Jason Smith would better suit teams like the Spurs, Jazz, Rockets -- more of the halfcourt set style of play.

I'm still confused on why you would think that Smith could not keep up with the Suns style of play. Do you think he is not athletic enough?

Kurt Thomas is a seasoned NBA veteran who has played on some fine teams.

Jason Smith is a poor man's Troy Murphy. Very poor.

I think you're miles off base. Troy Murphy is a perimeter-based player for the most part and doesn't come close to grading out to what Smith can do athletically. Smith graded out as the fastest big man with the best vertical--the only comparison to Troy murphy is that he is white and tall.

lol @ Minnesota taking Hawes with the 7th pick

The #7 Pick

The Wolves are leaning a bit towards going big with either Yi Jianlian or Spencer Hawes. While they would love to get Yi, they haven't been granted access to work him out as of yet. The Chinese Government is being pretty tight on who he can work out for. They would prefer Yi playing in a place where his exposure would be pretty high and one that has a nice Chinese population.

It may not be right, but it is what they are doing.

If they do decide to go big, Spencer Hawes would most likely be the pick. The most glaring need for the Wolves is a low post presence. When your two choices at center are either Mark Blount or Mark Madsen, you are in trouble. That leaves a lot of the physical burden on Kevin Garnett. Hawes could east a lot of that. He is extremely versatile and can score both inside and outside. He has the ability to really score down low with either hand. He can get up and down but isn't the most athletic player. But the one thing he does have is grit. He is a tough player who will mix it up which helps over compensate for his lack of athleticism. He could provide a real scoring spark inside.

With the high post game of Garnett, the attacking Foye, and the slashing Davis, the Wolves would have a pretty competitive squad.

I find it humorous that you got all bent out of shape when the "Kevin McHale is in the building" comment was made....but then you go ahead and defend your pick by posting articles stating that McHale is indeed looking to draft the guy.

A message to Jason Smith fanatics:

First of all, he has short arms and small hands. He exhibits horrible footwork and has no real go-to move in the post.

Although he averaged 10 rebounds in a YMCA conference, he isn't a good nor solid rebounder.

Last but not least, he needs some strength in his upper body.

Will we have that draft game this year like we've had in years past?

I think we should re-do this draft. Someone else should pick for ATL. No way they take two PGs.

I have 2 players I believe the T-Pups are looking at

Noah(although I feel personally he shouldn't be in the Top 10) and Brewer, with the recent news on Noah I gotta go with Brewer if he's there. Milwaukee is the team I'm not sure which way they're leaning. I think they want Horford. They need a 4.

T-Pups pick Brewer to pair with Foye, McCants

He ended up available and that would have been my pick if Cookdcokehop wouldn't have selected him for Milwaukee.

Spencer Hawes was my secondary choice

How does McRoberts slip this far?
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

SAS just confirmed what I thought. They were trying to get a 2nd round pick to get Jordan.

Avis Wyatt is still on the board. I hope he gets drafted. I am sure he will get an invite somewhere if doesn't.
