Kp needs to stay on a program that curtails his games to 60-64 and 27-28 min. I think kp is a great player — I think we all know that but he’s not staying healthy

Can someone explain why is it "woke" instead of "awake'? I honestly thought this was just a KP thing, a mistake he made because he is not a native speaker. Please pardon my ignorance, I have been away from the States for a long time and have gotten disconnected from the zeitgeist.

Just guessing here, but I think 'woke' carries more of an emphasis on the fact that one has previously been asleep, and now is aware of what one had been asleep to before.
Whereas being awake is just how you carry on in your daily life. |
