Sas is of course extreme. should we consider perhaps the fact that Swoops and others were so adamant it might have created more buzz and curiosity to tune in and see for ones self? Maybe? That there was maybe racial element created more interest?
Now, Perhaps I heard more "She has to prove herself before accolades are given" might have been more prevalent? That Clark took a beating created more hype? Maybe? That she kept quiet while others kept yapping fueled more controversy? Angel Reese did prove she could play, but not to that level. She is very much about branding and exposure so her getting sound bites do make her more money. Even if she going on about how her salary don't cover the rent. We got us a regular Bird/Magic type rivalry? That they players only get 10% is due to a lot of factors and as I said is this opt out window about this year but not available next? |

Tweet was deleted or there was problem with the URL: Fever new president Kelly Krauskopf has been on fire. This was the last straw to clear out the bad front office the Fever have had for years. This also means they have a new good coach lined up already. A WNBA insider said they were talking to Stephanie White while Sides was under contract. SO this probably means they signed her as the new coach. Kelly also fired the trash GM who made countless mistakes. Kelly has a history with the Fever but joined the Pacers front office. She helped build that team around Hali. Now she is back to maximize the team around Caitlin. |

Sides then forced the team to play slow and go through Aliyah Boston. She wanted what she called "paint touches". All these tactics fail to utilize the generational rookie you just drafted. The team only improved when she gave over the team to Caitlin when everything the coach wanted to do failed. Caitlin excels in a fast pace style and Kelsey Mitchell is one of the fastest guards in the league. Playing fast also means they scored before the defense set since Sides have poor half court plays. I have not even touched the off court stuff. Sides on multple occasions threw Caitlin under the bus and spoke about having to "break her bad habits". She talked to the media about private conversations. After getting snubbed from Team USA she texted Sides that they "Woke a monster". When talking to the media Caitlin gave the perfect Jalen Brunson like answer only for Sides to reveal her texts right after. When talking about the Fever improving we have to remember the phrase "correlation does not imply causation". We improved because of Caitlin, AB, Kelsey and Lexie. This was mostly the same team and coaching staff that last year got the first pick. What Sides did extremely well was keep an amazing locker room culture even with all the BS going on in the league. WNBA media will tell you there was no bias against Caitlin but her fans will always remember. It is also proof at how harshly she was reffed. She only got like 2 calls out of like 20 on the season on landing space calls. The foul that she took was a normal foul while JT gets a F2. The blindside hit that started all the drama was not even called a F1. It got upgraded to one by the league after the game. |

Found the 4th quarter of one of the fun Fever vs Storm game. This was Lexies coming out part after the coach kept her on the bench most of the season. She hit like 6/7 3's then got in the rotation and ended up being our 4th best player. Lexie was so amazing I forgot Caitlin also had her normal masterclass this game. Hopefully I can find the Dallas games because those were the most fun of the season. |

As more information comes out about how abusive WNBA teams are behind the scenes this person articulated my feelings on the WNBA better than I could have. In addition to the lawsuit due to how the team treated a pregnant player there is now another one about coaches being abusive to their players.

The WNBA is still in its infancy there's bound to be conduct they need to weed out over time. Problem is, the bad conductors are in the majority. The original title of this thread was that you aren't allowed to be great at basketball, white and straight in the WNBA until you wanted it changed. Now here we are back at the beginning. League been operating 27 years. Still in its infancy?
But we talking a league that let Isiah Thomas be president of Liberty AFTER he was found liable for sexual harassment. Its a complex set of issues that revolve around WNBA>. You have a large contingent of gay women and we marketing the game to the all of America including little girls. Ugly the way some did not rally around Brittney Grenier when she was incarcerated by Russia over a Vape Pen! As for Ms. Caitlen Clark I was super impressed with how she handled all of this in her rookie season. She delivered on the court but also took a beating and let her game speak loud. Because thats all that really mattered. The jealousy of her being a WHITE GIRL with hype looked bad on those who despensed it. I have no problem with Angle Reese but her words rang out louder than her game. She profits from the attention. Clark bought a lot of interest and I for one enjoyed the playoffs. Despite being a star I never saw Aja Wilson or Naphessa Collier play prior. Is it fair that it took a pale white girl to direct many to the game? Perhaps on some scale the answer would be "no". But there will be a star out of college who will rise above others and if she is black then it will be that. |
