LB also said Houston was the best player on the Knicks last year.

nough said

he was.

Steph lovers attribute the bad season to know Houston but scoff at the idea he was the best player. Any competent GM in the league takes a healthy Houston over a healthy Marbury every day of the week and twice on sunday (and not just because God told them too )

stop lying to yourself. Healthy Houston isnt better than a healthy Stephon and Penny is too old and too slow to start for the Knicks.

you're not objective or the simple observation that Houston has been and will always be viewed as a better PROFESSONAL ballplayer than Steph wouldn't miss you.

Houston was a tone setter. Guys know what to expect every minute on the floor with Allan and fed off it.

Steph is a guy who spends 1 half passing and the other half shooting and stays in blow-outs to pad his stats. There is nothing rythmatic about the way he plays. His teams always appear to play like strangers after awhiles.

sidebar
Allan is better at entering the ball in the post than Steph which is awful since he is the point guard.

Silver I see McK1 has now found you to dispute every point with. There is no chance in hell that Houston is a better basketball player then Marbury is... EVER. I'm a bigtime Allan Houston fan, ask anyone on here, and anyone who thinks he's a better basketball player then Stephon is just lying to themselves because when it comes down to it all Houston did was shoot, no defense, no passing, no nothing. Give me a break man. It's now clear that you are just a Marbury hater and have nothing objective to say about him.

I do not love Marbury, I think he's a good talent and needs a special kind of offense to produce but you watch this year since Steph finally has a compatent bigman to get the ball to in the post. Bigtime year for not only Stephon and Eddy Curry but also for the Knicks. You'll be done drinking that Jamal Crawford Kool-Aid in no time.

actually I liked what I saw from big game. He looked pretty sly and was active. The guy was a little more agile than I thought he would be, especially considering his hammy has been an issue.

The way the rotation is looking to me is
guards: Marbury/Crawford/NAte
wing: Q/Ariza
bigs: AD/Curry/JJ/Frye/Lee

its sad how having a mind for the game, having one of the streetest strokes from 2 as well as 3, being one of the few guards to use their height to post up, and being a team and clutch player is marginilized in the face of gaudy personal stats and Rucker highlight reel antics.

question

Steph to Curry has connected exactly how many times in the 3 games they've played?

I dont know you tell us. its not like they keep track of that on nba.com. anyway I think the experiement with crawford and the PG and steph at the SG should continue a little while longer. becuase marbvury is a more efficient SG than crawford is, and Crawford based on what ive seen so far is only a slightly less effective PG than marbury, so i think it may work out better. and like fishmike said un another thread their roles dont even have to be clearly defined, as long as crawford continues to keep the forced shots to a minimum and drive and dish more(which I noticed he has been doing lately), it doesnt really matter if his official title is SG or PG.

it was rhetorical but nba.com and national telecasts in general do have a feature called play-by-play

Who knows how many times its worked so far but I also know that it's preseason and Curry JUST got to Knicks camp, if you don't think that is going to be a huge force for the Knicks then I dont know what else to say to you. How was Allan Houston using his height to post up? He was a 6'6 SG just like the rest of the league, PG's were never covering him so I'm not sure where he was using his height. While I agree Houston was a great shooter and good post player you're just showing bias in your assessment by picking a few things he does good and picking a few things that Marbury does bad. If you don't think Marbury is a more dynamic player I really don't know what else to say becuase if you even if you hate the guy you have to admit that and you have yet to say anything rational about him.

Marbury is one of the top scorers in the game. One on one not many players can guard him. Surround him with KT at the 4 Doleac at the 5 and KVH at the 3 and he will appear to be the total package at guard.

are you insinuating that marbury can only get assists of off pick and rolls? Blasphemey! heh heh j/k but seriously he assists in other ways too, i remember last season he threw a bullet pass to sweetney in traffic, and once he made behind the back dish to sweetney after penatrating, and their was that twisty pass thingie he made to TT against milwaukee, hes a pretty good passer, but the thing is he is probably a better scoreer

He has some moves, but like D. Lee he wasn't making his shots. I did like the fact that he looked pretty active on D and tried to contest shots.
