Boston still hasn't lost at home. Delonte West couldn't get the ball inbounds with 11 and change left down 6 and it cost the Cavs the game.
Will the 66-16 Celtics, who are winless on the road in the playoffs, close it out in Cleveland? It would be in their best interest to since they want NO part of LBJ in a Game 7. [Edited by - K22 on 2008-05-14 10:55 PM] -- the preceding post was brought to you by the letter K and the number 22.

The refs must have gotten Stern's memo that he wants the Lakers in the Finals because they are doing everything they can in this 4th quarter to give the Lakers this game. Ticky tack fouls on the Jazz and a no call on Gasol instead of a blatant charging call. What a joke.

Posted by islesfan: Did you just see the push off by Gasol on Okur for the offensive rebound. Scripted as it gets. Then they were hacking Boozer all game no calls. I mean how does a soft player like Gasol get hardly no calls playing against a physical player like Boozer. Everything is phony with this league oh well I guess maybe it'll be our turn come draft night. LMFAO @ the Bio http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stephon_Marbury

bitty didn't you know there was only one rogue ref caught cheating last yr.
The remaining refs are all A-1 on the up and up.

Kobe himself is averaging like 13ft attempts in this series its ridiculous if a Jazz player so much as walks in Kobe's vicinity it's a automatic foul.

My favorite was when one of the Lakers tripped up over himself in the second half, and Kirileko received a foul.

Why complain we have all seen this before, DALLAS vs MIAMI NBA finals.
Wade was the poster boy for stern and he recived many phantom calls.

If this is true, I hope the NBA finals get the worst ratings ever. It's quite a joke.Maybe that will get Stern to wise up.

Has there ever been a year where the home court mattered this much? Its unbelievable--also it seems like the home teams have been just blowing out the opponenet in 90% of the wins. It's like Jekyll and Hyde. This favors Detroit because Detroit is a team that can and will win on the road.

What David Stern needs to stop doing is constantly promoting this NBA Caring stuff. Sure it's nice, but people aren't THAT stupid. It's obvious to people that the NBA is trying to get support and viewership with their charitable work. People aren't falling for that. What they need to do is find a way to improve the quality of play. I personally think the 1 year in college rule is a good first step, but that's hardly a bandaid fix. The NBA needs to start going back to how things were in the 90s. How it's done? Dunno. I'm not David Stern. I do know, however, that the quality of play was soooooo much better.

Posted by Allanfan20: The NBA Cares thing has always puzzled me. It's somewhat backhanded marketing IMO. It's like Stern is trying his best to inform everyone "See This League Isn't Thuggish Ruggish"...."I Know It May Not Be Attractive To See These Players All Tatted Up But Here Are Some Deadweight Commercials Showing You They Know How To Read Books." Especially when all 30 teams do the same perfunctory deeds(visit a hospital, school, neighborhood projects, food drives, run mini camps). It's the only sport venue that spends 1/4-1/2 of it's commercial time on it's Parent Station showing the NBA has individuals of supposed good character and humanity. No other Sport Venue does this except a degree the NFL where they show the players in the community making it better. We know good things take place with athletes and the community. If these players are out in the community showing they truly care about human beings first and foremost and their fans, there's nothing better than word of mouth marketing. I seriously wonder if Race plays a factor in this approach? Who seriously watches these commercials and says... "Alright son that's it we're going to a Knick game I just saw Jerome James in a commercial taking time out of his day to put down a cheeseburger and pick up a hammer to help build a home in the projects." Meanwhile ignoring the ultra lazy approach he takes each off-season by not getting in shape and ripping off his employer by getting Ginormous Free Disability Checks during the season, which is paid for by the loyal fans. Also Stern does a good job at doing this when these players are in the playoffs. Like a couple of yrs ago Gilbert Arenas adopted this kid who had been living with him for quite some time who fell on tough times. No one really heard about it until the playoffs came around. Good Deeds displayed should never be timed to be promoted, it should be displayed with dignity, humility, and naturalness. Not sensationalized and glorified, which the league makes a habit of doing. I'm sure every head Marketing Director is contacted by the league and briefed thoroughly on how to go about scheduling these Player/Community events/visits/showings. As you said Allanfan he needs to take care of the basics, it isn't that hard, the fans we'll take care of the rest. Celtics looking awful yet again. If the Cavs don't knock them out, I think Detroit will.
I don't see any bling the Celtics' immediate future, that's for sure. [Edited by - K22 on 2008-05-16 9:28 PM] -- the preceding post was brought to you by the letter K and the number 22.

Wow, I don't want Boston to win this game but that was definitely not a charge on Pierce. LeBron got away with that big-time.
