Agree. But as you can see, everybody was calling for his head. Even some current knick fans I will not call out. Maybe we will look back and say the same about thibs one day. I wouldn’t be surprised.

I can’t fathom to anyone remembering my position then. Really, I had no issue with Woodson and his infinite blacker than black facial hair! It was all about the age of our roster and fans thinking that roster performance was sustainable given we retired 5 allstar players after the season. Some like Kidd and Rashweed crawled to the finish line in bad shape. When Grunwald as let go in October it sealed his fate.
Mills was named president. By christmas dolan was flirting with Phil and by march he was hired.
Philc forgets Woodson removal had little to do with his coaching. It was roster construction and FO that needed to go in a new direction. Woodson was on the bench when MDA left. THat itself was a **** show.
Unfortunately The Phil Jax era never took hold and while it did lay the groundwork for the end of starphuching and trading picks, the triangle culture never took hold.

Woodson is a good coach but not good enough to build with. He was not blamed for the team getting old, his contract ran out and PHil Jax wanted Steve Kerr to build it with him.
