This regime is very tightlipped, I dont think anyone knows what they're doing. OG was speculated because it made a ton of sense and he switched to CAA. but even that trade dropped out of nowhere with no leaks beforehand.

Pretty odd comments from Brown considering he's locked into a contract on another team ... lol. Never really heard someone be that blunt about their desire to play for the opposing coach like that. Odd.

I don't really want Brown, we have Deuce. We need a scorer. Especially at that price tag.

Capella's offensive rebounding has been pretty much on par with Mitch, and he's healthier, more of a lob threat and not a liability at the FT line.

If we really want to make a serious run, Capella and DJM are the two guys we should be going after.

You might have to be content with a DJN fathead and a Capella bobble head.

Thought that was odd as well and tbh while Brown is a really good Jack of all trades —— he sure seems like J-Hart duplication.

On the + it’s really nice have a team of hard nosed, tough, smart, capable players that make unit greater than sum of parts.

Grimes for Herb Jones would be interesting because Herb can play 2-4 and would give us elite wingspan/D on wings with OG. Shooting is hit/miss but love Harb Jones if we could get him. I would assume Thibs would love Herb.

In a vacuum, I'd consider it. But this time needs ball handling and shooting more than it needs a Herb Jones type right now.

Man, Cleveland already has a title. That's why I refuse to support Fathead and funnel anymore money to Dan Gilbert.

From HawkSquawk about an hour ago:

Update:

Team is looking for two firsts and either a quality young player, a player on a team friendly deal ie cheap or expiring contract(s) for DJM.

Team is trying hard to attach Capela and/or Hunter to DJ in a trade. Team is trying to shed salary (heard this one before?) and recoup draft assets for what they gave up to get Murray.

Idea has shifted from getting a second star player either now or in the offseason to this goal. If no deal is there that satisfices above wants at the deadline expect it to happen in the offseason when teams are more flexible in trade offers.

I took it to mean that Atlanta FO couldn’t drum up much beyond what Knicks was ready to offer.

Two teams in both conferences have emerged as serious trade suitors for Raptors swingman Bruce Brown, league sources tell @ClutchPoints late Sunday evening.

The New York Knicks in the East and the Los Angeles Lakers in the West.

I don't see it. He's on an expiring contract making $22mil, So don't love given up assets for him. He also isn't elite at anything that we need.

It's not quite an expiring. It's a team option that the team would likely pickup for salary in a future trade. But I agree, his skillet has a lot of overlap with Josh. If there's anyone on the Raptors roster we need I'd say it's Schroeder, and I would only consider it if everything fell through.

I wonder why the Knicks didn't ask for Schroeder back alongside OG instead of Precious/Malachi. They must have really liked Precious as a backup big - and given he has been playing ahead of Sims whom they have been developing for 3 years, that would seem to be the case.

Think Toronto said that their Dick was untouchable

I can see why they'd want to hold onto their Dick

Thanks, completely missed the TO for next year.

yea it seems like Bruce Brown is more of a contract play than an actual player of need play. If you can get a useful player to also carry-over the Fournier expiring to next year then that's probably what they are thinking. Once Fournier is gone, making a legit trade becomes much harder.

Because the Knicks did need a big. And Malachi sucks compared to Schroeder, so Toronto needs him next to IQ.

And the Knicks wouldn't have been able to swing the $$$ for Schroeder.
