we gotta get this kid some burn when the minutes actually matter, not 12 4th quarter minutes in a blowout loss... he's never going to learn anything getting sporadic minutes like this.

durant is a fantastic player and guys like green really play a supporting role.. they have 5 guys that understand what they are as players.. and that is good for a young team.... the young players lead and are allowed to lead.. no guys seeking contracts disrupting the team..

That is a good point. I'm tired of Duhon. Dude slows up the offense on purpose just to wait for Lee to get up the court. When his shot is off and teams guard against the pick and roll, he is utter useless. Get him off my team.

the knicks offensive sets suck... at times you will have two guys on one side, with gallo buried in the corner and bender or harrington standing next to him.. I mean really, how the hell is the guy deep in the corner ever going to touch the ball.. plus this way, it makes it easy for guys , long guys like durant and green to guard gallo, and chandler.... you have to move the ball and move bodies vs that kind of team....

It seems like they really paid attention to detail--they are a long athletic basketball team with a star good size and depth upfront a high quality PG and a good young 6th man. Westbrook could easily become the second star there as well. Looks like a good character group as well and well coached. They are so far above the curve for their collective age it's pretty incredible. I don't think they need to be big FA players--you know add a vet piece like a Collison here and there and just save the money to pay their own guys. They also have two more draft picks this in year in what will be a nice draft. If Phoenix falters--they own their pick unrestricted

I am not as high on westbrook.. doesn't handle the ball or create well enough for me.. isn't a creative passer with the ball.. I think he will be a good 6th man combo guard off the bench, but I can see them upgrading the PG position if they want to contend one day, and getting a center. But that ibaka kid looks like a solid prospect.. if he can one day give them 11/8/2 blocks, they will be fine..

As far as durant goes, he is becomming a real player, almost on brandon roy level if not there already... although as a team they are near the bottom of the NBA, they still play unselfish ball. I like jeff green, and that harden kid is going to be a decent player as well... you are right, they don't need to add another star player, but a chris bosh or amare on that team will go a long way...

It's not the sets but the guy running them that makes the diff. Until we improve at the PG spot things can only get so good. We have some pieces that can work but we all know the weaknesses we have. Not much we can do about it right now. There are no answers to fix all the problems we have currently on the roster.

Nixluva, Danphoney convinced everyone that his system compensates for the PG shortcomings of a career backup in Chris Duhon.
JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

playa - Danphoney? Is your opinion bolstered by using a demeaning name? Or is your argument weakened?

D'Antoni convinced "everyone"? I don't think so. He may have convinced you. But anyone who follows Knicks basketball carefully KNEW that Chris Duhn was only a rental as a bridge to 2010.

I would contend the D'Antoni "system" will be bolstered by Lebron at guard.

By October, Jonathan Bender will have had a Summer of added confidence to provide frontcourt depth.

I don't know why Mike can't play Curry the entire forth quarter in a blow out loss. I really don't care to see Bender this season, although he played well last night. Let him play next year.

Against team's that have us beat athletically at every position sometimes you need to switch it up. Pound it inside a little, let him use his fouls. There was no flow to this game anyway. That team is too long and quick for the knicks to stay in the game.

This is a disaster. What a horrible day. So sad I feel. They just didn't bring it, no intensity. Probably wearing out by now. But Philly is an easy win and they have something to prove by demolishing Iverson!! So they do that, and it's over.
WE AIN'T NOWHERE WITH THIS BUM CHOKER IN CARMELO. GIVE ME STARKS'S 2-21 ANY DAY OVER THIS LACKLUSTER CLUSTEREFF.

Duhon is not the ideal PG for MDA and you can bet he would've taken someone better if there was an option. DW is asking him to make due for now and tho it hurts us at the moment, MDA realizes it all for the cause. In case you forgot Playa Duhon was signed for 2 yrs and we made several attempts to bring in a better PG this off season!

You can see Mullens will be good as he develops if he stays injury free. Nice to catch a true 7 footer who can shoot the mid range post up and appears to be quite active at pick 24.

the thing is, the hawks are just as athletic and long, yet we have done well vs them.. I just think last night the knicks fell back into a lot of old habbits and just didn't play well..

Difference for me was the speed of the guards and teams in general: Bibby ain't fast any more and Westbrook was lightening, same with Brooks in Houston game. And the Thunder just HUSTLED the entire defensive time, something that Atlanta doesn't do at the same clip.

The Thunder's coach is far superior than Atlanta's Mike Woodson period. He knew how to beat the knicks pound the paint and continue to penetrate for easy scores against a weak backcourt led by crissy duhon. Woodson lets his team do what ever it wants with no structure

Same Presti is one of the top two basketball minds in all of the sport. We had to deal with Isiah Thomas while our trust fund alcoholic owner was asleep at the wheel. It's too bad we didn't get this guy.

Aside from the Spurs I don't think I have seen someone dismantle a team so quickly and add so much young talent.

Maynor, Kristic, Greene, Westbrook, Durant, Harden

This team is lightening quick. The Hawks don't have anyone like Westbrook on their roster at the guard position that can blow by you at will and elevate around the basket. Smith is the only kid that really comes to mind. Marvin and Horford aren't as smooth as the guys on the Thunder. The Hawks are good don't get me wrong, but they are a far better matchup for us.

We really need to give Eddy time on the court a few minutes a quarter. You know he wants to play. I don't like his work ethic, I don't feel sorry for the guy, but when Al Harrington is the low post threat you are in massive trouble. Get the guy some reps.
