briggs this is not "done cooked over rover" you lose more and more credibility with each absurd post about how hillary should've been picked, get over it. you are as self-righteous as the clinton camp, ppl know very little about palin, in a month i'd like to see where public opinion is and in 2 months will be election day. this is far from over, there are in fact 2 months left.

Also try to do some math my man:) add up 36+MM votes--all they needed to win was 1/4 of the rest and it was a double digit victory. 20% would get it done comfortably. This is all out the window. If we major tracking polls on Monday that show McCain +3-5 it's going to be over.

i mean, you are simply discounting the vast #'s of voters registered by obama. how do you account for $10 mil being raised by the obama campaign within 24 hours of palin's speech? how do you account for the most new donors donating to obama's campaign within 24 hours of mccain's speech? not to mention that out of those 36 mil, how many are really going to vote for mccain after bill and hillary urging them to follow obama at the DNC? you can't just slot 18 million votes for mccain because he picked a woman to run with him, thats ridiculous.

Im not slotting anything because there is no Obama Clinton ticket. You are not getting the effect this woman has had on other women. They are going to tip the scale.

Hey everyone this is how allegedly Sarah Apalining referred to Obama's win over Hillary:

[quote]“So Sambo beat the bitch!”

Oh this will almost become too easy if the Democrats play hardball with this women.

Here's a link illuminating Apaling's racist attitudes.

http://www.laprogressive.com/2008/09/05/alaskans-speak-in-a-frightened-whisper-palin-is-%E2%80%9Cracist-sexist-vindictive-and-mean%E2%80%9D/

My question to Republicans out there, Briggs ala bitter Hillary Clinton supporters would you even consider voting for McCain knowing that his VP maybe a hardcore racist and stands against everything that Hillary Clinton has ever supported?

I would not vote for McCain under any circumstance. But let's take a real life scenario. I listened today as my wife her two sisters and aunt all were talking about how they were going to vote for McCain and that they loved this *sarah*. They are fringe voters meaning they don't follow the whole gig very closely[which probably represents a lot of voters anyway right???] they watch one or two speeches and or debates and FOLLOW the leader--a popularity contest. It's all about momentum and popularity. Right now the Rebublicans picked up that momentum and it's going to be hard to turn off that switch in the next two months--we honestly would not even be talking about this if
A. Hillary was the nominee
B Hillary was the VP

My bet is 30% vote on the issues 70% vote on a follow the leader basis.

Your #s are way off. Closer to 80% vote for the political party and the same party every time. After that, maybe your 7:3 ratio still holds for the remaining 20%. Hillary is hated by Republicans and most independents, though. Instead of leading by a solid 6 or so points, Obama could easily be trailing if he had her on the ticket.

Number 1 you are fooling yourself if you are comparing the *effect* that Hillary would have on the ticket compared to Joe Biden. This would be over. Number 2 watch the polls next week when they come out for that solid 6 point lead you are purporting. If you are young like you say you are that you must not remember the 90's very well. If Hillary was not popular among voters of every demographic--she wouldnt have landslided in NEW YORK my man! She wouldnt have had more votes than Obama or atleast as many 18mm! You can think whatever you want but you're wrong. And next week when the polls come out--you will understand what I mean.
Hillary's popular among liberals. So she does well in NY and well among Dem primary voters but poorly once you let independents and republicans vote.

Also, you may be right that Obama's lead will disappear next week. I DON'T think Obama has ruin a good campaign. He's been way too soft on McCain just like Kerry and Gore were on Bush. That's a separate issue from whether Hillary would have been the right choice though.

Obama = Isiah

You can't fault the job the women did tonight, and she actually did it in the face of adversity unlike Obama who has been granted a grace period in the media that fails to actually examine the man's real accomplishments. Outside of being one of the best orators the country has seen, what has he done to warrant no disection, compared to Palin who has been torn apart and ripped in typical fashion without actually listening to her first to decide who she is and how she can lead.

This appears to actually be a good choice.

LMAO. If Obama is Isiah, then John McCain is Layden. Sorry bro, but you are dead wrong.

What did she tonight? All I saw her was throw insults at Obama in a scripted speech. Yippee. If Obama is not qualified, then how is she? Because she has been a governor of ALASKA? Give me a break. Go right ahead and vote for John "George Bush II" McCain but beware of the consequences. BEWARE.

