as marbury plays less and less at home the fans will support the team more

He's leaving Francis in with 4 fouls and keeping Steph on the bench... that's gotta tell you something

in reality, i think isiah is protecting him

That could be true. Like if the Knicks somehow erase this lead and get up by a few points he'll probably put him in so it looks like he was part of the effort.

Are the Knicks not playing hard? I don't see a lack of effort. I see a team that is just playing very poorly. This whole "we only boo if you don't play hard" is a crock.

Knicks fans sure are intelligent. We don't like the way you're playing, so we'll boo you, which will just make it harder to get to the point where we won't boo you. Brilliant.

Mental toughness, that's a crock too. I don't care who you are, getting booed by thousands of people every time something goes wrong is not going to help you be on top of your game.

Ask Jordan about that last line whenever he played in New York.

you can ask Jordan a lot of questions that don't apply to most NBA players.

Ok. Ask Reggie Miller or Ben Gordon or Charles Barkley.

The best players always said fed off that negativity.

But Miller, Barkley and Jordan were premeir players. Delicate types such as these Knicks would be off-base to emulate the way those guys approached the game.

okay, smartest fans in the world, show me a quote where those guys say they liked getting booed at home. I'm talking about at home. not liking the hostile environment on the road. the Knicks are fine on the road. what part of this isn't clear?

Noone said they liked to be booed but if the KNicks had this guys attitude they'd be a lot better off.

Obligatory run. They have a chance to pull this out!

wait, I thought you were booing the lack of effort? so you're just booing because you're frustrated?

I agree with Tom. these are just frustration boos right now.

So you are saying they can't actually start trying in the second half and teams put an absolutely uniform effort through the whole game?

Why don't you just admit the booing worked?

why would they get booed at home? They didn't suck. Part of the reason they didn't suck is because they had the physical skills and the mental toughness. If you don't have to goods, than you don't have what it takes. So lets' get some guys that have what it takes.

I'm not sure how you're missing this part of the argument - this team is good on the road. what's wrong with them at home? do they only have talent on the road?
It's just pretty low to blame the fans. They do cheer the team from the get go. But then it goes south. If the players ca't take the home spotligt, it's on them. There weren't any MSG fans in Minnesota or in Atlanta.
it's funny that you can only point to two road games out of eight. I can point to 6 out of 7 home games where the team was booed excessively, usually in close games. I'm just saying it's not helping things and I think it's residual frustration from last season.

Protecting him so he passes the Miami physical.. How great would that be?

I don't care what people say - it's about comfort level. and this team is clearly not comfortable at home right now and a big part of that is the fans. I don't believe Dunleavy when he says that anyway. I've read quotes from Knicks players saying the same, but I don't believe them either.

well I'm gonna give'em a pass for losing to the Spurs and Rockets on the road.

I suppose you think it was herculean the way they beat the Grizzlies without Gasol and the way they beat the struggling nuggets on a last second heave.

Yeah but, guess what, this guy performs at home and doesn't use it as an excuse like our guys do. That's my point. Booing the home team sucks, but when you are sucking as hard as our guys are they deserve it.

I know it's uncomfortable when the home team boos, never said it wasn't. I would prefer our guys played through it instead of constantly using it as an excuse.

Crzy and Tom are right that the booing isn't optimal for the team at home. But, look at the bright side, its good practice for the road.
Sh-t in the popcorn to go with sh-t on the court. Its a theme show like Medieval times.

Curry update-

10 pts, 4 boards.
That was my prediction before I found he was playing against Ben Wallace in the second game of a back to back.

Then I changed it to 8 and 3 after finding out. Curry is exceeding my expectations.

they played better against the Spurs and Rockets on the road than at home and the Celts. they were in the games against the Spurs, Rockets and Celts at home, but got only sporadic support from the fans. it sucks. it's a caustic environment and the team would have a few more wins at home if its fans supported them more.

crzymdups... one thing I'll agree with you on is that NY fans are supposedly so smart. This is a passionate, critical and tremendous sports town. There's a lot of educated fans ... but there's plenty of idiots to go around at Shea, MSG, Yankee Stadium, Giants Stadium, etc.
