Jason Kidd ----- I think he's become an outstanding coach
Chris Paul ----- this was via Isola and it would be extremely interesting (even as a player coach)

Both would be very interesting. One immediate issue, both were pass first point guards. Do they develop that (some) with JB or is this a square peg and round hole situation

Paul would be a gamble as a player/coach. Dont know how Brunson would respond as team captain.

But the locker room knows he's a future HOFer. The respect would be there.

But Id lean toward Paul coaching in street clothes. All his attention on coaching. Not healing.

I’ve always liked Kidd as a coach and he would probably be my first choice but he’s not available unless you want to send the mavericks draft picks.

I’m a huge fan of Monica McNutt. I’d replace SAS with her all day. She’s an actual fan. Would miss her on the game calls though.

I had never heard this before: Thibs wanted Knicks to draft Jalen Williams.

This would have been the Ousmane Dieng, Jalen Williams, Jalen Duren draft where Knicks used assets to get space for Brunson.

Found this interesting also … Begley reported that Leon hired Johnny Bryant, it was not a Thibs hire, and he felt he was one of the best young coaches and wanted him to be part of the rebuild.

Seems like over the years Thibs went from a guy who would do anything for a job and to get another chance, including allowing his boss to dictate his staff, to going back to “my way or the highway” after finding success here. Seems like his refusal to take suggestions on the starting lineup and bench only to do it under desperation later did him in. I could see how that situation would get him fired when the stakes are so high.
