The trade included nets taking a year of a bad contract in Bojan Bogdanović.

What was the competition for the trade? What were the other offers?

And nobody can stand here an say a thing about those picks and what they would be doing for us last season or this? Last season we were a final four team. This year is uneven but we are about the same with a new coach and undetermined outcome.

Less than 5 of those 1sts would have netted you Durant.

If the Knicks want to make things work and keep their ability to stay below the second apron next year (while resigning Mitch) I’m looking at Washington. They can give us Champagnie and Bagley, 2 usable players, for Yabuseles contract and whatever second round picks we want to offer. It just comes down to that value. Bagley is a good insurance piece for Mitch on his nights off. And Champagnie is a big wing who can defend, shoot a little, and rebound, and is on a minimum contract for the next 2 years. Really helpful to have a rotation player for cheap locked up when we are up against the second apron.

I gotta think the Knicks are close to not caring about their second apron. It'll be called the KAT decision.

OG's defense is just so valuable come playoff time against guys like Embidd, Barnes, Ingram, Brown...etc...

I keep coming back to going after Sabonis. Just think he's a smarter, tougher all around player than KAT, and the money saved allows us to resign Mitch also and going after a buyout guy like KP later on. There's gotta be a way we can get Sabonis for KAT even if it involves a 3rd team like GSW taking KAT.

I mean SAC wanted to trade for Kuminga this summer.

So why not do a 3 way there where KAT goes to GSW?

They only don’t care if they feel like they win a title this year. Being over the second apron completely straps them and then they have to get under after 2 years. I think they delay that as long as they can. So I do think they really care about it.

Jaren Jackson Jr has always been the guy I would target.. he brings better D and a perimeter game.

Yes - OG could net enough pics - plus larger salary contribution towards trade.

There is a world (in my mind) where you could sacrifice BOTH wings and keep a trio of Jalen/Greek/Kat.

Would it work? Probably not but it's possible the 2 wings would have more trade value together vs Kat and 1 wing.

Hell no to shipping out Wingstop to create KAT + Giannis

Any chance you are an AI bot having a bout of hallucinations?

Did you dip into my stash when I was delivering Mr. Rose's weekly supply?

Just asking

Our defense would be even stronger so I would consider.

but... we should really bring back Thibs as he would have a stroke if we had Gobert and Mitch protecting the rim with a defensively challenged coach

Knicks defensive rating:
2O24-25 = 114.94
2025-26 = 114.7
Looks like " defensively challenged coach" is doing better in his first season ( new system, so lots of learning to do, it's only the beginning) than the great defensive coach Thibs was doing in his last season, after years and years of his system ( no more learning at that point, that was the best it was going to get)

Everything you have ever wanted is on the other side of fear- George Adair

i mean to be fair, Thibs didn't have Mitch until late in the season last year. and he obviously changes everything.

Not interested. OG gets into the opposing teams passing lanes and when he’s hitting his shots he’s tough to stop even for elite teams. The bucks want half of our roster it’s like we have to pay a special tax meanwhile other teams like the lakers can get whoever they want.

its crazy because KAT aside, this team can not win it all without Mitch IMO. so we are always going to be reliant on him to be at the ELITE level. OG too of course. Last season we were lucky enough to have everyone mostly healthy, which made missing the finals even more disappointing. Getting a healthy playoff run is hardly guaranteed for any team.
