates confusion.

Person C: "Is Person A blocking me?" "well I'm going to block person A and while I'm at I'll block person B because he shares the same viewpoint as person A."
Persons A + B: "well if person C is blocking me, I'm going to block him to.. see how he likes them apples! and while I'm at it I'll block persons D, E, F, G becuase they all share the same viewpoint as Person C."

It's just stupid and it creates drama and confusion.
