If Marv got fired last year for criticizing the team then I would expect Dolan to give Johnny Hoops the axe as well. ;)

I don't think so. the entire organization sees what Marbury is doing and im sure Isiah is doing everything he can to trade him if not he will start shopping him tomorrow morning

Marbury's got a point, the rest of the team can score without him. So... don't play him.
I don't know if he's the root of the problem here, but its clear that this combination of coaches and players will not work.
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

First problms is it was not obvious how much curry would be able to play. And it's not obvious how much he'll be able to play next game and hasn't been obvious all season.

The other problem is that if those guys play how they've been playing so far - we're not gonna win many games anyway. How many amongst them are even an average starting players:

1) Not Curry - hasn't been able to stay healthy.
2) Frye is great for a rookie, but plays defense like a rookie and isn't a consistent force on the boards or even offensively.
3) Ariza - obviously not.
4) Craw - Is still Craw. I see a slight improvement in shot selection other then that - still makes bad decisions still can't play D.
5) Marbs - Not as bad as his detractors say. But week defensively, not a leader and not good enough to make this a good lineup.

So you have a lineup of guys who are inconsistent on offense and bad on defense. With maybe one guy who at his current skill level, fitness level and knowledge of the game is a starting player on an average NBA team.

Basically we have no good lineup. What Larry should be doing is trying to improve the team not eek out a couple of extra wins over the course of the season. That's what I think he is trying to do. He needs to do whatever he can to get these guys to play better or get better players. Playing the "Best" players without forcing players to improve gets us nothing.

I completely disagree. Start that lineup and good things will happen. Give guys roles and good things will happen.

Sure, Crawford, Frye, Curry, Ariza all have flaws, but every team in the league has flaws in it's starting lineup. Brown focuses on what's wrong with the players, rather than using what's right.

I wonder if he realized that essentially thats what he was saying. problably not but if he did then he's one clever fella! he wants out..too much work and effort playing for larry brown. he'll soon be cashing in on $22mm a year. he doesn't need this

Curry's basically unguardable. 7'0" Howard didn't have a chance against him on most plays. Curry even had a nice move going LEFT and drawing a foul. Like Briggs said, he just needs to lose weight. If he can do that, he and Frye will be a great PF/C combo.

But will Larry and Steph ever be able to get on the same page.
If not, then you trade Steph. Vince had almost as much money left on his contract, was playing *worse* than Steph is right now (he was around 14 PPG, 3 APG), and had far more injury issues BUT Toronto still got 2 1st mid rd picks for him. I'm not concerned about being able to get something valuable in return for Marbury even if it's less talent than we're giving up. Some team that wants to contend will take a chance on him.

well I certainly havent blindly worshipped marbury but I still dont think he should be traded, he had a bad game, nate and craw have had them as well. I think the potential for marbury is there to play under brown, theres no reason to trade him unless his teammates can't stand him, and I dont think thats the case.

What if it's the other way around, Marbury can't stand this team? Or the pressure is getting to him? Or the press is getting on his nerves?

He was trying hard, shots just weren't going down, didn't get all the calls, only got 3 assists cause guys weren't hitting their shots, it's that obvious? Nothing wrong, trying his hardest to win, running the team like coach wants.

Then when told that larry would have expected more than 3 assists and 0 steals in 40 mins Steph got aggressive with the reporter: 'yo, what's with your questions tonight, what kind of questions are those, what's wrong with you?

if thats the case he'll ask for a trade and he'll be traded, it's just as well anyway, the knicks aren't a terribly better team with him on the court right now anyway.

oh man, steph definitely does not like the new york media... I really don't see Isiah trading Steph though, not unless his job is literally hanging in the balance.

Marbs seemed more jovial tonite. He even joined in the mid court Prayer/lovin thing they do at the games end.

I don't like that. I like it when guys lose they go in and kick the towel boy!

I Don't know what to make of Marbs game. Assists don't always tell the story. Seemed David Lee got one everytime he threw the ball to Craw.

The transition defense sucked tonite! I really don't care about marbs offense right now as I am about our perimeter defense and the transition. We gave too many easy baskets.

I liked what I saw of Curry.

james is passing when he should shoot and shooting when he should pass! shows tentitive behavior, which is got him thinking.

Shelly got this team and Larry's teams down than many of "use", it starts bad!

Marbs might be the most stubborn mule he has had to break! Put the dam stupmy arms in the air on defense!

Marbs need just give us 15 and 5 for now! And keep talking. He seemed more postive on the floor tonite. Just my observation.

This is getting boring. I Record the games and now for two in a row I just fast forward to see if we making any progress in 4th period when I get sick of seeing this.

Signs of the nite: Lee can play, Eddie got skills and ugly sneakers, The team fed Curry very nicely. No standing around, it was good motion, Marbs was not morbid at least, and Nate kept his mouth shut!

This wasn't as bad a game from Steph as you guys are making it. He played well, played solid D, encouraged his teammates, his shots just weren't falling and he didn't get to the line. I think you guys are over reacting.
I think this is something we can build from.

They asked him why he wasn't trying to score, he said the game flow wasn't allowing him to score. Media responds by asking him why he didn't have more assists, this is the highlight...

Marbury: How do you get an assist
Reporter: you pass the ball to someone who makes a shot
Marbury: Exactly!
Reporter:.....
Marbury: You gotta make the shots

Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)
