And this poor shooting is not a fluke! We haven't shot well the entire season. Games like game two are the fluke where we uncharacteristically shoot decent from three. That is not going to happen 90% of the time! This is why I think going up against this Miami team might have been the worst opponent for us. They are just too experienced and shoot the ball so much better that it's hard to compete.

Even tougher when your top two players play and shoot like crap. Randle especially was annoying in this game. Typical sleep walking Randle game where he plays as if he's a rookie and has no awareness defensively. Brunson did not look himself either. Looks a step slow like he did in game two so the time off didn't really do much. Went 0/5 from three which is killer.

And the lack of bench production, which was one of the biggest strengths the entire season, has been another killer. One of the worst things that happened was Grimes getting hurt. It sent Hart to that starting lineup and he's better suited off the bench on this team. It provides better balance and spacing. Having RJ and Hart together doesn't work against Miami. But I don't see Thibs changing this now.

Sucks to see IQ get injured. That looked bad and I would be surprised if he's back this season. Hopefully his poor playoffs are growing pains and he'll learn and get better from it. That's basically where I am with the entire team. Just go down fighting and learn from it for the future. Going forward, yeah we're down 2-1 but it's hard to see us beating that team three more times in 4 games. At least we didn't get swept! And I just don't want the season to end in game five at MSG.

If we win the next one it becomes 2 out of three on our home court

We have Hart trying to set screens but Mitch playing Harry Houdini all over.

Agree with your take. I thought RJ was aggressive, just not very efficient. There was one point in the second half where Randle got hit in the face under the rim. Both teams sprinting down the court. Randle is walking back. I'm waiting for him to appear from the right of the screen. Eventually he pops up, still walking.

I wrote earlier in the season about comparing players to Knick greats with few playoff wins under their belt. This applies to Randle more than anyone. He was laughing on the floor during that scrum. I doubt Thibs was happy about that. Not sure why he got so many minutes. Obi wasnt any better, but at least his head was in the game.

Brunson is one tough player, but I'd rather see him do a better job of trying to get his teammates going, instead of all the one on five. Recognize when that tactic isnt producing results.

Thibs still playing a tight rotation, and they're paying for it.

It's more like we WILL lose next one if we continue to shoot like this. At that point it's pretty much a wrap
