I thought the kid couldn't score🤷
Or maybe the Celtics are just that bad.

Exactly this. KP and his handlers were a major part of that dysfunction. While most fans were pissed at that trade I was fine with having him traded after he started showing signs of being a diva. I had enough of the Drama and just wanted it gone even if the source of it was the best player we had at the time.

Can't stand Dwight Howard, there's probably a reason nearly all his many teams wanted rid of him within a season the last few years

Dwight is a character for sure. He will be HOF given his stats and awards early. He has blended well as a role player with far limited abilties but contributes as well. Looks to be some sort of altercation and he is there.

Between him and Rondo, you have potential personality clashes. Its Lebrons team and he has earned that many times over. AD is the first option but not the lead alpha talent which is ok when its just him and Lebron. But now you have Westbrook and while everyone has the best intentions getting these old salty guys to integrate is the key to sucess. Westbrook with his motor could get many easy looks but his shooting is suspect and if he is not controlling the ball he does not know (YET) what to do?
Melo likely looking at all this and thinking “Y’all just let me know what to do, I’ll do it”… Then there is Rondo with savant often right takes but socially inappropriate stark truths that don’t always come off right. For those who are married, its like when your wife tells you somthing thats 100% correct and in your bests interests but the timing is wrong and you take it badly. Thats Rondo.
Pro players are emotional and taking criticism is not easy.
In fact, its the heart of Ben Simmons conflict.

KP with Hornacek did not go well. Lets stop for a minute and laugh. According to our friend 1248 he kinda sympathizes that team was so culturally bad that he don’t blame him for wanting out. All this while he was our best player, all star, and 12 months into his acl rehab. With his off court issues he also exhausted the FO. Remember, Perry was our GM. I will give props to Phil who did a lot of things wrong, but he did redirect the franchise to stop starphuching and lay a foundation. MIlls continues it with Perry who both were not at it very long and also carried the torch in the right direction. We an argue the semantics and that MIlls was fired for about to panicking to save his ass. I agree with his dismissal then and even more with hindisght to what Leon bought to the team. That he kept Perry and extended him validates Perry’s qualities. Owner supports his president, President support his GM, GM in synch with Coach and staff. All good. That said, KP had a list of teams he wanted in on. When he and Janis went to visit to give them and instead was told “phuch off, your traded”, he was sent to what was to be a bigger shyt show than us: Dallas Mavs! It took until last summer for them to clean house and rid of the drama. See the irony? KP has proven too fragile to build around and it is what it is. In his place we got Randle. KP now has coach kidd and has to tap into wha tis hopeful a maturity to take coaching and grow from it.
Joel Embiid maned up when called out. Randle manned up and put in the work. Players do this all the time.

Dwight has some issues with this and never reached his potential despite a HOF career. Simmons pushes back and at age 25 has not figured things out or matured which prevents him from reaching his potentiial.

How do people like David Griffin make big money to be a GM and are this clueless. It was as obvious as it gets last year that Lonzo was primed for a big season this year. This is why I wanted him so much in the offseason. David let him go for NOTHING! when Zion leaves that team it will mostly be Griffs fault. People had to much faith in him just because he was the GM of a Lebron team. As shown by the Lakers Lebron is the GM of any team he is on except the Heat. Pat was not having any of that.

Cavs over Hawks by 6.

Last year Trae easily gets more than 6 points for free.

KP was one of the reasons for that direction.

You should actually be Thanking KP for allowing Mills to make a one sided trade that ultimately got him fired 12 months later.

I still would prefer Thibs coaching a Front court of Randle & KP

In this same thread i said going 0-6 in preseason was a major concern for a team with that much talent. They were given the most preseason games just so they can get their sht together

This is a clumsy half ass put together roster that don't fit.

One sided? I'm getting you mean as a win for the Mavs. Well yeah we did give up Tim Hardaway Jr. if that is what you mean. Oh and Trey Burke. Okay gotcha.

Making **** up again 1248. Lopsided trade created cap space that was used to sign Randle.
MIlls/Perry get credit for understanding Randles upside.
Proof? It is what it is.
MIlls got fired for a number of reasons well documented. Perhaps in part was the culture was void of being credible which is why Durant rejected Knicks. Its been corrected. You really are alone in blaming Mills for KP’s displeasure. KP was never happy. Did Mavs change their staff for him or Doncic? LOL

In Dolans defense it looked as if Mills was given a goal and was about to panic, hence the reason he got fired. He would have mortgaged the future to save his ass? Did Dolan already have Leon pegged to replace him? All the CAA stuff talked about never saw that coming, but given Leons role there its not somehting he could unwind very quickly given his ownership stake. So its very likely That was in place when mills was relieved. New President would want his own coach.

Whats your basis of callng the trade lopsided? It created opportunity to sign Durant/Kyrie and what became Randle. Cap space comes at a price.

So what is the current haul from the Tim Hardaway Jr. trade? Created the cap space for Randle which only election deniers don't accept. Also for Morris who became Quickley. Grimes. Another #1 to come. Even DSJ was parlayed into Rose.

But yeah Timmy's pretty good.

And I suspect you'll prefer it independent of the fact KP is a middling NBA player right now.

Barnes is the real deal!! Kid can do-it all. Barnes has more potential than Draymond Green who he was compared to on multiple scouting reports...

There's no Leon if Mills is still here making Bad move after bad move, don't forget mills was hrs away from pulling another Bad trade With GSW for D Russel, using all of the assets and cap space he got from the KP trade

If your telling me you would prefer Mitch, Taj or Noel over KP.....this conversation is over Mr Homer

Nobody is saying mills should have been retained. we just saying the trade was not lopsided. things worked out ok in the long run. No need to demonize Mills beyond what happened. He got fired, Perry stayed team evolved and its all improved. You don’t get here with that not happening. He did not trade for D’russell so whats the point? Oh wait, your trying to paint yourself a savant again? Oh man, Ok……

Congrats 1248, you're officially the first person on this forum to excuse me of being a Knicks homer.

And yes, I'd prefer the guy who makes $1.8m and plays excellent defense for a center and rebounds over the guy who makes $31m and plays below average defense as a center and rebounds and shoots jumpshots like an average small forward.

You really ought to look into why disparaging Mitchell Robinson is such a personal fixation for you.
