It's weird to me, Precious is the type of dude that Thibs and staff usually get the most out of. Athletic, defensive dudes who typically struggle on the offensive side of things.

Curious to see how the offseason unfolds for Precious. If he was a more beefy stew disciplined type of player, he would be gold within a rotation next to KAT ala Mitch.

Even though its unnecessary I'm gonna keep send closking that Beef Stew pick. I think Thibs has unlocked some amazing D out of Precious at times, but ultimately its up to Precious to realize he's not that good at basketball and just lean into the things he can do. Precious is a pretty decent finisher and generally OK scoring in the paint on a handful of moves. His value is clearly on defense where has great feet, great recovery and great range. Last year he was ferocious on the boards...not so much this year for some reason. If he stopped trying to be things he isn't, he'd probably lock into being a really good role player in an 8-9 man rotation. Right now he's on the fringe and at a Vet MLE salary slot. Meanwhile Beef Stew who is less skilled possibly is a 10-15 mm role player.

I have had it in the back of my mind that Thibs and staff did more of a hands off type of coaching style this year, whether purposely or because of circumstance, I'm not sure.

It's like they've put forth some general concepts for the players and let them feel their way through it more on their own. You can almost see it with Precious and Mikal. Even in regards to how Josh plays. Or how Jalen and KAT try out variations with their PnR and how it's not as structured as it could be.
