The mavs have skewed themselves up big time. They are so intent on getting a second superstar scorer to pair up with Luka but i think a better fit next to luka should be more of a two-way superstar player like a Jimmy butler or maybe Murray of the hawks. Someone who can be happy to do whats needed defensively and can be counted on to score if needed. The mas have been gifted by drafting Luka but somehow mishandled how best to surround him.

Letting Jalen walk was a huge mistake, panicking and trading for Kyrie and giving away their defensive identity. May e the only good thing they are doing is losing, atleast they can keep their draft pick.

Dallas may have their own Murphy's Law situation where they finish the season in 10th place and then in the lottery fall back to 11 and we get the pick and then they are so desperate they give Kyrie the Max and he stays with them.

Dallas plays Atlanta and that's a winnable game for them. Chicago has to lose to Memphis and pick back in play. I tell ya what, if Kyrie is really a franchise killer watch him give them a few wins at the end to keep them from getting the pick this year.

Looking at Chicago and okc particularly as those are the teams Dallas can jump back ahead of to get that pick in the 11-12 range. Dallas and Chicago actually play each other Friday in a game that may have some big ramifications towards that pick. And okc has a few tough games so I think dallas is going to be really focused on grabbing that 10th spot as everyone knows that have the potential to be dangerous.

The Mavs not resigning Brunson prior to last season is the biggest blunders in NBA history, but I wish that can win 3 of their last few games. We could use that pick.

The Kyrie trade is looking pretty bad. They made their team worse. The 2029 1st rd pick is unprotected

It will be if Brunson is elected to HOF or MVP.
Lets be real, letting him go is not even the Mavs worst blunder!
Letting Steve Nash walk was. He was an allstar, and he had some back issues making it scarey to resign him. Suns did. He was two time league MVP after.

The Lakers trade Norm Nixon for what became the top pick Lakers used to draft
The septian rule. When Lakers traded Don Ford and their pick in 1980 to Clev for Butch Lee and what became the No. 1 pick in 1982 RIGHT AFTER WINNING THE CHAMPIONSHIP. They took Future HOF James Worthy.
Jazz signed aging gail goodrich awarding Lakers two no 1 picks. one was the 1989 pick for Magic Johnson.
Blunders.
So many. Knicks trade for Eddy Curry? A player Bulls were paying him to retire because of a heart arrhythmia issue and then we give Bulls two unprotected picks. Isiah was right about one thing: Eddy did not die.

Dallas fans must be spitting tacks over letting JB walk. Bit early to know the magnitude of that but its a big one for sure!
If we win a chip this year it grows in stature!!!!!

I will say that despite being frustrated about Dallas, this is such a great spot to be in as a Knicks fan. It’s uncharted territory for us. We have a good team , that is also owed picks from bad teams, and are rooting for Dallas to win games so we can have their lottery pick. If it doesn’t happen this year so be it, but it’s a fun process nonetheless.

So, if Dallas ends up at 10, which team in 11-15 are you hoping wins either the 1, 2 or 3 slot to get us that 11 pick? I'm going with Thunder.
You know I gonna spin wit it

Meant to say “one of the” biggest blunders in NBA history. Yes, the Mavs letting Nash go was even bigger.

My opinion is we'll be okay without a #1 this year. We have plenty going forward. The team is in a very different place talent wise than in recent times. Closer to tweaking than needing an infusion of talent. I trust this FO to make the moves it sees as needed, using that draft capital if necessary - trading for a player or players or getting a pick if they see their guy available.

Wholly agree. Feel like this team could dump starting talent and still have the same competitiveness with its depth. Tonight’s game (against a depleted Washington) still showed that the yoots will be able to perform.

It's really quite amazing to see the turnaround in our talent base in 3 years!

Mavs down 1 point with 1 second left to play and Wood missing the free throw to tie the game. Mavs suck.
