You can't ever blame a game on the refs. Sometimes you get ridiculous calls, sometimes the calls against you are ridiculous. You have to expect that and be able to rise above it. You can't go into a game thinking "okay, we have enough talent to win this, but ONLY if every call is 100% accurate... we just don't have what it takes to overcome if one or two calls are off"

Ummm who is doing that????? That maybe your take, which I guess is fine. Doesn't answer my post or have anything to do with what I said though.

Um, yes, yes it does. You blamed the refs for the loss, saying if we had different ones we would have won by 20. I said you can never blame the refs. Is this hard to understand?

NO I said why play the blame game when if three different refs were at the game tonight you wouldn't call the same players trash for playing the same exact game........ *Zoom*

1. No, pretty sure you say "if this game was watched again with a different bunch of zebras the Knicks win by 20 points," not "if this game was watched by different refs you wouldn't be calling the same players trash!"
2. Two or three calls gone a different way wouldn't have magically transformed any players game from a poor performance to a good one. Curry played like trash regardless.

2 You missed the point, that's on you not me. And I couldn't disagree more.

Any performance that could be turned from a great one to a terrible one by a couple calls from the refs wasn't a truly great performance to begin with. Maybe you can go from mediocre to not so good, or mediocre to decent. That's about it.

Tell me, who is it that would have had a good game but was robbed by them damn referees into a trashy one instead?

YOu seem to be purposely trying to marginalize how bad the refs were and how much the team had to over come to be in a postion to win. Even so, the game that the knicks played was great and I would take it for the rest of the year. I will not trash them for what happened in this game and they shouldn't be trashed.

yea bad calls go both ways. they tend to balance out because the other team gets bad/no calls as well. the difference now is that good teams aren't affected by this because they separate themselves from the other team so much that all the bad calls in the world don't make a difference, because they just outplay the other team by such a large margin.

but that's not to completely absolve the officials. the officiating in the nba is notoriously bad and inconsistent. they say they "don't want to decide the games with calls so they let the players play", yet when you DON'T call contact when it occurs, you ARE deciding the outcome...durrr.. plus calling a questionable technical in a close game in the last 2 minutes? come on...

bottom line though is like you said. the good teams understand bad calls are always going to be there, every game. you have to simply negate it by outplaying the other team as much as you can.

For those who want to blame the refs for tonight's loss:

- Not a single foul was called in the 2:30 that it took for the Jazz to go from 10 down to 1 up late in the 4th quarter

- Knicks had 25 fouls, Jazz had 23

- Knicks shot 27 free throws, Jazz shot 27 free throws

Were there bad calls? Probably on both sides

Were there missed calls? Probably on both sides

Were the refs the reason why the Knicks lost? Hell no

Jamal and Eddy combined for 14 TOs, which is what I think the Jazz had. We didnt execute. Plain and simple. We went to the line just as many times as they did

I mean, yes, it's an excuse but saying stuff like "we should have never put ourselves in that position" just feels like rationalizing. sometimes you get jobbed by the refs. tonight, the knicks got jobbed. the league doesn't have a vendetta against the team, but tonight the Knicks got jobbed. maybe it'll even out, hopefully we don't finish one game out of the playoffs, because we got fricking jobbed.

I don't know. But I guess Im suppose to believe that that the man handling that Curry went threw all game had nothing to do with those turn overs as well???

It was a horrible game by the refs, the knicks should have still won/bailed the refs out, but they didn't. 90 percent of the people who aren't knicks or jazz fans felt that way, but you are also correct to a point............ what more can I say??? Not trashing the game the knicks played last night.

Blowing the 10 point fourth quarter lead. Three turnovers in OT before a single field goal. A ridiculous play in the last seconds of overtime in which we didn't get a shot off until after the buzzer. The refs didn't help, but we didn't get jobbed.

it's all meaningless now, but, yeah, we did. frankly, I think they would have won easily if Francis didn't play, for what it's worth.

He has no place on this team. Wish there was some way to get something in return for him.

Not having the refs bail you out does not constitute having the refs cost you a game.

When NY won at MSG Marbury just to get by OKUR blatantly carried the ball on the winning layup and I'm sure Utah fans saw that, but it's all in the game.

bad calls for the knicks at the end...but the foul calls really had nothing to do with us blowing the 10 point lead.

i'm more concerned about this offense and how isiah's freezing out some players on this roster.