+1

......what has Obama done? He is a great speaker, he is engaging, he is intelligent,....
MS, you've just hit the nail on the head. Obama is a great speaker engaging, and intelligent. Qualities I want in a President. While "W" and McCain both are NOT great speakers; are NOT engaging; and are NOT intelligent.

Intelligence. That is why Obama has my vote!

I was telling some clowns at work this same thing. I said I don't follow the candidates politics and promises too much, because once they get into office, things change when they get the full grasp of what is going on. And on top of that, they don't have to be experts on everything, just be smart enough to surround yourself with intellegent forward thinking people, and place them in the propper positions. Bill clinton was smart, and he "got it".. Obama is very smart, and intelligent man. He seems to "get it".. when I told my co-worker that Obama went to Harvard and was the President of the Prestigious Harvard Law review. He said " So, big deal".. I was like LOL.. big deal..... some people just don't get it...

This pick is looking worse and worse by Mccain. Absolutely positively God forbid McCain gets elected AND something happens to him.

The pick was brilliant--he is going to win this election because of it. You watch the polls on Monday and consider the REPUBLICANS have clear momentum and the person with the highest approval rating of the 4 people on the ticket is PALIN at nearly 60%---Obama is doomed--and that is just sad for America. It was a terrible vP choice--they had a cakewalk and they pirsed off a LOT of democrats by the decision. This is done cooked over rover.

Bingo. I really don't get why you (Briggs) have to remind us his view every other day by stating the exact same thing in this thread? You talked about earning your credibility based on results. Are you concerned that we'll forget to give you credit if Obama loses and you don't remind us your prediction every day?

Well I think it was incredibly stupid not putting Clinton on the ticket and Im nowhere near alone on this one. There are someoBama supporteres who believed he would waltz through this and now he is in a dead on dog fight which did not have to happen. They wouldve had a double digit lead if Clinto was in there and she wouldve blunted most of the effect Miss sarah is having right now. Do the math and put 2+2 together here my man--this is brain science what is going on. The Democrats --especially Obama because he has ultimate say may have let their ego wreck the election and that is awful for democratic supporters. IMHO at the end of the Democratic nomination it was Hillary who had all the momentum and renewed energy and popularity. They let that go and it was STUPID.

Briggs,

You are obsessed, you're whole agenda has become about proving that Obama has sunk his campaign by not selecting Hillary as his VP. Get over it I've said this from the beginning Hillary is a very polarizing political figure there are those who are unquestioningly devoted to her and those who absolutely despise her. But Obama can win without her because McCain and his lipstick pit bull will make it hard for a Independent or a Moderate to vote for this ticket. So do yourself a favor go on a date with your wife, take a nap, have a beer because this obsession of yours is really bad for your health.

This is just fun stuff for me. I'm not running around with a Hillary shirt on believe it or not. At the end of the day whoever becomes President has 0 effect on my family. I'm disappointed at what I perceive as a significant blunder and I'm trying to rationalize why they did it.

Do you live in Canada or Mexico??? Or are you amongst the "18 million" sore losers who now feel that since they weren't picked in a playground game that they are now going to take their ball (or votes in this case) & go home pretending that this doesn't mean anything to them or their families???

it probably has zero effect because he is very wealthy and no matter who wins it won't affect his life.

What contest are you watching..Obama leads the electoral map 238 to 174...with 126 toss up electoral votes within a margin of 3%...272 is need to win...Obama is in the driver's seat...What he needs to do now is hammer home the theme he had during the acceptance speech...He needs to be a no nonsense guy with McCain and hit him hard...Its what the base wants, not Hilary...It's what left the democrats rejuvenated after Denver...He has reverted back to Mr. Niceguy role and that isn't going to fly this election...

Also, this contest is over when Palin begins to get quizzed by reporters about the substance issues and foreign policy...Can't wait to see her discuss the Israeli, Palestinian conflict or Georgia/Russia... I would love to see Fafreed Zakaria do that interview...McCain is trying to push her through now without being interviewed...They are planning to let her speak to FOX News only...But Palin and McCain will be called out...Where is Tim Russert when you need him...

Did you not witness how polarized the democrats were becoming during the primary?
What politician can be stupid enough to wage war with someone over ideals and issues for 3 months and then declare that person his second in command? That's political suicide, he would have lost the support of his own core fan base. I am glad he didn't pick Hillary.
