I've put a pin in this post, iSergio. I hope that you are right, but there is entirely a chance we are a lottery team next season.

Think of it like this. We get free agents, the picks wont matter. We don't get free agents, we'll be awful next season, and we may keep the pick b/c we'll be challenging to be the worst team in the league. Maybe John Wall will stay in school for another year.

You really think we're getting shut out in free agency? I just can't see it. Once these free agents come visit New York, it's all over. You know Donnie Walsh and co. will get the entire city on the recruiting pitch. We're not the Milwaukee Bucks. You underestimate the power and draw of New York.

i don't doubt we'll get SOMETHING in free agency this year... i just can't be 100% positive that we're getting Lebron & Wade/Bosh/Amare this offseason... sorry but if we end up with consolation prizes like Joe Johnson & Carlos Boozer this summer, i'm gonna be plenty pissed about it... we gave up all these assets for 1 name & 1 name only, & that's Lebron James... anything less at this point is a complete failure... we weren't all in before, but we're damn sure all in now.

Yup. We made a deal as if we actually traded for LeBron. We have no cushion, unless we're the single worst team in the league AAAAAAAAAAAND win the lotto.

even if we're the worst team in the NBA next year we only have a 25% crack at winning the lottery... & chances are a rookie isn't gonna come in & make us into a playoff contender, so that means our 2012 pick will also be a high lottery pick we just threw away... bottomline is we HAVE to get Lebron & another stud this offseason or else we look like fools.

I don't know but it looks like Boston wants to use Nate tonight against the Lakers.

Can someone explain to me WHY WE DID THIS TRADE if we didn't get a draft pick out of it?!

The coach was no longer comfortable with Nate in his life. He needs to be free of stress.

It doesn't look like he'll be available tonight.

HOWEVER, he should be in uniform for their next game against Portland tomorrow night.

I WILL be watching this game.

it's a conditional 2nd round pick.

It is better than letting him just walk. Nate did give a limited list of teams that he would not veto the trade to.

ur right, House, Giddens, Walker & a conditional 2nd rounder is better than nothing... i'm not gonna kill this trade, but i would much rather have just let them keep Gidden & Walker & just taken their 1st round pick

Not if none of them will be back next season. I don't get it. We couldn't get anything worth keeping?

I thought you were joking, but it is serious. How can a second rounder be conditional from the Celtics? Only if they make the finals?

Amazing. Only in NY.

Nate wasn't returning next year and we weren't S&T'ing him.
Nate and the Coach were at a rift and it wasn't good for the team.

What is so hard to understand that he was let go? At least we got a replacement guard for him like the guy (house) or not.

Not so sure what the fury is over giving up Knucklehead Nate.

=======
Meanwhile, Celtics aren't thrilled with his arrival, either.

Players weren't exactly jumping for joy in the locker room on Thursday upon hearing that the team had acquired Nate Robinson from the Knicks.

Boston send New York a package that included guard Eddie House.

"I would've been fine if we hadn't ... we'll see whether that's the right decision or not," said coach Doc Rivers. "I like this team, I've said it over and over again. I didn't think we needed to make changes."

Rajon Rondo at first declined to discuss the trade, then opened up a bit.

"I don't know, I don't know," said Rondo. "I hope it's for the best. Eddie House can drop 20, 30 [points off the bench] too. But [the players] don't make decision, we just play the game."

Ray Allen didn't feel a trade was necessary.

"I didn't think we were bad," said Allen. "We were good."

Even Lakers coach Phil Jackson got in on the act, questioning Danny Ainge's logic.

"I really don't know about that," he said. "I have a great respect for House's game. I don't know what you can improve on that credible shooting skill that he has. House really has a strike factor in his game that can really disturb a team."
