Not excusing Melo for losing his cool and the game, but apparently Kevin Garnett said Lala tastes like Honeynut Cheerios

What's interesting is Doc defended his player and called Melo a snitch, Woodson didn't even support his player nearly as much.

What's more interesting is Woody not wasting time re-inforcing the common knowledge that KG is a documented A-class munghole, and not acting like he hears everything on all parts of the court at all times, like Doc "SuperNintendo Ears" Rivers. My MVP is suspended, stay at the hotel, get ready for the Bulls, everybody else, step up.

Asking Woody to be like Doc Rivers is like asking Tyson to be like Travis Knight. Out of character and would accomplish nothing.

The Celtick organization has gone completely downhill since Red died.

This isn't a KG issue. Trash talk happens. KG knows the boundary lines. <------Doc's take on reality.

KG's a d-ckhead. KG should be banned for life. Melo was in the right to not throw a punch. My main man should not be suspended. He should get Citizen of the Year award for his incredible restraint. Anyone else would have beaten up the entire Celtic starting 5. The league is out for us now that we're winning. Stu is a charter member of the Somber Six. <------ what I guess you think Woody should have said.

My point was, Woody doesn't need to emulate Doc. Nothing to profit by sounding like a moron.

Nah, but he should say what KG actually said, what's there to hide?

Duncan admits he hates that dude, even Charlie V stated what KG said.

But makes no difference, Woodson should have stood up for Melo, that's what he should have done.

Worst of all Melo "talked it out" with this guy, this is just really bad all over, KG disses Duncan and Duncan admits he hates him, but Melo talks it out, that's crazy,

Either way you slice the cake, someone should have been there to stand up for Melo, because you can't have your top scorer and franchise player going into crazy things like that, Melo isn't an enforcer, he's your number 1 player, can't expect him to fight, but no one was there to go hard at KG, and that's the real problem here

No video of Lebron ALLEGEDLY feuding with that guy and the other two videos are guys battling IN GAME

Where is this assumption that an argument wouldnt follow outside the court coming from? Makes no sense...You're either prone to an altercation, or you're not.

It's not an assumption, the altercations you listed didn't follow outside the court,

There is hot greasy beef every night, in every game in the NBA, but you don't have guys going crazy by the team bus,

Celtics bus had to be clowning Melo for the entire ride back to hotel

So if Dirk, Lebron, etc were going thru marital issues, and a known p.o.s antagonist was making crude remarks about his wife and their issues, you can guarantee me they wouldnt take the argument off the court because?...

I'm sure all those guys have played against KG many times,

Melo is not the first guy KG talked crazy **** to, you didn't see Tim Duncan acting a fool at the team bus, and KG said something to Duncan that's, I think, much more offensive

You didnt answer my question, predictably, and we're not talking about Duncan. I specifically left him out of the discussion, because he's a robot.

Robots got rings.

That's where the coach comes in...do you think Haslem and Dexter Pittman of all people did their stuff on their own in the playoffs last season?

Nope, they were instructed, and they took one.

Van Gundy would've been on KG's leg in that situation, Woody fell off here

Yeah, and that was a coaching highlight that meant alot, wasn't it? I don't know what was more meaningful and engendered more Knick pride, my coach attacking Zo's shoes like an insane tick, or my coach doing drive by interviews on the way to practice.

Operating on the premise that the rported is true....

Gotta be honest. I respect Melo for his actions. Personally, I am surprised he didn't punch KG right in the mouth. I'd have accepted that.

Even Reggie Miller said trash talking has rules. Kids, relatives (dead or alive) , and especially spouses are taboo. Those are his words not mine, btw.

KG has over the years ramped up his trash talk to make up for his declining skills. Should Melo have handled the situation differently, I can't in good conscience pas judgement and say yes. I speak from personal experience, going through a divorce myself, you do things that just aren't you sometimes. Sometimes logical thinking really is out the window. Sometimes the wrong words make you snap, rightly or wrongly. From my point of view it could have been a lot worse.

The worst part of it is that KG got off scott free. Given his track record he is gonna run across the wrong individual he won' t be able to feign innocence away from and something is gonna happen. The NBA should open an investigation on KG for the incident because this sends a messed up message.

And Doc can go jerk off a leprechaun with his covering for KG. It's that obvious.

even if what you were accusing me of saying ABOUT THEM were true it was not a personal attack ON YOU. that's the difference.

and if you want to defend their character that badly then provide evidence of their being good and ethical people. all you have been doing in lieu of that is constantly attempting character assassination of me.

so everyone knows what you are referring to this is what i wrote: "i suspect that melo's wife LaLa was a major factor in impelling carmelo to not honor his contract with denver. ironic. now it looks as though karma may be insinuating itself, as it usually does, into ones life."

now please tell me again how you derive that i personally wished ill on them, claiming whatever pain they feel is karmic.

and tell me again how repeating your claim over and over again ad nauseam that "they did nothing wrong" in regards to the trade somehow makes you right?

knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%

Not sure what you meant by you reap what you sow if you are not wishing ill will. Again in that economic climate, Anthony and the nuggets did nothing wrong. The owners had told the players they were locking them out to reign in salaries and make free agency more restrictive. The cavs and raps had lost their stars for nothing. There was no way melo was going to be a nugget after the trading deadline. This fantasy that he should have waited for the offseason, the lockout, and the new cba so that he could play with better Players, make less money and ethically screw the nuggets is crazy. This was never going to happen. Nuggets were never waiting. Maybe you should say you just hate melo because there is no basis for your unethical argument.

karma has nothing to do with personal animus or ill will, nor does the adage "you reap what you sow," nor even does the statement "they had it coming to them." so please stop accusing me of it. there is a child involved and that is already tragic.

as to the rest of the post you do make a compelling argument. but then i would say in response that he should have gone to the nets instead. that way the knicks could have continued to rebuild. but dolan had to step in and foul the nest. the last thing a player should do is jeopardize the place he is trying to get to, but when you have a hapless doofus like dolan around common sense and pragmatism is a vague rumor. the trade made zero sense for carmelo because he hurt the knicks and it made zero sense for dolan because he had a gm who was working from a plan.

i have heard all the justifications a million times so there's no need to go into them here-- it's water under the bridge. but the clock is ticking and i want to see results, like finals appearance results.
